Abstract

Learning combinatorics material requires a digital learning medium that is able to support students' independent learning. The unavailability of digital media makes students experience difficulties, so independent learning cannot be carried out effectively. This research aims to develop a digital-based smart calculator application as a learning medium for combinatorics material that meets the criteria of being valid, effective, and practical. This research applies research and development (R&D) methods whose stages are the preliminary stage, planning stage, formative evaluation stage, prototyping stage, and large class trials (field tests). A total of 31 Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic TRPL students were the subjects of this research. The data collection techniques applied are expert validation sheets, effectiveness trial questionnaires, and practicality trial questionnaires. Expert validation activities provide evidence that the media is valid and ready to be used in learning. Based on effectiveness and practicality trials on 31 students, the results showed that the digital-based smart calculator application was classified as effective and practical. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the development of a digital-based smart-calculator application is valid, effective, and practical, so that the digital-based smart-calculator application is ready to be used and applied to learning combinatorics material.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Pembelajaran materi kombinatorika membutuhkan suatu media pembelajaran digital yang mampu mendukung pembelajaran mandiri mahasiswa. Tidak tersedianya media digital ini membuat mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan sehingga pembelajaran mandiri tidak dapat terlaksana dengan efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi smart - calculator berbasis digital sebagai media pembelajaran materi kombinatorika yang memenuhi kriteria valid, efektif, dan praktis Penelitian ini menerapkan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang tahapannya yaitu tahap preliminary, tahap perencanaan, tahap formative evaluation, tahap prototyping, dan uji coba kelas besar (field test). Sejumlah 31 mahasiswa TRPL Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini. Teknis pengumpulan data yang diterapkan adalah menggunakan lembar validasi ahli, angket uji coba keefektifan, dan angket uji coba kepraktisan. Kegiatan validasi ahli memberikan hasil bahwa media valid dan siap digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan uji coba keefektifan dan kepraktisan terhadap 31 mahasiswa memberikan hasil bahwa aplikasi smart - calculator berbasis digital tergolong  efektif dan praktis. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan aplikasi smart - calculator berbasis digital tergolong valid, efektif, dan praktis sehingga aplikasi smart - calculator berbasis digital siap digunakan dan diterapkan pada pembelajaran materi kombinatorika.

Abstract

Because students were having trouble picturing the three-dimensional system of coordinates in a spatial analysis geometry course, their mathematical problem-solving abilities were still low. Educational movies that aid in visualization are essential for pupils. The study at hand used a design consisting of a pretest-posttest control group and was quasi-experimental in nature. While the control class experienced conventional teaching, the learners in the experimental group learned using three-dimensional coordinate system audiovisual media. A test of one's capacity to solve mathematical problems was used, along with observation sheets and interviews. A total of thirty-four participants made up the sample for this study, which was carried out at the University of Pattimura's Mathematics Education Study Program. Evaluation was of t-testing outcomes on mathematical problem-solving skills. The findings demonstrated that students' proficiency in solving problems with mathematics increased when they were taught to use a video about the three-dimensional coordinate system.

