Abstract

  The aim of the study was to determine the influence of the application of learning descriptive writing by using cooperative model of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type. The research method used was experimental method, with a quasi-experimental design. This research was limited to the third year of class X students of MAN 3 in North Aceh District, while the sample of the study was the students of social class X2. The data analysis used in this study was t-test analysis by the Paired Samples T-Test model. As a result, the study showed that learning descriptive writing by using STAD type of cooperative model went well and provided better learning outcomes. It is proven by the average value of pre-test and post-test results. The results of pre-test test obtained an average value was 70.21, while the results of the post-test test obtained an average value was 87.79. Thus, there was a split about 17.58 between the results of pre-test and post-test. The Paired Sample t-test results showed significance of sig-0.00. This was less than a significant level of 0.05, meaning that H0 was rejected and Hi was accepted, and there was a positive influence on the application of learning descriptive writing by using STAD type of cooperative model.

Abstract

This is a developing research of learning media which aimed to create media of audio visual for the practicum of colloid and to get quality score of the media. The creating of the media has been consulted by two experts of media and three peer reviewers. The research instrument is questionnaire that contains aspects and criteria of quality scoring. The scoring had been given by five chemistry teachers at excellent senior high school. The result of the research is a audio visual media which burnt on CD. It contains practicum about making of colloid by disperse method and condentation method. Based on the scoring from reviewer 1, the media is classified to good quality with the mean score is 138.5. The media is classified to very good quality by scoring from reviewer 2. By testing in classroom, colloid learning by using audio visual media gives more satisfy result than learning without the media.

Abstract

Al-Qur’an al-karim sebagai kitab suci bagi umat Islam antara lain berfungsi sebagai huda yang sarat dengan berbagai petunjuk bagi manusia agar menjadi khalifah yang baik di muka bumi ini. Untuk memperoleh petunjuk tersebut diperlukan studi lebih lanjut tentang pengkajian terhadap al-Qur’an sehingga umat Islam benar-benar dapat mengambil manfaat dari pada isi kandungan al-Qur’an yang di dalamnya membahas permasalahan-permasalahan yang sudah terjadi, sedang terjadi, maupun yang belum terjadi secara komprehensif. Semua hal yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan manusia, maupun eksistensi alam ini sudah termuat dalam al-Qur’an, termasuk permasalahan asal dan proses kejadian manusia, sampai kepada aktivitas yang dilakukan manusia. Begitu pula dengan kajian tentang manajemen pendidikan, hal tersebut juga sudah tertulis di dalam Al-Qur’an.

Abstract

Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 08 Pontianak telah menerapkan prinsip-prinsip kecakapan hidup dalam proses pembelajaran biologi, namun dalam penerapannya belum mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal. Diperlukan suatu metode agar kecakapan hidup dapat dikembangkan, salah satunya melalui model problem based learning. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan kecakapan hidup general siswa pada pembelajaran sistem gerak di kelas XI dengan model Problem Based Learning. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dan jenis pendekatan kualitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh dari angket, dokumentasi dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kecakapan hidup general di kelas XI Lina (Lintas Minat) terkategori Baik dengan rata-rata sebesar 70%. Kecakapan hidup general yang muncul saat pembelajaran PBL adalah Kecakapan spiritual berupa penghayatan diri sebagai makhluk tuhan sebesar 82%, kecakapan potensi berupa menyadari kelebihan yang dimiliki dan percaya diri sebesar 68%, kecakapan berfikir yaitu menggali informasi, menemukan, mengelola, dan mengambil keputusan sebesar 69%, kecakapan komunikasi berupa mendengarkan, berbicara, membaca dan menulis sebesar 69%, kecakapan bekerjasama berupa tanggung jawab sebesar 73%. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa kecakapan hidup general siswa setelah diajarkan dengan menggunakan PBL yaitu siswa merasa bersyukur atas nikmat yang telah diberikan, siswa menyadari kelebihan dan kekurangan fisik yang dimiliki, kemudian siswa berfikir untuk menyelesaikan kasus permasalahan yang diberikan, berkomunikasi dan bekerjasama ketika berinteraksi antar sesama dalam satu kelompok.

Abstract

Teaching learning process is a two-sided process which occures significantly. It will run well if teachers could give positive influence to their students based on their level of competency. In general, the influence covers cognitive, affective, and psychomotoric aspects. To have an effective process of teaching, teachers should be skillful in using appropriate method, media, and evaluation as well as all the supporting elements to make the intercative process could occur in the classroom. In teaching learning process, teacher should play active roles, so does students. In the classroom, teacher often face many problems, among others, there are still students who are lack of understanding to the material taught. Related to that, teacher should do remedial to the students aiming at diagnosing the students’ problem in mastering the concept. By doing so, they would know whether the instructional tools, or method, media, and evaluation technique are not appropriate to their students. From the literature review done , it is found that teachers should do the remedial teaching to their students. Besides, in order to set an active, creative, innovative, and fun teaching learning situation, teachers should have some competencies.

