Abstract

This study aims to determine how the use of busy book media can influence children's literacy and fine motor skills. The research adopted a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The variables in this study are busy book media (X) as the independent variable, and literacy and fine motor skills (Y) as the dependent variables, using a non-equivalent group design or quasi-experimental design. The population in this study consisted of 80 children. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a total of 40 children as the sample—20 children in the experimental group and 20 children in the control group. The data collection techniques employed in this study included observation, testing, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and parametric statistical analysis through the paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant difference between the  group that used busy book media and the group that did not. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of busy book media significantly enhances children's literacy and fine motor skills.

Abstract

The implementation of Inclusive PAUD cannot be separated from the existence of service programs that help all children get learning that is appropriate to their respective characteristics, one of which is through the existence of individual learning programs. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) in inclusive early childhood education, specifically at TK Negeri Pembina Banjarmasin Utara 2. The IEP is a form of educational service designed based on individual assessment results of students, particularly children with special needs (CWSN), to ensure that the learning process is effective, inclusive, and aligned with each child’s unique characteristics. The research employs a qualitative method with data collected through interviews and observations. The findings show that the school involves various stakeholders in the planning and implementation of the IEP, including classroom teachers, special education teachers, parents or guardians, and psychologists. The IEP includes assessment results, the child's identity and profile, short- and long-term learning goals, teaching methods and approaches, lesson plans, as well as evaluation and follow-up plans. The evaluation is conducted continuously and adjusted flexibly in accordance with the child's development. The IEP has proven to support an adaptive and holistic learning process and helps fulfill the educational rights of children with special needs in a fair and non-discriminatory manner.

Abstract

Early childhood education is the main foundation for children to develop in the future. Optimal interaction with the learning environment is essential to support overall growth and development. One crucial factor in supporting this process is the ratio between educators and students. This study aims to investigate the impact of the teacher-student ratio on student academic performance at RA Yaspi Muneng 2. The research approach used is qualitative descriptive with a case study method. Data collection techniques include classroom observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of student learning outcomes. The research findings indicate that a single teacher guiding two age groups in one classroom faces difficulties in providing individual attention, limitations in evaluating student progress, and administrative challenges. Interviews with parents also revealed that students' development differs from that of their siblings attending different schools, with parents citing the limited number of educators as a contributing factor. An unfavorable teacher-student ratio significantly impacts the effectiveness of learning and student academic performance.

Abstract

Traditional game isan ancestral heritage that deserves to be preserved as a form of appreciation for the insights of Nusantara. Traditional games have almost the same characteristics among regions in Nusantara. Traditional games are increasingly disappearing, making us as educators have a part to play in preserving them through learning activities in the classroom. Therefore, traditional games must continue to be developed into application-based games. The research method used in this study used a development research approach with ten research stages. The subject of this study included the Kindergarten unit on the south coast of Bangkalan Regency, which applies traditional games in learning. The study results showed that the digital game developed was feasible and required revision to perfect the application. The results of the trials carried out in the three settings also showed Good criteria, so this application is suitable for use in learning in children aged 4-5 years at school or home.

Abstract

In Indonesia, reading activities are still being debated, because early childhood learn while playing or playing while learning or with something fun so that if young children are taught to read, they will become depressed because the child is not ready to accept. Therefore, so that learning can be done in a fun way, it is necessary to have game tools to support children's learning activities so that they become more creative using a modified snakes and ladders game. This research uses a descriptive research type which is used to obtain data in the form of both written and spoken text. Collecting data in this study using observation techniques, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique used is the analysis of the Miles and Huberman models which consist of three activities, namely reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that using snakes and ladders games can develop early reading skills in early childhood, especially children aged four to five years, and show a sense of enthusiasm in learning and enthusiastic about following it to completion.

Abstract

Learning in early childhood can be done by utilizing various learning media, one of which is technology. Technology in early childhood learning can improve six aspects of child development, one of which is cognitive abilities. The interactive PowerPoint learning technology applied in this study provides a stimulus for cognitive development so children can acquire and build knowledge by discovering their knowledge. This study aimed to determine the effect of learning with interactive PowerPoint media on the cognitive development of early childhood in TK Aisyiyah 52. The research method used in this study was quantitative research with the study population of children aged 5-6 years. The type of sample used was Non-Probability sample selection using a saturated sampling technique with the same population as the research sample of 20 children. Data were obtained through the results of the pre-test and post-test scores. From the results of data analysis, it was found that the average score for the pre-test was 6, and the average score for the post-test was 12.25. This indicated that the average post-test score was higher than the average pre-test score for the t-count and t-table values, with a significant level of 5% and N = 20. Then, Ha was accepted, and Ho was rejected meaning that method using interactive PowerPoint media had an influence on the cognitive development of early childhood.

Abstract

Rhythmic movement ability is an essential component in the motor development of early childhood. It contains elements of flexibility, rhythm, movement accuracy, and continuous movement. The lack of stimulation and the lack of focus on developing motor skills, especially rhythmic movements, makes it difficult for some children to move according to the rhythm and coordinate the movements of their hands and feet. One effort that can be done is to use rhythmic gymnastics. This study aimed to determine the effect of Gemu Famire Gymnastics on the ability of early childhood rhythmic movements in the Kampong Bharu Guidance Center. The type of research used was experimental research with a pretest–posttest control group design. Samples were taken from pre-GC children with an age range of 5 - 7 years with 20 children (10 children in the experimentclass and 10 children in the control class). Data were collected using observation and then processed and analyzed using the t-test. Based on the  analysis results, the data results are normally distributed with the same variance value. Then, based on the results of testing the hypothesis with the t-test, the t count  score = 2.653 and t table 2.100 were obtained. If the two were compared, it can be concluded that t count > t table, which means that Gemu Famire gymnastics affected the ability of early childhood rhythmic movements at the Kampong Bharu Guidance Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze how learning media with loose-based media functions as an effort to build early childhood learning independence. This research used descriptive qualitative method. Research data collection techniques used observation and interviews. The research was conducted at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 1 Wonosegoro with a total of 16 research subjects consisting of 11 female students and 5 male students. The research stages started from lesson planning to evaluation and follow-up learning. The research showed that learning with loose parts could provide freedom to play and build learning independence for early childhood. This can be seen in the increase in children's creativity, encouraging children to be active in learning, increasing children's independence, training children's ability to work together, and building of self-confidence in children. The teacher's strategy in taking advantage of the teacher's leeway is to organize a comfortable playing environment for children. Part of learning is that children can determine the play activities and materials they want.
