Abstract

Healthcare facilities often face long queues and extended waiting times, disrupting the service process and increasing the risk of spreading infectious diseases. To address these challenges, this study utilized Scrum methodology to develop a Doctor Appointment application based on the Progressive Web Application (PWA). System usability testing uses the System Usability Scale (SUS) to ensure user-friendliness. The application includes doctor schedules, appointment booking, service status checking, and a visit history review. It is integrated with the Emesys system from PT Bigs Integrasi Teknologi, which serves as the case study location. The implementation of Scrum involved various stakeholders, including end-users, leading to improved team coordination and accountability through five planned sprints. The SUS testing results showed an average score of 78.58 from 30 respondents, indicating a high level of usability approaching the excellent category. This suggests that users are satisfied with the ease of use and overall application experience. However, further evaluation revealed that users may require some time to adapt to the application.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology affects various aspects of life, including business. Disebut Kopi, a cafe founded in 2021, utilizes technology to handle online orders through third-party applications. However, business owners still do not feel they can maximize profits if they continue relying on partner applications for sales. Hence, an online ordering and business product management application was developed specifically for Disebut Kopi. This mobile and web-based application facilitates management and direct notification receipt for the business. The prototyping approach is used in the development of this application to ensure the participation of all users in gathering requirements, designing and iterating prototypes, and testing for evaluation. The selection of this method is based on the need to optimize system development so that the final product is accepted rapidly and smoothly without many changes at the end. With this approach, the owner, cashier, and customers of Disebut Kopi can actively provide feedback to ensure the application meets the needs during the design and development processes. Testing is carried out using Blackbox, Usability, and User Acceptance. Blackbox testing has 33 test cases that are 100% successful; user acceptance testing has 42 scenarios that are 100% accepted. In addition, the average usability testing result is 85.4%, which is included in the excellent category.

Abstract

The Community Health Center Queue Management System is an Android and website-based online queuing system. The purpose of this research is to help Puskesmas Umban Sari who faces difficulty in managing patient queues. The main process handled by the system is registration and data recapitulation. The system has two queuing features that can be activated or not as needed, namely the priority queue and linear queue. The development method in this research is done by using the Rational Unified Process (RUP). The tests carried out are black box testing, usability testing, and performance testing. Based on the outcomes obtained from black box testing, it can be determined that the system is functioning very well. The Usability testing with a total of 50 respondents shows a score of 84%, which means that this system is quite satisfactory and useful for users. Whereas in performance testing, the Load Testing and Stress Testing processes were obtained by 67%, which means that the performance of this system is quite good when given heavy pressure and many users access simultaneously. The system successfully reduced waiting times and improved service efficiency.

Abstract

The determination of tourist routes in Pekanbaru is not solely based on identifying the shortest route but also the best route, considering the various challenges in the field, such as potholes, traffic congestion, and the lack of directional signs to tourist destinations. The selection of the best route is crucial to improving travel comfort and efficiency, reducing travel time, and avoiding potential risks that may disrupt the tourist experience. Therefore, this study aims to determine the best route to tourist attractions using the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) method and rank tourist routes with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. This study integrates two approaches: ACO, which mimics the behavior of ant colonies in finding optimal routes, and AHP, which generates numerical scores to rank alternatives based on how well each alternative meets the decision maker's criteria. The results of this study are expected to help tourists find available facilities at tourist attractions and provide alternative routes that can serve as a reference in determining the best route to the tourist location, thereby enhancing tourist satisfaction and the overall travel experience.

Abstract

Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Pekanbaru (MAN 2 Pekanbaru) is one of the Madrasah Aliyah in Pekanbaru. In 2014, MAN 2 Pekanbaru conducted a learning quality survey that was filled in by students. The survey was conducted by distributing paper to students containing questions about learning during one semester. However, there are several obstacles in the survey process, namely the use of excess paper, inefficient time and requires special storage space to store the collected survey paper. These obstacles cause the survey filling process to not run effectively. To overcome these problems, a website for filling out surveys on the quality of learning in schools can be built. On this website there are three access roles, namely, students, teachers and academic fields. Making this survey website will use the prototype method. By using this method, users will be directly involved in the analysis and design process. The results of system testing using Black Box testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) show that the system functionality runs well and in accordance with user needs.