Abstract

The curriculum of education may change according times and contextuality of society. Indonesian society is known as a multicultural society, so curriculum development should involve multiculturalism aspect, which is called multicultural curriculum. To strengthen the building of curriculum based on multiculturalism, it is need to develop philosophically and psychologically. The focus of problem in this research is, how is the philosophical and psychological basis of curriculum development based on multiculturalism in Indonesia?? This research is called library research with content analysis method. The data collected is objectively and systematically interpreted. The results of this study indicate the basis of curriculum development based on multicultural philosophically in the form of progressivism, recontruksionism and pancasilais. Psychologically, the development of a multicultural-based curriculum is the implementation of multicultural substance in accordance with the development of students put forward by Peaget, Erikson, and Rosseau.

Abstract

Learning the Quran is regarded as an essential activity in Muslim world in order to educate their young generations. However, in Aceh Besar district, many children and teenagers are not accustomed to reciting the Quran after the sunset prayer, but instead wandering around the street. Therefore, in 2012, the local government initiated a program of Beut al-Quran Ba’da Magrib in all villages in Aceh Besar district. This study attempted to figure out the effectiveness of the implementation of the program, strategy used, and impacts on the people in Aceh Besar. Held in Aceh Besar district, the study used cluster-based purposive sampling in Banda Safa, Lamcot, and Meunasah Karieng Lamlhom villages. The research participants were the Head of Islamic Law Office of Aceh Besar, teungku (Islamic teachers) of the program, santri (students) of the program, and community figures. In addition, the researcher had also collected some important documents reagrading this program. The data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation. The data were also triangulated. The findings indicated that the implementation of Beut al-Quran Ba’da Magrib program was not effective as expected. The strategy used was requiring school aged children to take part in the program. The impacts, however, were very good as the program has induced positive spirit of the young learners, as well as of the community and local environment. The positive impacts have encouraged other villages to implement similar programs. Nevertheless, there were still some obstacles that need to attention during the implementation of the program.

Abstract

Instructional activities which have been existed since the human existence on the earth is always in ongoing developments and progress. Among the factors that influence the development and advancement in the teaching is because of the emergence of various philosophical schools of thought as the creation of the philosophers. The flow of the existentialism spearheaded by Soren Aabye Kierkegaad also contributes a nuance of the teaching advancement significantly. The model of non-formal education and long life education is a form of precise enough offering in order that the human being gets the opportunity to act in accordance with its individual existence concretely.

Abstract

This article aims to describe how istikamah approach can be a moral force for the supervisors of PAI (Islamic Education) in running their main tasks and functions to supervise the teachers of PAI. The attitudes and behavior of Istikamah of PAI supervisors will form kindness, virtuousness, and good work accomplishment in the attempts to improve PAI teacher's performance. The phenomena in the field show that the supervisors of PAI have not internalized the attitude and behavior of istikamah when acting as the supervisors, stimulators, and motivators in supervising, guiding, and improving the performance of PAI teachers. The study was carried out in a qualitative approach utilizing a descriptive design. The subjects of the study were 2 PAI supervisors and 20 PAI teachers in state junior high schools in Nagan Raya district. Data collection was performed through observation, interview, and documentation. Referring to Miles and Huberman, data analysis was carried out by following some procedures comprising data reduction, data computation, and drawing a conclusion. In addition, the validity of the data was examined through the triangulation of the sources, methods, and theories. The result of the study pointed that PAI supervisors have implemented istikamah approach in the model of consistency toward aqeedah tauhid, consistency toward Islamic law, consistency toward truth and justice, consistency toward subjecting the worldly temptation, and the model of working with full commitment in improving the performance of PAI teachers.

Abstract

Learning sources play important roles in solving the learning problem. They are commonly identified as messages, people, material, tool, technique, and setting. To achieve a maximum output, it is needed to develop learning sources which are managed systematically, certifiably, and functionally. The use of various learning sources in many educational institution is indeed always influenced by some factors such as internal factor which dominantly influences the teaching learning process. It can be in the form of awareness, motivation, attitude, aptitude, metacognition, ability, skill, and the user comfortness. Another factor is called external one which influences the availability of various learning sources, its quantity, accessibility, the teaching learning process, room, human resources, also tradition and the school system. Teacher and students at schools admitted that the learning sources in their school are still limited, therefore it is needed a serious efforts to provide them.
