Abstract

Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in Indonesia, significantly affecting patients both physically and psychologically during chemotherapy. Resilience serves as a key psychological factor that helps patients adapt, endure stress, and maintain treatment adherence despite various challenges. This study aimed to analyze the influence of Sundanese local wisdom values—silih asih (empathy and compassion) and silih asah (mutual learning)—as an ethnotherapeutic communication model designed to strengthen resilience in lung cancer patients. A one-group pretest–posttest design was employed, involving 20 patients at RSUD Welas Asih, Bandung, who were selected through total sampling based on the inclusion criteria. Data were obtained using a modified Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) consisting of 48 Likert-scale items administered before and after the Trisilas-based therapeutic communication intervention. Data analysis employed Bayesian ordinal logistic regression to accommodate the small sample size and generate stable estimates. The results revealed that silih asih had the most substantial positive effect on patient resilience, followed by silih asah, while silih asuh was not statistically significant. Empathic communication increased resilience by up to 45%, and educational communication by approximately 40%. Thus, ethnotherapeutic communication grounded in silih asih and silih asah effectively enhances resilience, psychological well-being, and holistic nursing care. Abstract

Islamic da'wah film scholarship has focused predominantly on textual analysis of completed works, leaving creative production processes that determine digital reach unexamined. This study examines creative strategies in producing Waaqimussolah (2024) by Fiqri Fox as a digitally distributed Islamic short film. Qualitative descriptive approach; data from in-depth interviews with five key informants, platform analytics, and production documentation; analyzed through Rhodes 4P framework extended with a Platform dimension. Four creative-algorithmic intersections identified: (1) 94.8% FYP-driven TikTok discovery; (2) duration compressed from 10–11 minutes to 8:14 due to platform constraints; (3) two-stage funnel yielding 858,519 TikTok views and 39,200 YouTube views (84% search traffic); (4) WhatsApp community sharing (49.4% external traffic) as unplanned third distribution layer. Rather than merely reflecting distribution performance, these metrics demonstrate that platform logic actively shapes creative production decisions at the levels of narrative pacing, hook design, and distribution sequencing, supporting Platform as a distinct and empirically observable dimension within the creativity framework. Algorithmic da'wah describes a productive intersection, not a replacement, of spiritual intentionality and platform logic: creative authority remains with the filmmakers even as specific decisions are negotiated against algorithmic constraints. This study proposes a 5P framework extension, Person, Process, Press, Product, and Platform, and offers an empirically grounded production model for low-budget Islamic digital filmmakers seeking to reach younger, platform-native audiences without compromising da'wah intent.

Abstract

Violence against journalists in Indonesia is a recurring democratic issue, but news coverage often frames it as isolated incidents rather than structural problems. Previous studies have focused on legal protection, victim experiences, or case classification without systematically mapping how actors and claims form discourse coalitions across different media arenas. Using Discourse Network Analysis (DNA), we coded 391 actor statements from Detik.com (mainstream national) and Floresa.co (local alternative media) for six claim types (individual misconduct, procedural response, systemic violence, institutional accountability, justice demands, and obstacles to journalistic work) based on framing and discourse coalition theory. Network visualization was performed using DNA software and Gephi. The Indonesian National Police (Polri) dominated Detik.com (91 statements) with an individual-perpetrator to systemic claim ratio of 4.9:1. Floresa.co showed stronger advocacy actor presence (AJI, KKJ, LBH Pers, AMSI) and a near-balanced ratio (9:7). Two main coalitions emerged: individual-perpetrator-procedural and systemic-structural. Mainstream media reproduces institutional-procedural storylines, while alternative media enables systemic-structural advocacy coalitions, but discourse institutionalization of systemic claims remains incomplete in national public spheres. Protecting journalists requires not only legal reform but also transforming news routines that systematically prioritize institutional narratives over advocacy perspectives.
