Abstract

INDONESIAN BREASTFEED-SUPPORTING FATHER: INTERVENTIONS FOR FORMING THE CHARACTER OF BREASTFEEDING FATHER IN PALEMBANG. Exclusive breastfeeding is the most effective and beneficial method for the health of mother and baby. Many factors influence the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Fathers can play a role in this but most fathers do not know the concept of exclusive breastfeeding. Some of this is due to the promotion of the health of fathers who tend not to be involved. So that this service aims to provide intervention to young fathers in order to know the concept of exclusive breastfeeding and know its role in the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Dedication was carried out in the city of Palembang in the District of Alang-alang Lebar on as many as 25 fathers. Dedication is carried out using leaflets with interesting illustrations along with explanations from enumerators. This dedication is useful to give an understanding to fathers that the wife who has just given birth does not only need material support but is also important to provide emotional support.

Abstract

MULTI LEVEL COMMUNITY SERVICE DEPARTEMENT OF MATHEMATICS EDUCATION AT THE STATE ISLAMIC UNIVERSIY OF SULTHAN THAHA SAIFUDDIN JAMBI THROUGH RUMAH PINTAR INTEGRASI. Departement of Mathematics Education has a forum for community service namely Rumah Pintar Integrasi (RPI). The lecture method is used for multi-level knowledge transfer. The implementation of this community service program has produced results, namely the formation of the RPI with the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers of the State Islamic University of Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi Number 223 Year 2019 regarding the Establishment of RPI Management and was officially launched and symbolized cutting ribbon by Deputy Dean II. Activities to improve understanding of mathematical concepts have been carried out and obtained results that there is a significant increase between the pretest and posttest scores. The community service activity of the Department of Mathematics Education was carried out in January 2020 with the concept of students giving free tutoring to "SD / MI" schools in preparation for the UN. There are around 200 students spread in 147 elementary schools in Jambi Province and even in other provinces. implemented multi-level community service in mathematics education majors.

Abstract

INTEGRATED THEMATIC LEARNING TRAINING AND AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT OF 21ST CENTURY COMPETENCIES FOR TEACHERS OF SDN SRENGSENG SAWAH 12 PAGI. Integrated Thematic Learning is an approach in learning that intentionally links several aspects both within intra subjects and between subjects. With this integration, students will gain full knowledge and skills so that learning becomes meaningful for students. The meaning of Integrated Thematic learning is a learning approach that involves several subjects to provide meaningful experiences to students. Identification of partner problems, namely: (1) Teachers lack knowledge in implementing variations of learning approaches and learning models, (2) Lack of teacher understanding related to integrated thematic approaches, and (3) Lack of teacher understanding related to authentic assessment based 21st Century competence. The training activities were carried out in four sessions. Some of the material activities held at this training include: (a) Understanding and Reinforcement of Pedagogical Competence and Teacher Professionalism, (b) Understanding Integrated Thematic Learning,(c) Understanding of Evaluation of Learning Implementation Plans and Learning Assessment, and (d) Understanding of the Authentic Assessment of 21st Century Competence. Participants in this activity were attended by 16 teachers at SDN Srengseng Sawah 12 Pagi. Through the training that has been done, the teachers of Srengseng Sawah 12 Pagi Elementary School can better understand and be motivated to carry out integrated thematic approaches and authentic assessments correctly in the School.

Abstract

TRAINING TO TEACH LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICS BASED ON MONTESSORY METHODS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. An important aspect that determines learning success is the learning method used by the teacher. Teacher prospective teachers should have broad insights related to learning methods. Prospective teachers and teachers need to vary the learning model. Montessori method is one method that follows the natural tendencies of children and teachers need to prepare learning that follows the stages of child development. Based on these thoughts, community service is carried out to help prospective teachers and teachers' insights about the Montessori method. The sequence of community service activities is the training and mentoring of prospective teachers, the implementation of learning by the Montessori method by prospective teachers, evaluation and reflection on the results of implementation, preparation of training materials for elementary school teachers, and the activity ends with the evaluation and training of Montessori methods for elementary teachers. The result of community service is that prospective teachers are happy to have classroom experience and 100% of students are happy because they are involved in innovative learning activities, the Montessori method. In addition, teachers also get experience training in Montessori methods.

Abstract

INCREASING THE COMPETENCE OF SCIENCE TEACHERS OF SMP/MTSN LUBUK SIKAPING THROUGH CONTEXTUAL-BASED LEARNING MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT TRAINING. This activity aims to improve the competence of science teachers SMP/MTsN Lubuk Sikaping through training development of contextual based teaching materials. To achieve the objectives and targets set, the method used consists of observation, orientation and discussion, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The instruments used are tests of understanding of the material and questionnaire responses of trainees. Data analysis techniques used are paired t test and percentage analysis Based on data analysis, obtained the average value of pretest is 46.2676 and at postest 63.0672. Furthermore, paired t test, obtained results of significance 0.000 <0.05. This indicates that there is an increase in the competence of IPA teachers of SMP/MTsN Lubuk Sikaping through training of contextual based teaching materials. Based on the questionnaire given at the end of the training activities, that the activity is very useful and related to the subjects which is taught in schools.

Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF EMPOWERMENT AND DEMONSTRATION OF “LOW SALT DIET” MENU SKILL ON PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION. There are 60% of people with hypertension ending in stroke, while the rest in blindness, kidney failure, and various heart diseases. JNC-8 recommends limiting high intake of salt as one of the preventions of hypertension. Public facilities or facilities especially health facilities are still minimal, health personnel are still lacking, internet access is very limited, making To'bungku village, Banggai Islands less updated on health information related to education or counseling and health empowerment training about "Low Salt Diet "Button. This activity aims to help people with hypertension to recognize and understand health education programs and low-salt diet exercises. The method used through educational training is through media leaflets, booklets, log books, and LCD projectors, demonstrations of low-salt menu cooking skills, regular meetings, and follow-up discussions. The output of this activity is an increase in community understanding and skills in selecting and preparing low-salt food ingredients. Dissemination of events in the form of scientific publication of products, booklets, and log books as other output material. Educational training activities and regular meetings by empowering participants about the management of hypertension through low salt diet interventions have a positive effect on those who are hypertensive to start implementing a low salt diet. Further involvement of health workers and family support is needed in following-up on the adoption of a low salt diet.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS EDUCATION TO PREVENT STIGMA AND DISCRIMINATION AS A RESULT OF COMMUNITY DIAGNOSIS OF HEALTH PROBLEMS IN NGANGKRUK HAMLET, PILANGREJO VILLAGE, NGLIPAR, GUNUNG KIDUL, YOGYAKARTA. HIV/AIDS cases are an iceberg phenomenon, with fewer people being reported than they really are. The attitude of rejection and discrimination among People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in society are influenced by many factors, one of which is knowledge of HIV/AIDS. Secondary data that has been obtained from Ngangkruk Hamlet showed that the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS was still very low, which can lead to stigma and discrimination. Community diagnosis method carried out includes the following stages: 1.) identification of problems used the PIS-PK questionnaire, 2.) determining priority problems used USG method, 3.) selecting alternative solutions to problems using SWOT, 4.) determining priority problem solving using the effectiveness method- efficiency, 5.) problem-solving actions using HIV/AIDS education programs to prevent stigma and discrimination. Result showed that HIV/AIDS education in order to prevented stigma and discrimination was carried out by means of extension methods used power point media and posters. Assessment of information delivery was carried out using the game “who’s smart”. The responses from the participants showed good enthusiasm for the material presented.

Abstract

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION STRENGTHENING TO IMPROVE PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING OF BURUH GENDONG WOMEN IN GIWANGAN MARKET. Everyone efforts to meet their needs are pursued in various ways in life. A unique thing that happens in Yogyakarta precisely in the Giwangan market is that a number of elderly women continue to make a living in surprising ways. Some elderly women, who were then called buruh gendong, lifted items that were more than normal. With a piece of striated batik cloth, they can lift weights of more than 50 kg. These buruh gendong work from morning till dawn. Its activities have been taken a long time until they have advanced age. Almost all of these workers are Muslims, the problem is that they are tired from working all day and the schedule cannot be ascertained, making them lose their time to worship and do not have time to study. Initial survey results show that many of them have not been able to read the Qur'an. So that this service aims to provide assistance in the context of strengthening the religious character, especially through the Qur'an recitation. The output of this service is expected to create a religious atmosphere in the Giwangan market. The workers work but also can maintain and feel the meaningfulness of their lives through mentoring to strengthen the religious character. This dedication works in collaboration with the Annisa Swasti Foundation (YASANTI), which has long accompanied them in the process of advocating and organizing workers in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

INCREASING FAMILY IMMUNITY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP CULTURE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC THROUGH TOGA CULTIVATION IN TEMPURSARI VILLAGE, CANDIMULYO, MAGELANG. Regional economic development is the process of local government and society in managing potential local commodity resources. Development programs are not only seen from an economic or physical perspective, but also in the health sector. This pandemic condition needs developments in the health sector. Tempursari Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency has a very good potential to develop family medicinal plants. The Program Kemitraan Wilayah (PKW) team from the University of Muhammadiyah Magelang and Untidar empowered the people of Tempursari Village to cultivate medicinal plants on demonstration plot lands owned by village treasury lands. Cultivation or planting that is done is planting pepper, lime and lemongrass. The purpose of planting is so that these plants can be used as an immune booster. The harvest results from these medicinal plants can later be processed into a preparation so that a new business unit appears in Tempursari Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency.

Abstract

HATINYA PKK PROGRAM IN SUPPORTING FOOD INDEPENDENCE. A lot of productive land in Kembangarum, Donokerto, Turi, Sleman, DIY is used for the cultivation of salak pondoh, so that the area of land for food and vegetable crops has decreased. There needs to be an alternative land that can be developed for the cultivation of food crops, and one of the potential lands is yards. So far, the yards in Kembangarum have not been used optimally, and are only limited to social interaction, a place to play, a garden or planting less productive plants. To optimize the use of the yard and realize the Hatinya PKK in the Kembangarum, it is necessary to increase the knowledge and skills of members of PKK in managing the yard so that there needs to be guidance in the form of community service. Community service was conducted using several methods, including community education, training, science and technology diffusion, and consultation. The results of the community service show that the Hatinya PKK Program in supporting food safety in Kembangarum were carried out and running well. The community gave positive responses by participating in the activity fully and getting experience and skills in managing the yard, even getting appreciation from the government by being appointed as a representative of the Turi sub-district in the Evaluasi Desa Unggulan Hatinya PKK at Sleman Regency level.
