Abstract

Technological developments and the era of digitalization in the 21st century demand innovation in education, especially in the development of learning media, which is the basis behind this research. This research aims to develop an interactive e-module with ecosystem material based on the I-Spring application for class X SMA Negeri 5 Gowa which is valid and practical. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The research subjects were biology subject teachers and class X students at SMA Negeri 5 Gowa. Data was collected through e-module validation sheets and teacher and student response questionnaires. The validity of the emodule was measured with a validity percentage of 4.39, while practicality was measured through the responses of teachers (91.45%) and students (88.81%), both of which indicated the very practical category. Keywords: E-module, R&D, ADDIE, Valid, Practical.

Abstract

Abstract. This study emphasizes the critical importance of enhancing Classroom Action Research (CAR) as a catalyst for more sustainable Biology education. The primary factors identified include a lack of comprehensive information regarding the implementation of CAR across various regions in Indonesia and the current weaknesses inherent in CAR. The objective of this research is to examine the effectiveness of CAR in improving the understanding of biological concepts and to propose a model for sustainable CAR. A systematic review method following the PRISMA approach was employed to analyze relevant studies. The findings reveal that CAR is effective across almost all Biology teaching methods, enhancing quality through student participation, creativity, and learning outcomes. However, the principal challenge lies in the unsustainable nature of CAR, which hampers long-term improvement efforts. This study develops a sustainable CAR design, referred to as Sustainable Action Research (SAR), which encompasses comprehensive planning, monitored implementation, evaluation of outcomes and processes, and reflective practices to develop new strategies. SAR acts as a catalyst for the renewal of Biology teaching methods, enabling educators to adapt to evolving educational challenges. Recommendations for future research include focusing on the implementation of SAR and evaluating its effectiveness. Active teacher involvement in every stage of SAR is essential to ensure that innovations are aligned with on-the-ground needs. Collaboration between academics and teachers is also crucial to improving the quality of education in Indonesia, particularly in the field of Biology education Keywords: classroom action research, sustainable action research, biology education, sustainable education

Abstract

This research has two objectives, namely 1) to assess the biology learning outcomes of class XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Gowa after implementing a project-based learning approach. 2) Understand how project-based learning influences students' biology learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 3 Gowa XI. This research uses a pretest-posttest control group design. This research was attended by all Class XI MIA students of SMA Negeri 3 Gowa, totaling 241 students, including control and experimental classes. Sampling used simple random sampling. Data collection uses test instruments in 30 topic categories. Based on the data obtained after being given treatment, it shows different results, namely that the experimental class obtained an average learning outcome score of 83.33 which was higher compared to the average score of the control class, namely 59.89 and the application of the project-based learning model showed that there was an influence on the results. learning of class 0.000 < 0.05Key words: project based learning model, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the biology learning outcomes of high school students in the circulatory system topic. This is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. The population in this study comprised all eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. The research sample included class XI Biology 5 as the control class and XI Biology 7 as the experimental class, selected through random sampling. The research instrument consisted of a multiple-choice test with 25 questions. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests in the form of ANCOVA tests. The analysis results showed that the learning outcomes of students in the class taught using the PBL model, with an average pretest score of 31.12, categorized as poor and very poor, significantly improved, marked by an average posttest score of 86, categorized as very good and good. The ANCOVA test results showed a sig. value of < 0.05, indicating that the problem-based learning model has an effect on the biology learning outcomes of high school students.Keyword: learning outcomes, problem-based learning

Abstract

This research aims to develop an e-module assisted by the Flip PDF Professional application on the topic of viruses, assess its validity, and assess its practicality. Adopting the development model by Borg & Gall, the study goes through seven stages: potential and problems, data collection, product planning, design validation, design revision, product testing, and product revision. Data were collected through questionnaires given to subject matter experts and media experts to test validity, as well as assessment responses from teachers and students to test the practicality of the e-module. The research findings indicate that the e-module has been developed for use as teaching materials and learning media in high schools. The product's validity from the assessment by subject matter experts is 95.67% and by media experts is 96.06% both categorized as "very valid". Assessment of the product's practicality also yields very positive results, with a percentage of teacher responses at 92.00% and student responses at 89.07%, both categorized as "very practical". This product is highly suitable for use as teaching materials and learning media for biology.Key words: e-module, flip pdf professional, teaching material, viruses

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning readiness of students at SMA Negeri 5 Takalar in following biology lessons. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The population of this study was 498 students, with a sample of 83 students selected using stratified random sampling. The research design used was a survey method with data collection techniques using a learning readiness questionnaire consisting of 30 statements. The data obtained were then analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The results showed that the learning readiness of students at SMA Negeri 5 Takalar was generally in the ready category with an average percentage of 74.03%. The highest readiness indicators were in the very ready category in terms of needs, motives, and goals. Meanwhile, the physical condition, emotional condition, and knowledge were in the ready category. The lowest indicator was in the quite ready category in terms of students' mental condition.