Abstract

The low level of mathematical disposition ability of the students in one of the Junior High Schools in Palembang became a special matter during the field experience. It was found that the average percentage of students' mathematical disposition ability was 53.01% in the moderate category. In addition, there were students who had a view of mathematics as a difficult and unpleasant science. In fact, mathematical disposition has a great influence on students' mathematics learning and achievement. Moreover, it will help students to see the beauty of God's creation through mathematics if they have a good mathematical disposition. This makes the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMRI) an alternative solution to the problem of mathematical disposition. The purpose of writing this thesis was to find out whether the application of PMRI could develop the disposition ability of algebra material and to describe the application of PMRI in developing the mathematical disposition ability of students in algebra material using a descriptive qualitative method. The results and conclusions of this paper show that the students' mathematical disposition ability after the application of PMRI increased with an average percentage result to 61.48% in the good category. The increase was caused by the mathematical disposition indicators that were refined in all PMRI syntax. Thus, these indicators can be refined in any syntax. Reflecting on the application of PMRI, it is suggested that the application can be done more than twice and use physical learning media.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Rendahnya kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa di salah satu SMP di Palembang menjadi perhatian khusus saat dilakukannya praktik pengalaman lapangan. Didapatkan rata-rata persentase kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa berada pada 53,01% dengan kategori cukup. Ditambah lagi terdapat siswa yang memiliki pandangan terhadap matematika sebagai suatu ilmu yang sulit dan tidak menyenangkan. Padahal, disposisi matematis sangat berpengaruh terhadap pembelajaran matematika dan prestasi siswa. Apalagi, dengan baiknya disposisi matematis siswa, maka akan mendukung mereka memandang indahnya ciptaan Tuhan melalui matematika. Hal ini menjadikan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) menjadi alternatif solusi terhadap permasalahan disposisi matematis. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan PMRI dapat mengembangkan kemampuan disposisi materi aljabar dan mendeskripsikan penerapan PMRI dalam mengembangkan kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa pada materi aljabar dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dan simpulan penulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa setelah PMRI diterapkan mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata hasil persentase menjadi 61,48% dengan kategori baik. Hasil persentase yang meningkat ini disebabkan oleh indikator disposisi matematis yang terdapat pada keseluruhan sintaks PMRI. Dengan demikian, indikator-indikator tersebut dapat terasah di setiap sintaks. Berkaca dari penerapan PMRI ini, disarankan agar penerapannya dapat dilakukan lebih dari dua kali dan menggunakan media pembelajaran fisik.

Abstract

One of the problems with learning mathematics is students' difficulty in understanding the material. This difficulty is often accompanied by a sense of boredom, especially at the junior high school level. One solution to address this issue is the use of self-designed and organized digital mathematics comics to help students overcome difficulties and capture their attention. This research aims to implement valid and practical digital mathematics comics in the learning of number sequence pattern. This qualitative descriptive research was conducted by collecting data through questionnaires, observation sheets, and unstructured interviews. In the implementation of learning number sequence patterns using digital mathematics comics, 88 percent were found to be valid, and 89 percent were proven to be very practical based on the responses of 9 eighth-grade students from one of the private junior high schools in Malang who used it. Students were able to read, interact actively, and complete each exercise available in the media. Teaching mathematics using digital mathematics comics is recommended for implementation in other schools.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Salah satu masalah yang terjadi pada pembelajaran matematika adalah kesulitan siswa dalam memahami materi. Kesulitan yang biasanya disertai oleh rasa bosan dialami oleh siswa terlebih pada jenjang SMP. Salah satu solusi untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut adalah penggunaan media komik matematika digital yang didesain dan disusun sendiri untuk membantu siswa mengatasi kesulitan dan menarik perhatian siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis implementasi media komik matematika digital yang valid dan praktis dalam pembelajaran pola barisan bilangan. Penelitian dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif ini dilakukan dengan cara mengumpulan data melalui angket, lembar pengamatan, dan wawancara tidak terstruktur. Pada implementasi pembelajaran pola barisan bilangan dengan media komik matematika digital yang 88 persen sudah valid, terbukti 89 persen sangat praktis berdasarkan respons 9 siswa kelas 8 di salah satu SMP Swasta Malang  yang telah menggunakannya. Siswa dapat membaca, berinteraksi dengan aktif, dan mengerjakan setiap latihan soal yang sudah tersedia pada media tersebut. Pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan komik matematika digital ini direkomendasikan untuk dapat diimplementasikan di sekolah-sekolah lain.

