Abstract

One of the agricultural problems in Indonesia is the rice field mouse pest. The problem is that controlling rat pests is done with chemicals that are not good for the rice field ecosystem, so it is necessary to prevent them by controlling rat pests that are more environmentally friendly, such as using ultrasonic waves. The rat repellent tool uses a NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller with a PIR sensor to detect the presence of rats. The expulsion method uses ultrasonic waves which cause uncomfortable conditions for rat pests. The tool designed also uses an energy source from sunlight. The 50wp solar cell functions to convert sunlight energy into electrical energy. Then, energy is stored in the battery via the charger controller. The voltage produced by solar panels varies depending on the intensity of sunlight received with a maximum voltage of 22V. The PIR sensor can detect at a maximum distance of 8m at a beamwidth of 45°.

Abstract

Coconut milk is an essential ingredient in daily life. To obtain coconut milk, the coconut flesh must be grated and squeezed from its shell. To enhance the grating process, a coconut grater machine is necessary. However, existing coconut grater machines have been less effective in terms of operational efficiency. Therefore, an idea emerged to improve the efficiency of the coconut grater machine by incorporating a ball-joint mechanism for clamping. This redesigned coconut grater machine utilizes a slider with a ball-joint mechanism on the clamping side, allowing movement along three axes (x, y, and z). This mechanism enables more effective clamping of the coconut shell with shorter clamping time. As a result, the grating capacity increases to 47.01 kg/hour, representing a significant improvement of 1510% compared to the previous coconut grater machine.

Abstract

In the current test, leaks really need to be carried out at GIS Simpang. This test was carried out by strengthening the 20 kV incoming cable in the GIS Simpang 150/20 kV transformer bay. The impact of measuring this leakage current is to reduce the occurrence of leakage currents so that they are not too severe because this can determine how much the leakage current increases in the incoming cable. The trend test results were measured to determine the comparison between the leakage current in January and the leakage current measurement process at GIS Simpang. Based on the results of leakage current testing on transformer 1 and transformer 2 incoming 20 kV cables from several phases, it shows that the results of the leakage current trend in the cables have not increased significantly. However, from the calculation results listed, it can be seen from the comparison table that the results have increased during the calculation and have slight differences compared to the leakage current measurement results themselves. This is because from the calculation results, the cable temperature detection experienced a slight increase in the cable temperature as measured by thermovision to determine the thermal failure voltage. However, the cable is still suitable for operation because the temperature of the cable itself has a standard that does not exceed 150C for several measured cable phases.

Abstract

Welding is a technique for joining metals by melting a portion of the base metal and filler metal, with or without additional metal, to produce a continuous metal joint. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of electrode composition from three brands, namely Niko Steel, Atlantic, and Kobelco, on tensile strength, bending, and impact. This study uses SMAW welding with a single V butt joint in the 1G/PA position on SS 400 steel plates, using 4.0 mm diameter electrodes. The welding results are then inspected visually and with a NDT penetrant test to ensure conformity with TWI acceptance standards. Subsequently, the workpieces are cut with a bandsaw into specimens according to ASTM E8 for tensile testing, ASTM E290 for bending testing, and ASTM E23 for impact testing. The research results show that the highest tensile test value is achieved with Niko Steel electrodes, having an average tensile strength of 792.5 MPa. In bending tests, the highest bending strength is also observed with Niko Steel electrodes, averaging 8.71kN. In impact testing, the highest average value is found with Niko Steel electrodes, at 1.1 J/mm².

Abstract

Indoor farming requires a substitute for sunlight for its growth, therefore a system was created to control the light intensity used for indoor farming using the BH1750 Sensor which has an accuracy level of 94.6% and an AC Light Dimmer as a PWM Module. It is important to remember that AC Light Dimmers regulate light intensity by cutting off some of the sinusoidal waves from the AC electric current, and this can produce side effects such as noise or electromagnetic interference (EMI) in electrical lines. In the noise conducted emission test on the AC Light Dimmer, a noise value of 80.33dBµV was obtained, which is far from the CISPR 22 Class B standard value, so a passive EMI filter with the Low Pass Filter (LPF) type was designed to be able to reduce the conducted emission noise. The passive EMI filter designed and tested has an effective dampening response even though there is a shift in the cut-off frequency of 28.7KHz from that obtained in the calculations. The Passive EMI Filter designed is capable of reducing noise conducted emissions produced by AC Light dimmers by 80.33dBµV to 26.46dBµV and produces excellent attenuation of up to 53.87dB and meets the specified standards (CISPR22 Class B).

Abstract

PT. Tata Metal Lestari (PT. TML) is a company that produces zinc aluminum coated steel and zinc coated steel used for raw materials for mild steel and other construction products. The machine used in the production process of PT. TML uses a lot of large 3-phase AC motorcycles. Because these motors require a very strict maintenance process by measuring and recording the vibration and temperature of the drive motor every day. ATMI Industrial Polytechnic (Polin ATMI) in collaboration with PT. TML jointly developed a tool that aims to collect motorcycle condition data quickly and provide direct warnings to the maintenance team if there are abnormal conditions. The analysis and design method used in this study succeeded in making a vibration and temperature monitoring system tool for non-portable engines that can detect vibration and temperature on the motor using a non-portable network that can be displayed on a screen so that it can help PT. TML. The tool made has a size of 70 x 70 x 40 mm which makes this tool small in size and is designed to be installed in all conditions and positions according to the request of PT. TML, the test results of the vibration value of the prototype have a result of 2% greater while the temperature is 1.5% greater than the value on the measuring instrument.

