Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a fundamental requirenment in Education. ICT plays an important role in improving the quality of higher education. In improving the quality of higher education, especially Hindus-based colleges, a management model of academic service management is needed in terms of policy makers, planners, organizers, implementers, and controlling the quality of academic services. The data was collected throughout observation, interviews, and document analysis. Particularly for data analysis, an interactive model was used including data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results of this study indicated that the application of quality management of ICT-based academic services is highly effective in higher education because of policy documents and quality control instrumentation which resulted on an optimal and fast service processes, easy coordination and integration between many ICT-based academic service institutions, academic information system database (SIAKAD) and PDDIKTI, a qualified control institutions specifically in aspects of institutional structure, human resources, and quality instrumentation; and there is a commitment from all steakholder owners to implement a quality and ICT-based culture.

Abstract

This paper aimed to describe the improvement of the quality of early childhood learning by utilizing various multimedia. The method used was a literature study by exploring various thoughts in various sources that have focused on conducting studies on early childhood education and various multimedia developed. Improving the quality of early childhood learning is very important to be performed in an effort to educate children as early as possible, so that children grow and develop as intelligent individuals, both intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. Teachers and parents need to understand and use various multimedia and guide children so that various aspects of development such as phases and tasks of child development can take place optimally.

Abstract

This study is to analyze the teachings of yajna as the basis for the character formation of learners in Gurukula Junior High School. As a school that implements the pasraman education system, the Gurukula Junior High School in making the program of activities that will be applied in schools is always based on religious teachings. This research use qualitative research method by using research instrument of interview, observation and also documentation study. The results of data analysis in this study using qualitative description. The result of this study is that the yajna teachings applied in the First Middle School Gurukula is a simple yajna teaching such as cleaning the pasraman environment, cooking for all residents of the dorm, greeting every visitor. The activity is very effective to form and develop the good character of learners like honest, responsible, independent, friendly and polite, discipline and so forth.

Abstract

The era of globalization has an impact on the emergence of intense competition in various sectors such as; in the field of science and technology, economics and others. Competition in maintaining or competing for various sectors requires the existence of competent human beings in order to continue to exist in the midst of socio-cultural changes and the rapid development of science and technology. Speaking of the quality of education, the education component is certainly a central point which will affect the quality of education produced. One component of education in question is the existence of teachers or educators.Principals play an important role in increasing teacher motivation and competence in schools. The failure of school principals to create effective and efficient learning conditions will have an impact on the future of students, often educators are also used as "scapegoats", whereas other aspects such as problems in budget constraints, low attention to teachers, supervision of the curriculum, education regulations contribute low quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the basic skills of teaching sixth semester students of the Hindu Education Study Program STKIP Agama Hindu Amlapura 2016/2017 academic year through the application of peer teaching simulation based on Nyaya Darsana technique. The subjects in this study were the sixth semester students of the Hindu Education Study Program 2016/2017 academic year totaling 31 people. The data in this study were collected by tests and the results were analyzed quantitatively supported by qualitative interpretations. The results show that the application of peer teaching simulation with Nyaya Darsana technique can improve the basic teaching skills of the sixth semester students of the Hindu Education Study Program STKIP Agama Hindu Amlapura 2016/2017 academic year from the percentage of success in the first cycle of 87,10% to 93,55% in cycle II. Meanwhile, the average value also increased from 73.42 in the first cycle to 74,97 in the second cycle. Therefore, the application of peer teaching simulation with Nyaya Darsana technique is recommended to be used in lectures that target the formation of skills or competencies of prospective teachers.

Abstract

One of the efforts to improve the quality of higher education is to provide excellent service on the academic needs of each student as a user (customer) of service college. Several factor which effect the quality of academic services include adequate learning facilities in terms of services that fit the student needs. This research is motivated by the gap between empirical phenomena and t he prevailing theory, where student often do not feel satisfied with the quality of academic services provided, such as facilities are not in accordance with the expectations of students as cutomers. This study aims to describe and analyze the effect of learning facilities utilization towards quality of academic services for study program at the School of Postgraduate Studies Indonesia University of Education. The methode used in this study is a survey methode with a quantitative approach. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire. The sampled-subject are students from 36 existing courses at the School of Postgraduate Studies Indonesia University of Education amounting to 352 student. The result show that the general picture of the quality of academic services for study program at School of Postgraduate Studies Indonesia University of Education are in the category. As for the use of learning facilities in the fairly well category. Utilization of the facilities have a significant influence on the quality of academic services for study program.

