Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of verbal abuse and parental interpersonal communication on the self-confidence of children aged 4-5 years in Legonkulon Sub-district, Subang. Verbal abuse is identified as the use of harsh, insulting, or demeaning words by parents, while good interpersonal communication includes openness, empathy, and mutual respect. This study used a quantitative approach with survey method and multiple linear regression analysis to analyze data from 96 children. The findings showed that verbal abuse and interpersonal communication together significantly affected children's self-confidence, with verbal abuse explaining 77.7% of the variance in children's self-confidence. This study provides recommendations for appropriate interventions, such as effective communication training for parents and educational programs to raise awareness about the importance of positive communication. Thus, this study contributes to a better understanding of the factors that influence children's self-confidence and develops more effective intervention strategies. The results showed that there is an effect of verbal abuse and interpersonal communication simultaneously on children's self-confidence. The R value of 94% indicates a very strong relationship between the two independent variables (verbal abuse and interpersonal communication) with the dependent variable (children's self-confidence). The F value of 625.457 with a test significance of 0.000 indicates that the regression model used is significant and can be used to predict the effect of verbal abuse and interpersonal communication on children's self-confidence.

Abstract

Multiple Intelligences, often referred to as multiple intelligences, emphasize the ability to solve problems and create works of art. One of these intelligences is kinesthetic intelligence. Kinesthetic intelligence refers to the ability to use all parts of the body through movement to express thoughts and feelings. However, children's abilities vary, and not all children possess strong kinesthetic intelligence, as observed at TKQ Nurul Huda. This research aims to determine the importance of developing kinesthetic intelligence through imitating movements based on pattern concepts using the ATIK model, which focuses on image patterns. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), with data collection techniques involving student observation and documentation. The results show that the implementation of the ATIK model in imitating movements according to picture patterns revealed that 68.25% of children developed as expected (BSH), while 31.25% developed very well (BSB). Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the ATIK model effectively develops kinesthetic intelligence in kindergarten children and enhances their imagination.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of outdoor learning assessment instruments at RA Hafniratunnisa Namlea, which aims to assess early childhood development in the context of outdoor learning. This study uses a development model based on the approach (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and involves assessment experts for instrument validation. The main focus of this research is on the development of comprehensive and functional instruments, not on the outdoor learning method or strategy itself. The resulting assessment instrument is designed to assess cognitive development, creativity, and other aspects of children's development through learning activities while playing in nature. This study also considers the limitations of the problem to maintain focus and get more targeted results. The instruments developed are required to be easy to understand by early childhood and relevant to creativity learning outcomes. The final result of this study is a valid assessment instrument that can be used by educators to assess children's development in the context of outdoor learning. These instruments include instructions for use, sub-instruments for each aspect of development, observation sheets and field notes, and interview sheets. Instrument validation is carried out through expert analysis and limited trials to several early childhood education institutions in certain regions. The conclusions drawn from this study show that the assessment instruments developed have been validated by experts and are suitable to be used to assess the development of children aged 5-6 years in the context of outdoor learning. This instrument is required to be in accordance with the learning objectives and use language that is easy for children to understand.

Abstract

This study aims to gather data on the effect of utilizing coffee plants as a learning medium on the fine motor skills of children at TK Negeri Sumberjaya. The research employed is experimental (pre-experimental). The sample consisted of 30 students from TK Negeri Sumberjaya, serving as the experimental group. Data collection in this study was carried out using child observation sheets totaling 15 items, the data analysis method used is descriptive, with hypothesis testing conducted using the Paired Sample T-Test. Based on the results of the Paired Sample T-Test calculation, the Pre-Test and Post-Test values were found. The average Pre-Test value for children's fine motor skills, or the Mean, is 27.03. For the Post-Test, the average value of children's fine motor skills is 51.23. Since the average Pre-Test score of 27.03 is lower than the Post-Test score of 51.23, it indicates that, descriptively, there is a significant difference in children's fine motor skills between the Pre-Test and Post-Test results. With a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 0.05, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in children's fine motor skills between the Pre-Test and Post-Test, meaning that the use of coffee plant media has a positive effect on improving children's fine motor skills at Sumberjaya State Kindergarten.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Dual Coding Method to stimulate the memory of early childhood students at TK Aisyiyah Ngebel. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the Dual Coding Method for stimulating memory in young children at TK Aisyiyah Ngebel consists of three main stages: planning, execution, and evaluation. During the planning stage, teachers design learning materials that integrate both text and images. In the execution stage, teachers engage in active interaction with the children to discuss and visualize concepts, enhancing their understanding and retention. The evaluation stage focuses on assessing the children's memory stimulation. The results indicate that the Dual Coding Method is effective in stimulating memory in early childhood students. Children's memory abilities are shown to be strong, as evidenced by their attentiveness, ability to retain material presented by the teacher, and recall of the provided information. This method has successfully facilitated better memory retention among the young learners. The study concludes that the Dual Coding Method is a beneficial approach for enhancing memory in early childhood education, supporting children in paying close attention, retaining, and recalling the information learned.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of flannel board media and word cards in developing early childhood reading skills at IT HASMI Kindergarten, Tamansari District, Bogor. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, which focuses on direct observation of the learning process. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies, and analyzed with a descriptive approach. The results showed that the use of flannel board and word card media has a positive impact in increasing children's learning engagement and enthusiasm. This media allows children to learn interactively, so they are more active in asking, answering and solving problems. In addition, flannelboard and word card media help children recognize letters, syllables and words in a fun way, thus improving their reading skills. Despite some shortcomings, such as the limited capacity of the flannel board and the risk of damage to the word cards, this study found that both media can be used effectively in learning to read. Teachers at HASMI Kindergarten plan the use of these media carefully, considering the material being taught and the activities that support children's active participation. The study concludes that the use of flannel board and word card media not only improves children's reading skills, but also creates a fun and interactive learning atmosphere. Thus, this study makes an important contribution in the development of effective learning methods for early childhood, as well as being a reference for educators in designing more interesting and useful learning activities.
