Abstract

The success of implementing the quality management system (QMS) ISO 9001:2008 for the family companies that applying in the initial stage will be the beginning of the strategic competitiveness. To develop, implement, control, and improve the QMS, it required roles, responsibilities, and sufficient authority for implementing actors. In this study, five hypotheses put forward by processing 30 data samples from the two companies of truck and bemo, and motorcycle parts’s company. The results of hypothesis testing showed the successful application of SMM in the family companies that already implementing QMS in the initial stage, significantly influenced by the roles, responsibilities, and authority from top management, and bridged with the role and tasks of the management representative and companion consultant.

Abstract

One of the service industries that grow faster than the others is insurance industry. Since there are a lot of companies that involved in this kind of industry, clients need to select a certain company that served the best service compared to the others. The objectives of this research are to determine the most important service dimension based on the customers' opinion, to measure customers' expected and perceived values of each service dimension, and to determine which company that provide the best services on each service dimension. This research used servqual method. The questionnaire was distributed to 260 clients of 10 well-known insurance industries in Surabaya. They were asked about five service dimensions, i.e.: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The result shows that the most important service dimension is empathy. The highest expected values is reliability. The service dimension which provide the best service is tangible. Generally there are no companies that exceed the customers' expected values Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Salah satu industri jasa yang sangat pesat pertumbuhannya adalah jasa asuransi. Memilih penyedia jasa asuransi yang tepat wajib dilakukan sekalipun bukan hal yang mudah. Hal ini disebabkan kewajiban nasabah sudah harus ditempuh, sementara manfaat asuransi baru diperoleh beberapa bulan atau tahun kemudian. Nasabah perlu mengetahui perusahaan asuransi mana yang memberikan layanan baik. Sementara perusahaan asuransi juga perlu mengetahui dimensi layanan apa saja yang dianggap penting oleh nasabah, serta harapan dan kepuasan nasabah untuk masing-masing dimensi layanan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode service quality (servqual), terhadap 260 nasabah dari 10 perusahaan asuransi besar di Surabaya untuk lima dimensi layanan, yaitu tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance dan empathy. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dimensi empathy yang tertinggi tingkat kepentingannya. Dimensi reliability menjadi dimensi dengan tingkat harapan terbesar. Dimensi dengan layanan terbaik adalah tangible. Secara keseluruhan masih terjadi gap antara harapan dan kepuasan responden. Kata kunci: Kualitas layanan, metode servqual, analisis gap.

Abstract

The article describes the quality improvement program in a speaker company%2C through the implementation of six sigma philosophy; design a quality control system to support the result of the philosophy implementation%2C helped by the house of quality. The improvement of the quality level to 6ƒã is done by knowing the speaker¡¦s critical to quality (CTQ). The CTQ improved by minimized the highest defect. There are an analysis to six sigma indicator and the quality cost. The result is a quality improvement through the two type of speaker%2C 12¡¨ C-1230 PA ACR Pro New and 12¡¨ 30H120 SRW-38B ACR Pro New. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Artikel ini membahas program peningkatan kualitas di sebuah perusahaan speaker melalui implementasi filosofi six sigma%2C perancangan perbaikan sistem pengendalian kualitas guna mendukung hasil implementasi%2C dengan bantuan rumah mutu. Peningkatan level kualitas ke arah 6ƒã dilakukan dengan mengetahui karakteritik kritis konsumen terhadap produk speaker%2C yang kemudian diperbaiki dengan meminimalkan kecacatan tertinggi. Analisa dilakukan terhadap indikator keberhasilan six sigma dan biaya kualitas. Perbandingan indikator keberhasilan menyatakan adanya peningkatan kualitas terhadap kedua tipe speaker yaitu 12¡¨ C-1230 PA ACR Pro New dan 12¡¨ 30H120 SRW-38B ACR Pro New. Abstract

Integrated production-distribution problem resolution using analytical model lacks of consideration of many uncertainties along supply chain line such as delays, queues, machine breakdown, vehicle malfunction, and environmental factor. By utilizing simulation as complex stochastic system modelling, this research aims to develop hybrid analytical-simulation approach to resolve integrated production-distribution model. Time capacity adjustment is required if production-distribution plan obtained from analytical model requires longer production and delivery time than available. The adjustment is using a procedure developed based on duration obtained from simulation model and is used to obtain adjusted time capacity. The implementation of hybrid method to resolve integrated production-distribution problem on two echelon supply chain with 2 factories and 5 DCs shows a feasible solution was obtained on the third iteration

