PROFIL OF PEDAGOGIC AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELORS IN BANDUNG CITY. This study aims to get a profile and description of pedagogic and professional competencies of guidance and counseling teachers (counselor) in Bandung. The research used the quantitative approach with survey methods. The population of this research is 127 counselors of the senior high school in Bandung. The Instrument was the development of Permendiknas No. 27 Tahun 2008 concerning Academic Qualification Standards and Counselor Competencies with ten aspects related to pedagogic and professional competencies. Data analysis techniques in this research are descriptive analysis techniques. The result of the research shows that the profile of counselors is in the competent category but in several aspects need some developed. The result of the research can be used as a need assessment for supervisor in understanding counselors competencies so that it can be used as a basis to provide guidance and counseling services effectively and efficiently.

This study aimed to investigate the perceived problems of strike action and deviant behavior in selected higher institutions in Ekiti State, Nigeria. The descriptive research design of ex-post-facto type was used in the study. Three hundred respondents were selected randomly from two Universities. The respondents were measured with a self-developed scale, and the data obtained were analyzed using descriptive (mean) statistical analysis. Four research questions were raised and answered. The result showed that causes of strike action in selected higher institutions include non-payment of teacher’s salaries, low responds to problems confronting schools among others, problems of strike action in selected higher institutions include production of half-baked graduates, youth involvement in secret cult, widespread of examination malpractice, causes of deviant behavior in selected higher institutions include parental neglect, drug addiction, high level of poverty among others and problems of deviant behavior in selected higher institutions include incessant strike action, widespread of examination malpractice, prevalence of teenage pregnancy among others. Given these findings, the study recommended that school counselors should identify deviant behaviors and counsel adolescents on how it can be prevented and that Government should deem it fit to respond to the yearnings and aspirations of the workers in terms of quick payment of their salaries and other emoluments.

EFFECTIVENESS OF COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR COUNSELING GROUP TO INCREASE THE POSITIVE SELF CONCEPT OF MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. This study aims to test the effectiveness of counseling cognitive behavior group to improve the positive self-concept of students in junior high. This research uses a pre-experimental pretest type posttest one-group design. The data analysis used is paired test of T-test, to see the change of positive self-concept level in the experimental group between pretest and posttest by looking at t-table price at degrees of freedom (dk), that is the magnitude is N-1, significant α = 0,05 (95%) then got t-table. = 1.782 assuming if t count> t-table then Ha “received.” The results of data analysis of the responses of respondents about positive self-concept show positive self-concept students before intervention is in the category of being, and there is still a low category of 13 respondents. As for after the treatment, based on the posttest results, indicate the criteria of self-concept positive students, no one is in a low category. From the test result using T-Test, it is proved that counseling group of cognitive behavior is effective to improve the positive self-concept of junior high school students, because the value of t count> t table (7.597> 1.782), then the hypothesis that the writer proposed in the form of alternative hypothesis (Ha) the effectiveness of counseling cognitive behavior group to improve the positive self-concept of junior high school students, Ha “accepted”.

Lack of career exploration leads to career indecisiveness among Indonesian high school students. According to some studies, successful career exploration is determined by students’ initiative. However, no consistent answer about factors that make the students self-directedly engage in career exploration. This study is aimed to explore student’s self-directedness during the career exploration, including the factors that encourage student’s career exploratory behavior. This single case study used semi-structured interview and document analysis to investigate the experience of one Indonesian high school student. Two themes emerged from the data: involvement factor in career exploration, which determined by internal and external influence, and qualities of self-directedness, which is reflected by the employment of strategies and self-awareness. Recommendation for parents and educators to provide exposure to various activities, explicit teaching of self-directed learning and related skills is also essential to build students’ initiative in career exploration.

