Abstract

The focus on this research is to find out why the Sidodadi farmers less interested activity at their mosque.How the Sidodadi farmers participation and contribution in creasing religious education at Sidodadi village; how to involve the problems inreligious activity by the sidoda farmers at mosque.This research is a field research which using qualitative method, the result of in this researchdeals with descriptions form observation and interview with many resetchinformants. There are the farmers, the villager leaders. From the observations, it isfound that the reason why the villagers choose religious activity at home is to increase economy and living standards through social gathering (jula-jula), friendship, to help people who want to send prayers to their parents and relatives who had died.The Participation and contribution of sidodadi farmers in religious activity are the villager leaders motivate their ,people to follow activity and to collect their money to buikl religious place.The problems of sidodadi farmers in religious education at mosque are to avoid social tension because the mosque is located at heighbour village.It is Air Masin village, and then to keep clean the mosque by dirt,such as ur children faecies, refuse of food and drink, cigarette ashes, and the women who are unable to pray and to keep the concentration and absorption prayers of people because this mosque is located on the edge of road that are is much people pas and pray it.

Abstract

This paper gives an overview of some of basic arguments of the use of L1 in L2 classroom, either against or in favor of it, and will particularly review the use of L1 in classroom of EFL adult learners in Indonesia. Despite to opponent arguments of L1 use, there are a number of proponent arguments from ESL/EFL professionals of its use. They argue that L1 use is beneficial for both teacher and student if it isused appropriately at appropriate times. The use of L1 in classroom is particularly helpful for teacher when helping engender security, conveying meaning of words, checking for comprehension, and or explaining grammatical rules.

Abstract

This study aims to determine character values and how to integrate character values in biology learning in Takengon and Lhokseumawe. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive. This research was conducted in Takengon and Lhokseumawe districts involving 7 biology teachers in purposive sampling techniques. The data collection techniques used were observation, then conducted interviews with teachers and analysis of teacher RPP documents to find additional information as supporting data. The results showed that the character values integrated into biology learning in schools were concerned about health, religion, independence, tolerance, friendliness / communicative, social care, responsibility, and caring character of the environment. But the percentage of each character is different, the highest percentage  (100%) are religious, independence, responsibility values for both regions and the lowest percentage (25%) values are health care and friendly/communicative in Takengon City, while in Lhokseumawe city the value of caring for the health, caring social and environmental care which have the lowest percentage (33,3%). Integration of character values is carried out in various ways, including refraction of greeting and prayer at the beginning and end of learning, chaplaincy,  integration also done through learning models and media is one of the ways to integrate character in biology learning.

Abstract

In the Arabic language learning, the method has a very significant position to achieve the goal. If so, then the method must exist on each of the learning process conducted by a teacher or educator. Method is a comprehensive plan to provide a systematic presentation of the language specified approach. Even the method is considered as art in the transfer of knowledge/learning materials to students and is considered more significant than aspects of the matter itself. Arabic language learning methods are manifold, both conventional (traditional) or modern character (innovative). Arabic language learning success also depends on how the educators (teachers) choose the appropriate method of learning. Even educators may need to make changes or replacement methods in the learning process in line with changing attitudes and interests of students to the material presented.

Abstract

M. Fethullah Gülen, a Turkish Muslim scholar in Islamic education emphasizes better aspects of character and moral building for students in an educational process. Education is not only limited on intelligence, but a clean heart must be the key. The idea of moral teaching is done by integrating religious knowledge with the lesson materials. This research is trying to dissect Gulen's book of Arabic learning with descriptive analysis method. From this study, it was found that the materials he included were the admonition, interpretation and analysis of Qur'anic verses, some hadith chosen, and the stories of the best examples from Sahabah. However, without putting aside the aspect of proficiency in Arabic, Gülen  also composed the qawa‘id al-lughah (nahwu and sarf), conversations (al-hiwar), presentation of Arabic vocabulary through image visualization and others. This shows that the book, Ta'lim al-Arabiyyah, of his work is a breaking style of learning Arabic in the Ottoman period that has classical model.

