Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of emotional on prosocial behavior moderated by gender in new students of psychology UNM. Emotional empathy is defined as an impulse automatically and without being realized to respond to other people's emotional states. And prosocial behavior is defined as an act by giving two treatments in the form of a video which can increase someone’s empathy or neutral with an instrument to measure emotional empathy using the Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS) developed by Watson, Clark & Tellegen (1988). The measurement of prosocial behavior is done by looking at the number of donations given by respondents. The research respondents numbered 32 students consisting of men and women with the criteria of new students in UNM psychology. This experimental research used factorial design 2 (empathy: neutral vs empathy) X 2 (sex: male vs. female) between-subject designs. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence between emotional empathy on prosocial behavior, but the effect of gender as a moderator on prosocial behavior does not have a significant effect.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe examine the correlation between workplace bullying with employee work procuctivity at PT. Tiga Manunggal Textile (Timatex) Salatiga. The subject of this research is too employees of the Timatex company in seazing and weaving divisions. This result shows r = -0,312 and p = 0,002indicate that there is a negative and significant correlation betwen two variables.

Abstract

The phenomenon of cyberbullying often occurs in Indonesia, especially in adolescents. The case of cyberbullying tends to occur because of the problem of self-esteem in the perpetrators of cyberbullying. Apart from self-esteem issues, it was also found that men tend to do cyberbullying more often than women. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of self-esteem and gender prejudice to cyberbullying behavior on students in Jakarta. The research method used is the stratified random sampling technique. This research was conducted to high school and vocational high school students on an equal level in DKI Jakarta with a sample of 435 people. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between self-esteem and the tendency of cyberbullying behavior. In addition, gender prejudice was also found to have a significant relationship with the tendency of cyberbullying behavior. These results are expected to be the basis for educators and parents and the government to provide early education to adolescents about the importance of developing tolerance and respect for the opposite sex and providing education on how to use social media wisely.

Abstract

Work engagement telah banyak diteliti termasuk didalamnya antesedennya yaitu job resources dan personal resources. Meskipun demikian sangat sedikit studi yang menunjukkan prediktor maupun hasil dari work engagement yang secara berkelanjutan. Terdapat enam komponen kehidupan kerja yang berpotensi sebagai jalan untuk mengonsepkan climate for engagement. Ketika diukur sebagai konstruk iklim (pada tingkat unit atau organisasi), enam komponen kehidupan kerja (beban kerja, kontrol, reward, komunitas, keadilan, dan nilai-nilai) dapat mempengaruhi persepsi karyawan terhadap tuntutan pekerjaan dan sumber daya kerja, yang pada gilirannya mempengaruhi work engagement. Sementara pada satu sisi optimisme menjadi lebih menonjol dan merupakan prediktor yang lebih baik terhadap work engagement di bawah kondisi kerja tertentu. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa optimisme dapat menjadi mediator parsial atas pengaruh iklim organisasi terhadap work engagement

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of organizational culture and perceived organizational support toward organizational commitment.  The instrument was used in this study were organizational commitment scale is based on aspects of organizational commitment, organizational culture scale is based on aspects of organizational culture and perceived organizational support scale based on aspects of the perceived organizational support. This study was involved 203 banking employees. The results showed that organizational culture and perceived organizational support significantly influenced of organizational commitment. It means organizational culture and perceived organizational support contributed to increasing organizational commitment. Meanwhile, organizational culture has a greater contribution to organizational commitment than perceived organizational support. This study also showed that two aspects of organizational culture contributed to organizational commitment, there were espoused values and artifacts. An espoused value has a higher contributed to organizational commitment. Meanwhile, for perceived organizational support, fairness aspect contributed to organizational commitment.

Abstract

Levels of wellbeing, financial factors, emotional and psychological factors need to be addressed to individuals in the workplace. Individual well-being is met is expected to occur individual satisfaction in the workplace. Individual satisfaction, groups in the workplace have an impact on emotions. This study aims to examine the role of welfare in individual emotions. The method used in this research is observation, interview and secondary data. The sample in this research is cleaning service of Faculty of Psychology Airlangga University Surabaya, random sampling method. The result of this study is that employees have good emotions and well-being when they are at work. The most important factor why they can enjoy the job is the existence of a conducive, comfortable, and familial work environment. In this research, the conducive working environment factor is quite dominant. In addition, the relatively small working pressures and awareness of the difficulty of finding employment are also factors why these employees decide to survive.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat tanggung jawab anak sulung pada siswa SMA di kota Makassar. Populasi penelitian adalah adalah siswa SMA yang merupakan anak sulung di kota Makassar. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara insidental dan diperoleh jumlah sampel sebanyak 230 orang responden. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan skala rasa tanggung jawab yang disusun oleh Rizki Mustika. Hasil penelitian tingkat tanggung jawab pada siswa SMA yang merupakan anak sulung di kota Makassar menunjukkan yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat rendah adalah sebanyak 16 orang, kategori rendah adalah sebanyak 55 orang, kategori sedang adalah sebanyak 82 orang, kategori tinggi adalah sebanyak 60 orang dan kategori sangat tinggi adalah 17 orang. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat tanggung jawab subjek bergerak dari sedang menuju ke tinggi.