Abstract

Creativity is one of six basic principles required for the Merdeka Curriculum implementation. Not only is it realized through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), creativity also needs to be realized in learning activities. This research aims to describe the implementation of problem exercises based on open-ended mathematics problems as a form of formative assessment that supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, especially in supporting students' mathematical creativity. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 5 Malang using the qualitative descriptive method. The research subjects were 32 seventh grade students in the 2023/2024 school year.The instruments used were question exercises and rubrics based on open-ended mathematics problems that have met the valid criteria, activity observation sheets, and student interview guidelines. The results showed that the assessment based on open-ended mathematics problems can assess the level of mathematical creativity and prompted the student’s mathematical creativity. In the implementation of assessment based on open-ended mathematics problems based on valid open-ended mathematics problems, data was obtained that the level of practicality of assessment reached a practicality score of 3,674 which means that assessment based on open-ended mathematics problems is easy to use. Based on the response questionnaire and interviews, further research is recommended to integrate open-ended mathematics problems-based assessment with gamification.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Kreativitas merupakan salah satu bentuk profil pelajar Pancasila. Tidak hanya diwujudkan melalui Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5), kreativitas juga perlu diwujudkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi latihan soal berbasis open-ended mathematics problems sebagai salah satu bentuk asesmen formatif yang mendukung pelaksanaan Kurikulum Merdeka, khususnya dalam mendukung kreativitas matematis siswa. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 5 Malang dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas VII tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah latihan soal dan rubrik penilaian berbasis open-ended mathematics problems yang telah memenuhi kriteria valid, lembar observasi kegiatan, dan pedoman wawancara siswa. Pada implementasi asesmen berbasis open-ended mathematics problems yang telah valid, diperoleh data bahwa tingkat kepraktisan asesmen mencapai skor kepraktisan 3,74 yang berarti asesmen berbasis open-ended mathematics problems mudah untuk digunakan. Berdasarkan angket respons dan wawancara, penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk mengintegrasikan asesmen berbasis open-ended mathematics problems dengan gamifikasi.