Abstract

Cryptography is the study of how to transform data or information into a form that is unreadable by others, thus ensuring the security of the data. Based on a questionnaire conducted among students of Politeknik Caltex Riau (PCR) who have studied classical cryptography, the Vigenere Cipher and Affine Cipher were found to be the most difficult algorithms to understand. This research aims to investigate the improvement in students' knowledge of classical cryptography through interactive 3D simulations. The experiment was conducted on 30 PCR students by comparing two learning groups: a control group (using textbooks) and an experimental group (using 3D simulations). The results showed that the average post-test score for the control group was 67.33 point, while the experimental group achieved an average score of 83.33 point. Thus, learning with 3D simulation media can serve as an effective alternative medium, with a confidence level of 95%, to enhance students' understanding of classical cryptography. Meanwhile, the satisfaction level indicates that 86.75% of students are satisfied with learning through interactive 3D simulation media. This indicates that the use of classical cryptography learning media through 3D simulations provides a significant improvement in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Politeknik Caltex Riau (PCR) is one of the private vocational colleges in Pekanbaru City, Riau, which was established in 2001. Every year PCR holds certification for prospective graduates, where this certification is mandatory for prospective graduates as a graduation requirement. To facilitate prospective graduates, PCR has a Professional Certification Institute (LSP). This certification is used to ensure that graduates have competencies in accordance with their field of expertise before entering the workforce. PCR already has an LSP-P1 system. LSP P1 is a 1st party professional certification institution formed by educational institutions. The existing system is only at the registration stage, while other administrative files are collected in paper / hard file form. The impact is that some files are lost, and it takes a long time to process the data. The resulting solution is to design the Front End of the LSP System including the registration section, assessment process, determination of results, appeals against certification decisions and complaints. The design uses the Design Thinking method on the Front-End side. Based on the test results using UEQ, which reached an excellent scale (percentage above 2% with a range of -1 to 2.5%) in terms of Attractiveness, Clarity, Efficiency, and Novelty of system design.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the most important raw materials for beverages worldwide. Indonesia is one of the world's leading coffee producers and exporters, and coffee consumption is currently increasing. To maintain the taste of coffee, it is necessary to preserve the quality of coffee beans. The government has established the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 01-2907-2008 regarding coffee beans. The process of determining the quality of beans is carried out by processors who manually follow the steps outlined in the SNI. Therefore, to accelerate the quality determination process and provide knowledge to the general public, the author has developed a mobile-based coffee bean quality detection application to determine the grade of coffee beans using an Android platform. This application incorporates a machine learning model based on object detection. For the machine learning implementation, TensorFlow and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture are used. From the training data results, an average accuracy of 84% was achieved, indicating that the application generally detects correctly. Additionally, testing was conducted on several smartphones and at varying detection distances. The testing results showed that the optimal distance for detection is 15 cm to obtain accurate and detectable data. Furthermore, the smartphone with the best performance was the Smartphone A30, featuring a 16 MP resolution camera.

Abstract

Vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation is a prominent aquaculture activity in Indonesia. This study introduces a digital image-based method for measuring shrimp weight and length, enhancing the traditional anco technique. The Chessboard distance method was employed to accurately measure curved objects like shrimp bodies. A homogeneity test assessed whether manual measurement data and pixel-based data for weight and length shared similar variation distributions. For shrimp weight, the F-test yielded a value of 0.000000028, significantly smaller than the critical F value of 0.817796464 at a 5% alpha level, indicating no significant difference in variation between the variables. Similarly, shrimp length data produced an F value of 0.0001174, also below the critical value of 0.8175241. These results confirm that both variables—weight and length—show no significant variation differences between manual and pixel-based methods. The findings validate the digital image-based approach as a reliable method for predicting shrimp size, offering an accurate and efficient alternative for Vaname shrimp measurement.

Abstract

Used cooking oil, or waste cooking oil, is the byproduct of repeatedly using cooking oil, which results in the formation of substances harmful to the body. Furthermore, improper waste cooking oil management poses a risk of environmental pollution. To address this issue, PT. Kilang Pertamina Internasional Refinery Unit II Dumai (PT. KPI RU II), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, initiated the "Sedekah Jelantah" program. This initiative involves the CSR division, several sub-districts in Dumai Timur, and the general public, aiming to raise awareness about environmental pollution and promote urban greening in Dumai. To support the program's implementation, a digital system is essential to efficiently manage the donation flow of waste cooking oil from upstream to downstream. Therefore, an integrated web and mobile-based information system, called Sistem Informasi Minyak Jelantah (SiMINAH), was developed using the Lean Software Development (LSD) methodology. Blackbox testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and usability testing were conducted to ensure the system's quality. The black box testing and UAT results revealed that 100% of the application functions performed well and met stakeholder expectations. The usability test showed 87.3%, indicating that the system is highly feasible and meets user needs. All users provided positive feedback on SiMINAH, noting that it simplifies waste cooking oil donations and enhances management processes for local sub-districts and the Dumai city CSR team.