Abstract

Research on shyness began to be widely performed, for it is deemed necessary to conduct a study of psychometric property of shyness scale, this scales made by researchers. This scale consists of four aspects, namely: cognitive, physiological, affective, and behavioral. Each aspect contains six items. This study aims to obtain a description of the aitem-total correlation, reliability, validity, and norms of shyness scale. The research respondents consisted of 690 college students. This study shows that the aitem-total correlatin range from 0.345 to 0.541. This study also shows that the shyness scale is reliable with Alpha Cronbach coefficient of 0.858. This study also shows that the shyness measuring instrument is valid in terms of concurrent validity, unidimensionality, and that the choice of answers given can be understood and can be distinguished by the subject of research. The study norms obtained from this study can be used with respect to the characteristics of the sample.Penelitian tentang shyness mulai banyak dilakukan, untuk itu dipandang perlu untuk melakukan kajian mengenai properti psikometrik yang dimiliki oleh alat ukur shyness yang dibuat oleh peneliti. Alat ukur tersebut terdiri atas empat aspek yaitu: kognitif, fisiologis, afektif, dan perilaku. Masing-masing aspek berisi enam aitem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran daya diskriminasi aitem, reliabilitas, validitas, dan norma dari alat ukur shyness. Responden penelitian terdiri atas 690 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa daya diskriminasi aitem bergerak dari 0,345 hingga 0,541. Penelitian ini menunjukkan pula bahwa alat ukur shyness tergolong reliabel dengan koefisien Alpha Cronbach sebesar 0,858. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa alat ukur shyness tergolong valid ditinjau dari validitas konkuren, unidimensionalitas alat ukur, dan bahwa pilihan jawaban yang diberikan dapat dimengerti serta dapat dibedakan oleh subjek penelitian. Norma penelitian yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini dapat digunakan dengan memperhatikan karakteristik sampel.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk memahami dinamika psikologis orang yang melangsungkan pernikahan pada masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian dengan pendekatan indigenous psychology ini melibatkan 266 subjek yang menikah pada masa pandemi. Data digali melalui kuesioner open-ended dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis konten. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa stressor berupa peluang penolakan akad nikah dan peluang penularan virus memunculkan dominasi emosi negatif (65,54%), seperti takut, cemas, dan sedih sebelum prosesi pernikahan. Guna meredam stressor tersebut, maka diterapkanlah protokol kesehatan yaitu memakai masker, mencuci tangan, menjaga jarak, menggunakan sarung tangan, membatasi jumlah tamu, serta mengecek suhu tubuh. Dominasi emosi positif (95,22%), seperti bahagia, lega, syukur, dan tenang terasa setelah pernikahan terlaksana. Mayoritas subjek (79,70%) puas atas prosesi pernikahan karena acara berjalan lancar, khidmat, dan sesuai protokol kesehatan. Penelitian berimplikasi pada urgensi kepatuhan semua pihak terhadap norma sosial serta adaptasi harapan personal, termasuk perihal pernikahan, di tengah situasi yang penuh ketidakpastian.

Abstract

There are many factors that could make a person become lonely, one of the factors is the condition where the person have to live far from their parents and family, which is shown on the teenegers that lived in boarding school. Building a good friendship could help a person who feels loneliness. This research aims to determine the correlation of friendship motive towards loneliness on boarding school students, differences in the level of friendship motive on man students and women students, and the difference in levels of loneliness on man students and woman students. This research has 247 student subjects consisted of 172 man students and 75 woman students at the boarding school Darud Da'wah wal Irsyad Rahman Ambo Dalle Mangkoso. This research uses product moment person test and independent sample t-test. The results of this research show that was correlation of friendship motive towards loneliness (p = 0.000). Correlation coefficient of friendship motive toward loneliness of -0.618. There was no differences in the level of friendship motive men students and women students (p = 0.731). There was no difference in the level of loneliness men students and women students  (p = 0.150). The benefits of this research is to give an idea of the friendship motive and loneliness, especially the students at the boarding school.