Abstract

Creating individuals with competitive abilities in today’s era can begin by integrating technological advancements into education. This process will be effective when students have an interest in both the learning process and the technology currently integrated. However, research data from a Christian high school in Jakarta shows low student interest in learning. This issue can be addressed through the teacher's efforts to provide learning that fosters student interest by utilizing the Wordwall technology application, studied through a descriptive qualitative research method. The research results indicate an increase in students' interest in learning across all indicators in this study: student attention, engagement in learning, and enjoyment in participating in lessons. This research underscores the importance of the role of Christian teachers in guiding students through learning with the use of Wordwall. Christian teachers are called to guide students in their learning, which includes fostering students' interest in learning and producing students capable of competing in the current era as part of their responsibility in fulfilling God's work. The researcher suggests that teachers should assess students’ readiness to learn, check their understanding after explaining material, and select suitable challenge designs on Wordwall that match the difficulty level of questions being asked. In this way, students can demonstrate an increased interest in learning.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Menciptakan manusia yang memiliki daya saing pada masa era ini dapat dimulai dari mengintegrasikan perkembangan teknologi pada pendidikan. Proses ini akan efektif saat siswa memiliki minat belajar terhadap pembelajaran serta teknologi yang telah diintegrasikan saat ini. Namun, data penelitian di salah satu SMA Kristen di Jakarta menunjukkan rendahnya minat belajar siswa. Permasalahan ini dapat dijawab melalui upaya guru dalam memberikan pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi teknologi yakni Wordwall dalam pembelajaran yang dikaji menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan minat belajar siswa yang meliputi setiap indikator minat belajar pada penelitian ini yakni perhatian siswa, keterlibatan pada pembelajaran, serta perasaan senang mengikuti pembelajaran. Melalui penelitian ini, peran guru Kristen dalam menuntun siswa pada pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan Wordwall sangat penting. Guru Kristen dipanggil untuk menjadi penuntun siswa dalam belajar, termasuk mengembangkan minat belajar siswa serta menghasilkan siswa-siswa yang mampu bersaing pada perkembangan masa sekarang sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab akan karya Allah. Saran yang dapat diberikan oleh peneliti yaitu guru harus mengetahui kesiapan belajar siswa, serta pemahaman siswa setelah menjelaskan materi serta perlu untuk memilih desain tantangan yang terdapat pada Wordwall sesuai tingkatan soal yang akan ditanyakan. Dengan demikian, siswa dapat menunjukkan peningkatan minat belajar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how students' mathematical thinking processes unfold when addressing AKM Numeracy problems based on Mason's theory, taking into account emotional intelligence. This research is descriptive in nature with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consist of students categorized into high, moderate, and low levels of emotional intelligence. Research instruments include emotional intelligence questionnaires, AKM numeracy problem sheets, and interview guides. The research findings indicate that students with high levels of emotional intelligence are capable of fulfilling the three stages of mathematical thinking processes in problem-solving, namely entry, attack, and review. However, they have not fully met the extend aspect in the review stage. Students with moderate emotional intelligence can fulfill all aspects in the entry and attack stages but have not met the check and extend aspects in the review stage. Meanwhile, students with low emotional intelligence can only fulfill the know aspect in the entry stage, the try aspect in the attack stage, and the reflect aspect in the review stage.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana proses berpikir matematis siswa ketika mengatasi masalah AKM Numerasi berdasarkan teori Mason ditinjau dari kecerdasan emosional. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yang dipilih yaitu siswa yang memiliki level kecerdasan emosional tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen penelitian mencakup lembar angket kecerdasan emosional, lembar soal AKM numerasi, dan panduan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa siswa dengan tingkat kecerdasan emosional tinggi mampu memenuhi tiga tahap proses berpikir matematis dalam memecahkan masalah, yaitu tahap entry, attack, dan review. Meskipun demikian, siswa dengan kecerdasan emosional tinggi belum sepenuhnya memenuhi aspek extend pada tahap review. Siswa dengan kecerdasan emosional sedang dapat memenuhi semua aspek pada tahap entry dan attack tetapi tidak dapat memenuhi aspek check dan extend pada tahap review. Siswa dengan kecerdasan emosional rendah hanya dapat memenuhi aspek know pada tahap entry, aspek try pada tahap attack, dan aspek reflect pada tahap review.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the mistakes made by grade 10 students at SMA Hati Bilingual Boarding School Probolinggo in solving HOTS questions on exponential equations and their scaffolding. This study used qualitative research methods. The subjects of this research were four students with different types of errors. The results of the research show that the basic error type is mostly made because students do not understand the meaning and concept of solving problems. Apart from that, students also make other types of errors, namely the appropriate error type because students cannot solve the exponential form of the equation, the missing information type because students cannot continue the solving process, and the partial insight type because students make mistakes in calculations. The research results also show that the scaffolding process for students with basic error types takes longer than for students with other types of errors. It is hoped that future research will be able to analyze student errors on HOTS questions using other theories or procedures in order to help students overcome their mistakes and minimize errors when solving HOTS questions.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan kesalahan siswa kelas X di SMA Hati Bilingual Boarding School Probolinggo dalam menyelesaikan soal HOTS persamaan eksponen serta scaffoldingnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah empat siswa dengan tipe kesalahan berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan tipe basic error paling banyak dilakukan karena siswa tidak memahami maksud dan konsep untuk menyelesaikan soal. Selain itu, siswa juga melakukan tipe kesalahan lain yaitu tipe appropriate error karena siswa tidak dapat menyelesaikan bentuk persamaan eksponen, tipe missing information karena siswa tidak dapat melanjutkan proses penyelesaian, serta tipe partial insight karena siswa salah dalam perhitungan. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa proses scaffolding untuk siswa dengan tipe kesalahan basic error berlangsung lebih lama dibandingkan siswa dengan tipe kesalahan lain. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat melakukan analisis kesalahan siswa pada soal HOTS dengan teori atau prosedur lain, sehingga dapat membantu siswa mengatasi kesalahannya dan meminimalisir kesalahan ketika memecahkan soal HOTS.