THE ROLE OF EMOTION REGULATION AND PARENTAL ATTENTION ON SOCIAL PROBLEM-SOLVING OF BOARDING SCHOOL'S ADOLESCENT. This study aimed to know the correlation of emotion regulation and parental attention to social problem solving of boarding school adolescents. The research subjects were 65 students of SMAN CMBBS who were selected by simple random sampling method. The instruments used are social problem-solving scale, emotion regulation scale, and parental attention scale. Data were analyzed by multiple regression analysis. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between emotion regulation and parental attention with social problem solving for SMAN CMBBS adolescents, with p = 0.00 (R = 0.699). Partial correlation test proves that there is a significant correlation between emotional regulation and social problem solving for SMAN CMBBS adolescents (p = 0.00; rx1y = 0.549). Partial correlation also proves that there is a significant relationship of parental attention to social problem solving for adolescent CMBBS (p = 0.032; rx2y = 0.268). GROUP GUIDANCE SERVICES WITH A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO IMPROVE CAREER PLANNING ABILITY IN VOCATIONAL STUDENTS. This study aims to improve career planning through Guidance Groups in AP-1 Class XI Students of 29 Jakarta Vocational School Odd Semester 2018/2019 Academic Year. After analyzing can be found more deeply, two factors can because, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors are the factors related to the guidance teacher as the implementer of counseling, including the skills and attitudes of the counselor. Guiding skills are the main factor in the success of counseling at school. External factors are factors that come from outside the supervise of the teacher, including the principal's policies, and students' knowledge and understanding of counseling. The problem examined in this study is how to improve the material guidance, service of career and to plan through group guidance methods can improve students' communication skills as a variable y while consulting service guidance as a variable x. Communication skills improvement was measured through questionnaires that contained interest in counseling, counseling, understanding of BK, trust in BK and attitudes towards counseling stating that students' interest in counseling would increase through group guidance methods arranged according to the sequence of student interests that could be verified.

SELF-EFFICACY AND ACADEMIC BURNOUT FOR WORKING STUDENTS. Academic burnout refers to stress, burden or other psychological factors because the learning process is followed by students so that it shows the state of emotional fatigue, tendency to depersonalization, and feeling of low personal achievement. There are individual factors that can affect burnout; one of the individual factors that can influence academic burnout is academic self-efficacy. This study aims to determine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic burnout in working students. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that there is a negative relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic burnout on students who work. Based on the phenomenon occurred at all level of education, it was found that the circumstances of the schools were unsafe and uncomfortable for students and academics. There were a number of direct and indirect violence carried out at schools and it had impacts on physical and psychological health of students. There was no existence of positive peace in the form of structural violence, socio-cultural violence, ecological violence and negative peace such as tribal warfare, fights and aggression. What happened actually although the nature of man in conscience had the basic harmony and desire to live together in tranquility? Therefore, the common perception of the concept of peace and peace pedagogy was needed to be created. Teachers as peace educators, thus, played an important role as a figure that had the personality of peace in the classroom and at school. The teacher as a peaceful personality consisted of three components: peaceful states, attitudes, and behavior that were consistent across one’s life spaces and life span. DEVELOPMENT OF NARRATIVE COUNSELING INTERVENTION OF DIGITAL-BASED IN RESPONDING TO THE CHALLENGE OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION ERA 4.0. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 now provides changes that are fast and erratic in all aspects of life, including in the field of education, especially in the field of guidance and counseling. This condition brings opportunities as well as challenges, especially for the millennial generation and for actors who have a role in education, especially in the realm of guidance and counseling in the field in service delivery practices. Narrative counseling is a postmodern counseling approach born of ideas in a post-structuralist philosophy that is very coherent to answer conditions and situations of uncertain change. The purpose of this study is to develop and find out the development of digital-based narrative counseling in balancing changes in the all-going to the digital era, which is now a center for militaries. The method of research is using a qualitative approach to critical study methods. DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR AND TEACHER TREATMENTS CONFIGURATION. This study aims to determine the theoretical concepts, acceptability, practicability, and effectiveness of guidelines for rational emotive counseling, homework assignment techniques, and confrontation techniques. This research is development research with steps: design preparation, design validation, design testing, and design revision. Questionnaire and interview methods collected data, and the data collected were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed: (1) Theoretically rational emotive counseling procedures homework assignment techniques and confrontation techniques include steps: showing the counselee that the problem faced is related to irrational beliefs, bringing the counselee to the opposite stage of consciousness by showing that the counselee is maintained emotional disturbances to stay active by always thinking illogically, correcting the thoughts of the counselee and leaving irrational ideas, challenging the counselee to develop rational philosophies. The difference between the two lies in the things done at each step; (2) Acceptability of rational emotive counseling guidelines for homework assignment techniques and confrontation techniques; (3) The practicality of rational emotive counseling guidelines for homework assignment techniques and confrontation techniques is very high; (4) The effectiveness of rational emotive counseling guidelines for homework assignment techniques and confrontation techniques is very high.