Abstract

Kalman filter is an algorithm to estimate the state variable of dynamical stochastic system. The square root ensemble Kalman filter is an modification of Kalman filter. The square root ensemble Kalman filter is proposed to keep the computational stability and reduce the computational time. In this paper we study the efficiency of the reduced rank ensemble Kalman filter. We apply this algorithm to the non isothermal continue stirred tank reactor problem. We decompose the covariance of the ensemble estimation by using the singular value decomposition (the SVD), and then we reduced the rank of the diagonal matrix of those singular values. We make a simulation by using Matlab program. We took some the number of ensemble such as 100, 200 and 500. We compared the computational time and the accuracy between the square root ensemble Kalman filter and the ensemble Kalman filter. The reduced rank ensemble Kalman filter can’t be applied in this problem because the dimension of state variable is too less.

Abstract

Untuk memegang benda-kerja pada tempatnya, diperlukan penetap (fixture). Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya membahas keseimbangan gaya dan momen yang berbasis pada model kinematik penetap, teori ulir (screw theory), melibatkan gaya kontak serta kesalahan posisi. Permasalahan yang paling mendasar dalam desain penetap adalah menentukan koordinat lokator dan klem serta gaya klem, agar benda-kerja stabil selama proses pemesinan. Makalah ini membahas model optimasi untuk menentukan koordinat lokator dan klem serta gaya klem, dengan memperhatikan keseimbangan gaya dan momen. Secara spesifik, model optimasi yang dikembangkan untuk permasalahan penetapan (fixturing) benda-kerja dengan prinsip 3-2-1 menggunakan klem tunggal. Untuk menunjukkan operasionalisasi model, digunakan contoh numerik penetapan benda-kerja nyata yang diselesaikan menggunakan perangkat-lunak Exel/Solver.

Abstract

Product reliability improvement projects have shown promising results for industries to preserve customer satisfaction. Therefore, best practices on reliability improvement in industries that operate in high volume consumer product can be used as a reference toward managing product reliability improvement. In reliability improvement the method should not only focus on how to achieve the expected deliverable but also to sustain the improvement itself and to close the improvement loop. The importance of managing product reliability improvement is on how to ensure that the project moves to the right direction without loosing its flexibility.

Abstract

Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) merupakan teknik pencarian rute yang dimulai dari satu titik awal, setiap kota harus dikunjungi sekali dan kemudian kembali ke tempat asal sehingga total jarak atau waktu perjalanan adalah minimum. Untuk mengatasi kedakpastian jarak atau waktu perjalanan, maka perlu dilakukan pengembangan model TSP. Salah satu bidang Optimisasi yang mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan terkait ketidakpastian adalah Optimisasi Robust. Dalam makalah ini dibahas mengenai penerapan Optimisasi Robust pada TSP (RTSP) menggunakan pendekatan Box Uncertainty dan diselesaikan dengan menggunakan Metode Branch and Bound. Disajikan simulasi numerik pada software aplikasi Maple untuk beberapa kasus nyata terkait penerapan Optimisasi RTSP , seperti masalah manajemen konstruksi, penentuan jarak tempuh kota di Pulau Jawa, dan Penentuan Rute Mandiri Fun Run.

Abstract

Recently, one of the central topics for the neural networks (NN) community is the issue of data preprocessing on the use of NN. In this paper, we will investigate this topic particularly on the effect of Decomposition method as data processing and the use of NN for modeling effectively time series with both trend and seasonal patterns. Limited empirical studies on seasonal time series forecasting with neural networks show that some find neural networks are able to model seasonality directly and prior deseasonalization is not necessary, and others conclude just the opposite. In this research, we study particularly on the effectiveness of data preprocessing, including detrending and deseasonalization by applying Decomposition method on NN modeling and forecasting performance. We use two kinds of data, simulation and real data. Simulation data are examined on multiplicative of trend and seasonality patterns. The results are compared to those obtained from the classical time series model. Our result shows that a combination of detrending and deseasonalization by applying Decomposition method is the effective data preprocessing on the use of NN for forecasting trend and seasonal time series.
