Abstract

Along with the times, technology in the transportation sector continues to develop rapidly. This is marked by the emergence of vehicles that are modern and practical to use. One example is an electric bicycle. electric bikes are a new option in development and alternative transportation. Because of these problems, a tool was made that can turn an ordinary bicycle into an electric bicycle. So that bicycle owners simply and easily turn ordinary bicycles into electric bikes. This tool uses a battery as its energy source and has a speed regulator that is placed on the bicycle handlebar. Which functions as a PWM regulator via a pulse generator. When a bicycle user turns the gas trhotle on the bicycle handlebar, the brushless motor at the bottom near the bicycle pedal attached to the rear tire will receive a PWM signal. When the gas throttle is pulled, the electronic speed control will activate, so the brushless motor rotates. And a brushless motor drives the rear wheels of the bike. This simple electric bicycle has a maximum speed of 27.1 km / h with a maximum rider weight of 100 kg.

Abstract

Landslides are one of the causes of the collapse of the transmission tower of PT PLN (Persero) which caused power outages, therefore monitoring the shifting of the transmission tower tread is very necessary so that power outages due to the collapsed tower can be anticipated faster. In this study the authors made a study to monitor tower shifts by using Ultrasonic sensors and LVDT sensors (Linear Variable Differential Transducer), Ultrasonic sensors function to detect shifts from towers and LVDT sensors function to detect shifts from the left and right tread tower ground. In this research, there are three main sensors, namely 2 LVDT sensors and one Ultasonic sensor - each sensor is placed in a safe position from interference and has the least possibility of being affected by landslides, Ultrasonic sensors read the tower shift towards the sensor mounted on the center side and LVDT sensors read the shift ground tread tower on the left and right side of the tower. The sensor sends the signal then is converted by the ATMega 8535 microcontroller into a millimeter unit for LVDT sensors and centimeter meter for Ultrasonic sensors. To find out the changes that occur in the tower and tower ground. Every change in distance or the occurrence of a microcontroller shift sends event data in the form of tower numbers and tower shift distances from each sensor reading using SMS (Short Message Service) communication. The installed LVDT sensor has a reading accuracy rate of 98,05% for LVDT 1 and 98,98% for LVDT 2 in millimeters and an Ultrasonic sensor has a reading accuracy rate of 99,44% in centimeters.

Abstract

Vegetable waste is leftover vegetables that are withered and rotting. Usually, vegetable waste becomes garbage that ends up in a landfill. These wastes still contain high water content and have the potential to be used as animal feed or compost. However, there are obstacles to its utilization. The main obstacle in utilizing vegetable waste to be used as animal feed is the size of the vegetable waste, which tends to be too large so that it cannot be used directly as animal feed. Therefore, we need technology that can simplify the enumeration process. A vegetable waste chopping machine is one of the right counter technologies for utilizing vegetable waste. The vegetable waste chopping machine is designed to use a horizontal shaft and is driven by an AC electric motor with a power of 1 hp. Pulley and belt mechanisms are used to reduce rotation and transmit power from the motor to the chopping blade. This chopping machine uses a half-helix blade arrangement and a parallel arrangement. Tests were carried out on this machine to determine the advantages of selecting the half helix blade arrangement pattern compared to the parallel blade arrangement pattern and the chopping capacity possessed by the machine. In this study, an experiment was carried out using a rotational speed of 1800 rpm. The chopping machine with the half helix blade arrangement has a chopping capacity of 231.4 kg/hour, more significant than the parallel blade arrangement. Keywords: chopping machine, vegetable waste, helical blade

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technological innovation that is widely used in science, including the field of health sciences. An intelligent health monitoring system for elderly patients is only one of the IoT applications that might be developed in the field of health sciences. This system must be implemented so that doctors can ascertain the patient's status and that patients can be monitored from home rather than having to visit the hospital for checkups. Therefore, a device is required to make it simpler for patients and medical professionals to check the three vital signs—heart rate, oxygen saturation, and body temperature. Vital signs are a variety of physiological statistical measurements that are used to assess a patient's health state, particularly in elderly people (elderly) who are ill or at risk. With the use of this instrument, the patient can provide the doctor with information on his vital signs, making it simpler for the doctor to identify the patient's condition and treat the patient. This tool's design makes use of the MAX30100 sensor, which measures oxygen saturation and heart rate. Then comes the MLX90614 sensor, which measures body temperature. The microcontroller (ESP32) processes the sensor before sending the data to the MySQL database. The percentage accuracy rate for testing the heart rate is 96.15%, the percentage accuracy level for testing the oxygen level is 97.4%, and the percentage accuracy level for testing the body temperature is 98.3%.