Abstract

Kebutuhan masyarakat akan pangan, seperti sayur dan buah-buahan, meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk. Salah satu solusi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan ini adalah dengan budidaya hidroponik, yang memungkinkan pertanian lebih efisien di lahan terbatas. Salah satu tanaman yang sering dibudidayakan secara hidroponik adalah pakcoy. Namun, tanaman pakcoy rentan terhadap serangan hama, terutama ulat yang merusak daun, sehingga diperlukan sistem pengendalian hama yang efektif. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem pendeteksi hama ulat pada tanaman pakcoy berbasis Raspberry Pi dengan menggunakan metode object detection menggunakan algoritma YOLO (You Only Look Once). Sistem ini bekerja dengan mengambil gambar daun pakcoy menggunakan USB-CAM, kemudian menganalisisnya untuk mendeteksi keberadaan hama ulat. Jika hama terdeteksi, sistem secara otomatis mengaktifkan penyemprotan pestisida untuk mengendalikan hama tersebut. Pengujian dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi akurasi dan efisiensi sistem. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem memiliki akurasi deteksi sebesar 86%, dengan rata-rata waktu deteksi 1,2 detik per gambar. Selain itu, penggunaan pestisida menjadi lebih efisien karena penyemprotan hanya dilakukan pada tanaman yang terdeteksi terkena hama, sehingga dapat mengurangi pemborosan pestisida. Sistem ini memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan peningkatan akurasi model deteksi, integrasi dengan Internet of Things (IoT) untuk pemantauan jarak jauh, serta pengujian di berbagai kondisi pencahayaan dan lingkungan pertanian yang berbeda. Implementasi sistem ini diharapkan dapat membantu petani hidroponik dalam mengendalikan hama secara lebih efisien dan ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Contamination of pathogenic bacteria in milk can cause milk spoilage and become a gateway for disease transmission to humans. Salmonella sp. is one of the pathogenic bacteria that contaminates milk and can be transmitted to humans who consume the milk. The safety of milk in relation to foodborne diseases is an important thing to consider. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the contamination of pathogenic bacteria in milk. The purpose of this study was to design a Salmonella sp. detection tool in milk based on Electronic Nose (E-nose). The research was carried out through several stages, namely making block diagrams, mechanical design, Arduino design and tool testing. The design of the tool made using the MQ-136 sensor which will detect Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas. The results of the tool test showed the reading results of the MQ-136 sensor for milk without Salmonella sp. culture of 92-118 ppm while the reading of the MQ-136 sensor for milk given Salmonella sp. culture was 126-166 ppm. The design of the Salmonella sp. detection tool in milk based on the electronic nose was successfully made. The test results showed that there was a difference in the reading results of the MQ-136 sensor.

Abstract

Data security is a crucial aspect in the era of Industry 4.0, where nearly all technologies are based on the Internet of Things (IoT). According to recent reports, while security advancements in software and hardware computing have shown progress in recent years, the security level of IoT devices remains lagging. To address this issue, this study proposes a solution by securing IoT devices through the implementation of TLS (Transport Layer Security) with the AES algorithm using the MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocol. This research aims to ensure data integrity during communication and prevent data theft by encrypting transmitted data, rendering it inaccessible to unauthorized parties. The testing was conducted by comparing parameters such as RAM (Random Access Memory) usage, CPU (Central Processing Unit) usage on the ESP32 device, and communication delay. The results show that the TLS implementation resulted in an average remaining RAM of 180,256 bytes out of 520 KB, CPU usage of 0.53% out of 240 MHz, and a communication delay of 0.475 seconds. In comparison, without TLS implementation, the average remaining RAM was 224,825 bytes out of 520 KB, CPU usage was 0.2% out of 240 MHz, and the delay was 0.248 seconds. Based on these findings, the difference in resource usage on the ESP32 before and after implementing TLS is concluded to be not significantly impactful. Keywords: IoT, MQTT, AES, RAM, CPU

Abstract

Generally, traffic light control systems in Indonesia only regulate based on fixed time. This becomes a problem when there is a buildup of vehicles on one side. From the results of field observations, one of the causes of this buildup is due to the setting of the lights that do not adjust the speed of the vehicle which is connected to the determination of the duration of the green light. In this study, a prototype system of plant traffic light control was created using a fuzzy logic system applied to the ATmega32 microcontroller. By comparing the speed of the car on each side, data was obtained from the algorithm that can be used to regulate the time of the traffic lights in each direction. The prototype that was created functions adaptively. From the results of this study using the prototype, it was found that by regulating the duration of the green light in the traffic light system, a success rate of 99.97% was obtained. Where if the vehicle speed is high, the green light duration value becomes fast and vice versa.