Abstract

Learning motivation is important to encourage students to do learning activities. With good learning motivation, students will be able to face learning challenges and successfully achieve learning goals. However, the fact is that 24 students of class XII in one of the schools in Tangerang have low learning motivation. One of the reasons is because the learning method used does not provide space for students to learn according to their diverse characteristics. To overcome this problem, the author applied differentiated learning. Students are unique images of God. They are given different talents by God so they need to be served according to their needs in order to develop and use their talents for the glory of God. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of differentiated learning according to the Merdeka Curriculum to develop student learning motivation in mathematics learning on the topic of statistics. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the implementation of differentiated learning according to the Merdeka Curriculum can develop student learning motivation by fulfilling the four indicators of learning motivation through the stages of mapping student needs, planning differentiated learning, implementing differentiated learning, and evaluation and reflection.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Motivasi belajar penting untuk mendorong siswa melakukan kegiatan belajar. Dengan motivasi belajar yang baik, siswa akan mampu menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran dan berhasil mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Namun, faktanya 24 siswa kelas XII di salah satu sekolah di Tangerang memiliki motivasi belajar yang rendah. Salah satu penyebabnya karena metode pembelajaran yang digunakan tidak memberi ruang kepada siswa untuk belajar sesuai dengan karakteristiknya yang beragam. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Siswa merupakan gambar Allah yang unik. Mereka diberi talenta yang berbeda-beda oleh Allah sehingga siswa perlu dilayani sesuai kebutuhannya supaya dapat mengembangkan dan menggunakan talentanya untuk kemuliaan Allah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi menurut Kurikulum Merdeka untuk mengembangkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran matematika dengan topik statistika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi menurut Kurikulum Merdeka dapat mengembangkan motivasi belajar siswa dengan terpenuhinya keempat indikator motivasi belajar melalui tahap memetakan kebutuhan siswa, merencanakan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, melaksanakan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, serta evaluasi dan refleksi.

Abstract

Educational technology has grown rapidly and extensively, but unfortunately its presence in learning mathematics has not been maximized. A preliminary survey and the researchers' personal experience with the use of Smart TVs in one junior high school (SMP) motivated the researchers to do research and development (R&D) which began with a clear and comprehensive needs analysis. The aim of this research is to determine the need to further develop Smart TV learning media and explain ways to improve its use based on the conclusions of the needs analysis. The research method applied is the ADDIE Model with its stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The instrument used to collect needs analysis data is a survey which, after being validated and revised, was distributed via g-form to students, mathematics teachers, and junior high school leaders. The results of the needs analysis show that even though Smart TVs were used, the majority of students have difficulty understanding mathematical concepts because Smart TVs are not interesting and interactive. A Smart TV is just a substitute for LCDs and laptops. Therefore, researchers designed learning methods that are interesting and involve students in using Smart TVs should focus on inquiry learning methods and educational games. The implementation steps will help mathematics teachers to maximize the use of Smart TVs in the classroom.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Teknologi pembelajaran telah berkembang begitu cepat dan luas, tetapi kehadirannya di pembelajaran Matematika belum dimaksimalkan. Beberapa sekolah telah menggunakan Smart TV sebagai media pembelajaran di kelas, tetapi survei awal dan pengalaman pribadi peneliti akan kurang maksimalnya penggunaan Smart TV di satu sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) memotivasi peneliti untuk melakukan penelitian R & D yang dimulai dengan sebuah analisis kebutuhan yang jelas dan komprehensif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui analisis kebutuhan untuk lebih jauh mengembangkan Smart TV serta menjelaskan cara-cara pengembangan media tersebut berdasarkan temuan-temuan kesimpulan analisis kebutuhan. Model penelitian yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan ADDIE dengan tahapan Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data analisis kebutuhan adalah survei yang setelah divalidasi dan direvisi, survei tersebut disebarkan melalui ke g-form kepada siswa/i, guru matematika dan pimpinan sekolah. Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun Smart TV telah digunakan, siswa/i masih kesulitan menguasai konsep Matematika karena Smart TV kurang menarik dan interaktif. Smart TV hanya sekedar pengganti LCD dan laptop. Oleh karena itu, peneliti merancang metode pembelajaran yang menarik dan melibatkan siswa dalam penggunaan Smart TV yaitu metode pembelajaran inquiri dan permainan edukasi. Langkah-langkah penerapannya akan menolong guru-guru Matematika untuk memaksimalkan penggunaan Smart TV di kelas.