Abstract

Over time, the number of vehicles in big cities will increase, as will the city of Pekanbaru. The rate of increase in the volume of vehicles that is greater than that of road development will result in congestion. To overcome this problem, the Pekanbaru Regional Government implemented the Pekanbaru Trans Metro Bus system, known as TMP in 2009. The disproportionate number of buses operating and the length of operating lines caused the time intervals between buses in one place to be very long. The uncertainty of when the bus will arrive at the bus stop is one of the factors causing this system failure. The position and speed of the bus obtained from the GPS module will be read by NodeMCU Lolin V3 (Controller) and sent to the MySQL database on the PCR server. The data will be used to determine the time to the next stop. The time data will be posted on the website. In addition, the equipment will be equipped with an RFID reader and an e-Bus card for making an e-money-based bus ticket payment system.

Abstract

Inequality in infrastructure development, especially in rural or rural areas, is the main obstacle for people to access the internet. An antenna capable of operating at the LTE 450 MHz frequency is needed so that the LTE network reaches rural areas and people who live in rural areas are easy to access quality internet services. The radiation pattern possessed by the Yagi antenna is useful for making the Yagi antenna the right solution to solve this problem. In this research, the design and performance comparison of Yagi antennas with different driven elements is carried the gas trhotle on the bicycle handlebar, the brushless motor at the bottom near the bicycle pedal out, namely driven batang aluminium Yagi antennas and driven planar Yagi antennas. The driven batang aluminium Yagi antenna and driven planar Yagi antenna are designed to have 10 elements consisting of 1 reflector element, 1 driven element and 8 director elements and can operate properly at a frequency of 450 MHz. The parameters obtained from the measurement results of the Yagi rod alumminium driven and the planar driven meet the desired specifications. The return-loss values of the aluminium rod driven Yagi antenna and planar driven Yagi antenna at a frequency of 450 MHz are -25.68 dB and -20.09 dB. The bandwidth of the two antennas has met the uplink frequency (452.5 MHz – 457.5 MHz) and downlink frequency (462.5 MHz – 467.5 MHz). The VSWR values of the rod aluminium driven Yagi antenna and the planar driven Yagi antenna are 1.11 and 1.22 with gains of 13.31 dBi and 8.18 dBi, respectively. The radiation pattern of a Yagi antenna with a rode aluminium dan planar driven is directional.

Abstract

Work accident is an undesirable and unexpected event that can cause human and/or property casualties (Permenaker No. 03/MEN/1998). In Indonesia, the number of work accidents in the construction sector is still relatively high. Based on BPJS Employment data, in 2019 there were 77,295 cases of work accidents in the construction sector. Based on this, Occupational Safety and Health in carrying out construction work is given great attention. One of the most important and always required PPE is a safety helmet. Based on the many needs for PPE helmets, many brands of safety helmets are sold on the market without knowing their advantages and materials, many accidents have occurred, and many helmets have broken and other failures. Based on this, research was carried out on the analysis of compressive strength and durability of SNI and non-SNI safety helmet materials. The aim of this research is to determine whether the compressive strength and shock resistance of safety helmet materials comply with standards. The research used a qualitative method by testing safety helmets. The test results showed that the SNI safety helmet passed the pressure and shock resistance tests, while the non-SNI safety helmet did not pass the pressure test but still met the shock resistance test. This value will be used as a reference for innovating safety helmet materials.