Abstract

The problem of this study is the low mastery of computer-based learning media or information technology for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers. The low mastery capacity of learning media directly influences the low competency in conducting educational education. Current curriculum demands teachers are required to master the use of technology in classroom learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the mastery of learning media materials and competencies in conducting educational learning. This research is a field research quantitative descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were Information and Communication Technology-Based Learning Media Training Participants for Teachers of Islamic Education in Kuningan District, West Java Province. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires, observation, interviews and documentation studies. The results showed that mastery of learning media material had an average value of 85.86 which was categorized as good. While mastery of competency in organizing learning that educates has an average value of 80.5 which means it has a good category.

Abstract

Teachers have a very significant role in improving the quality of education, notably at the level of basic education that equips students with the ability to provide basic knowledge and skills. Teacher working group of Hinduism which is as a spot for teachers of Hinduism at the elementary school level in professional teacher training and helping to solve problems faced in carrying out the learning process needs to get the attention of various parties. Therefore, this paper attempted to examine the teacher's competency in relation to the teacher working group with the title of “Improving the Quality of Competency of Hindu Religion Teachers through Teacher Working Group in Denpasar City”. This paper used the qualitative research method, the location of the research was in the Hindu teacher working group spot in Denpasar City, the type of data was descriptive, with primary and secondary data sources, the informant determination techniques used purposive sampling technique, data collection methods used observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation, as well as used data analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that, first, the form of activity of the Hindu Teachers Working Group in Denpasar, namely holding workshops, conducting routine meetings, and carrying out Tirtayatra. Second, the constraints and efforts made in improving the competence of Hinduism teachers are human resources and infrastructure. By Karen, the struggles made were to hold workshops as an effort to promote the human resources of teachers as professionals, and efforts to rent places and infrastructure so that activities could run well. Third, the role of the teacher working group in improving the competence of Hindu religion teachers is to play a role in four Hindu religious teacher competencies, namely pedagogical competence, personality competence, social competence, and professional competence.

Abstract

Student’s learning satisfaction is one of measuring tools of the success of learning process which would be realized through learning outcomes. This statement has been widely proven through various studies that have been done related to the learning satisfaction and learning outcomes. This article aims to describe three main points relating to the vital position of learning satisfaction as a determinant factor of student learning outcomes namely; (1) factors affecting learning satisfaction, (2) the influence of learning satisfaction on learning outcomes, and (3) how to measure learning satisfaction as well as examples of instruments that have been developed and used by researchers. The main source of this article was the research results from around the world that raised the learning satisfaction as the main topic. This paper was expected to provide an additional knowledge about learning satisfaction variables, so it can be utilized to carry out more in-depth research.

Abstract

The quality assurance system at Higher Education (especially in STKIP PGRI Tulungagung) is a must that must be done systemically, planning and sustainable through the establishment, implementation, evaluation, control and improvement of National Education Standards. In its implementation, the quality assurance system at STKIP PGRI Tulungagung has not run in accordance with the demands of the rules that are planned in a planned and consistent manner so that quality assurance is carried out sporadically.The study used a qualitative approach with the research subjects being policy makers (Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and Head of the Quality Assurance Agency), as well as the academics of STKIP PGRI Tulungagung, data collection techniques, using observation, interviewing, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques use the Miles and Huberman models. And in checking the validity of the data, researchers extended their participation, observation persistence, triangulation and peer discussion.The results show that; first, quality assurance at STKIP PGRI Tulungagung has been carried out through the STKIP PGRI Tulungagung Education Quality Assurance Agency, while the quality assurance activities at STKIP PGRI Tulungagung are oriented towards strengthening and fulfilling the accreditation of study programs; second, the factors that become obstacles in quality assurance at STKIP PGRI Tulungagung are (a) the unavailability of quality manual documents; (b) the low level of leadership and academics, (c) human resources, (d) commitment, third communication technology systems, as well as strategies for improving quality assurance that must be carried out by institutions namely through meeting national quality standards.The findings above are recommended; first, to the leadership of STKIP PGRI Tulungagung to improve insight, commitment and quality awareness as well quality culture through establishment, implementation and evaluation, control and increase in the National Standards for Higher Education in the STKIP PGRI Tulungagung environment