Abstract

This study aims to know the reasons of education ina multi-racial and multi-cultural society demands integration.. The studywhich focuses onMalaysia country typified by three major ethnic groups, namely Malays, Chinese and Indians,foundthat, firstlythe integration of curriculum in creating a holistic education isvital for the society to create a competitive human capital with value laden such as trustworthiness, dedication, creativity, civic awareness and many more. Secondly, integration curriculum emphasizes on the equity and equality of education for all.Through interacting with individuals from a range of religious and ethnic backgrounds, people will learn to understand, accept and embrace differences. Throughsharing experiences and aspirations,a common national identity and ultimately unity can be achieved. Therefore, integrating curriculum is not only to integrate Islamic concepts in the education system but alsoto integrate all the concepts that make one comprehensive curriculum. Abstract

This study tries to explore the srategy of mapping the service of Islamic Education Department of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of IAIN Surakarta by using business canvas model. The aim of this study is to describe and find business canvas model to map the service of Islamic education department. The result showed that the service mapping of Islamic education department can be used as a media for quality assessment of Islamic education department. Based on the scope of business canvas model which has been designed, analyzed, and finalized, it was found the service mapping of students, lecturers, staffs, FITK leaders, and Islamic education teachers. Abstract

Sebuah tinjauan proses pembelajaran bahasa Arab dengan menggunakan Buku ABY di Ma’had Abu Bakar UMS. Rata-rata mahasiswa yang mengikuti perkuliahan bahasa Arab di Ma’had Abu Bakar tidak memiliki basic bahasa Arab dengan baik, namun bisa menghasilkan output yang kompetitif. Maka penelitian ini akan lebih mempertajam pada aspek output (hasil) untuk mendapatkan informasi yang tepat penggunaan Buku ABY. Penulis mengkaji menggunakan metode kualitatif di setiap aktifitas kerja, konsep-konsep kerja maupun hal-hal lain yang berhubungan dengan proses pembelajaran tersebut. Penelitian ini memfokuskan kajiannya pada Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab untuk Tahun Akademik 2011/2012. Subyek dan Informan dari penelitian ini meliputi Pengelola, Dosen, Karyawan dan Mahasiswa Ma’had Abu Bakar As Shidiq Surakarta Tahun Akademik 2011/2012. Hasilnya ditemukan beberapa faktor antara lain tema yang disajikan dalam buku tersebut sangat familiar, dirancang sesuai dengan kurikulum yang berkembang, durasi pembelajaran yang efektif, dosen pengampu yang memiliki kualifikasi dan kompetensi bahasa Arab yang baik, lingkungan kampus yang kondusif, serta didukung aspek-aspek administratif yang disajikan dalam bahasa Arab.

Abstract

Among the latest problems encountered in the Arabic teaching in Islamic University is the poor ability of students in comprehending Arabic texts, either classic or contemporary ones. This is not only caused by the insufficiency of student ability in understanding sentence structure, but also the scantiness vocabulary mastery. The use of mu’jam ‘arabi as one of the language learning methods is very important. Unfortunately in Islamic university, there is no exclusive Arabic encyclopedia. This paper explores the urgency of mu’jam in coping with some problems of Arabic teaching in Islamic university, such as IAIN, STAIN and others.

Abstract

English proficiency test is the most widely taken for many purposes. Most of people take TOEFL, IELTS, and global English as learning fields to achieve their learning purposes. However the score for these proficiency tests are low. Consequently, they need to find solution to increase the score, for instance using learning strategies. There are several language strategies can be used to help them to achieve it. This study focuses on identifying which strategies used by language learners for learning IELTS, TOEFL, and global English and the frequency of using the strategies. The study proposes two research questions, first, what are strategies mostly used by the language learners in learning IELTS, TOEFL, and global English? Second, how often do the learning strategies used by the learners? The study is conducted in descriptive statistics, collected the data through SILL questionnaires consist of 35 statements, and includes 27 respondents from Bandung, West Java. This study found that learners used the learning strategies to help them in learning language proficiency, however they used it instability and inconsistency. Overall, to achieve the learning purposes, learners are suggested to trigger themselves to use learning strategies in consistent and regularly.