Abstract

The transformator is a very important component in the distribution of electricity from distribution substations to consumers. Damage to the transformator causes the continuity of service to consumers to be disrupted, electricity energy is not sold to consumers and the high price of transformators makes this component really need special attention. In the world of industry, transformators are a vital part of the equipment because they are the main source of electrical energy. Even though they have other energy sources from generators as a backup, generators that use diesel engines have a certain time limit for their use depending on the capacity of each fuel tank they have. If there is a failure in the two systems, industrial operations will stop and this can cause the company's image to become unfavorable. To overcome the potential losses that occur due to transformator failure and to increase the reliability of transformators, a real-time monitoring system based on IoT (Internet of Things) is needed. To conduct this research, the authors used the fishbone issue method to determine the factors causing the dominant occurrence of burnt transformers and used the Arduino Uno Wifi Rev2 for monitoring on the transformer side and used the Raspberry PI CM4 to monitor power measurements on the MCC. System Monitoring is designed using Node-RED IoT as a data processor, using Influxdb as a database, using MQTT as a hosting server, and Grafana as a Dashboard platform. With the creation of a realtime monitoring system for transformators, it is hoped that the maintenance system for transformators will be better so that they can anticipate transformators without starting a burn out first. The results of the monitoring system development resulted in a decrease in the risk map from a score of 16 (high) to 4 (low to moderate). In references to similar studies, it was found that no one monitors the critical parameters of the transformer more fully, as in this study monitoring from the transformer side: temperature, oil sudden pressure, oil level and on the mcc panel: voltage, current, power, frequency, and cosphi , equipped with a trip system. Abstract

Coal Boiler Plant at PT. Salim Ivomas Pratama is a plant for making steam, almost all activities in the cooking oil and margarine production process utilize electrical energy, such as submersible and centrifugal electric motors with controllers, computers, AC inverters, and many others which include non-linear loads. Electrical load whose correlation between voltage and current is unbalanced, this non-linear load will result in harmonic disturbances in the electric power system which causes a reduction in the service life of electrical equipment. Harmonics are defined as voltage and current frequency distortions that are not sinusoidal from pure frequencies. This study aims to determine how effective the active filter design simulated with the PSIM Software is in reducing harmonics with a non-linear load of 3 VSD connected to a 55 kW, 0.37 kW, and 7.5 kW induction motor. The results of measurements and analysis show that there are harmonics on the panel. SDP with a current harmonic value for phase R of 26.6%, phase S of 27.5%, and phase T of 25.5%, when compared with standard harmonics, all phases exceed the standard SPLN with a standard value of 20%. Then it is necessary to reduce harmonics with an active filter, after designing andsimulating it in the PSIM software the simulation results show that the current harmonics have changed for phase R by 3.3%, phase S by 4.0%, and phase T by 3,4 %. This shows that the design of the active filter is quite effective in mitigation a harmonic, to then be applied in practice at PT. Salim Ivomas Pratama in reduction the harmonics in a coal boiler plant.

Abstract

The availability of electrical resources is limited and replacing batteries for renewable energy sources such as solar is a complicated task and will increase costs. Therefore, a system was designed that utilizes wind and solar energy as a source of electricity. One alternative energy that is widely used is harvesting wind energy, and converting wind energy into electrical power. In this research, a wind power plant was designed using a horizontal wind turbine to harvest wind energy as an alternative energy source and the Covarage Awareness method was applied for Pekanbaru City. The power produced by the wind turbine for Pekanbaru City varies every day depending on the wind speed and the height of the building, but in this study the power produced was very small due to low wind speed conditions. Based on observations from Sunday, 18 December 2022 to Tuesday 27 December 2022, the average wind speed was low, namely 2 to 2.5 m/s, then on Wednesday, 28 December 2022 the average wind speed was moderate, namely 3.53 m/s , and finally on Thursday 29 December 2022 the wind speed decreased again, namely 2.71 in the low wind speed category. The comparison between the power obtained by the wind and the power obtained from the wind turbine in Pekanbaru City is 361.11 watts and the power that should be obtained by the wind turbine is 214.13 watts. However, based on observations, the power produced by the wind turbine at a wind speed of 8.17 m/s is 3 watts, because at this speed the wind turbine rotates for a short time of only 3 minutes. Therefore, the power produced by a wind turbine is very small.
