Abstract

happened because labor organization during the period prohibited to do political activity. The impact is labor organization didn’t have power to influence government policy at labour issue. Since the new order was collapses, labour has become as the political power in politics. Nevertheless that still has not yet become the real power. This Study states its problem is be-cause labour movement organization is fragmented. This Study discusses why this condition can happen. To answer that question, this study uses the approach of relation between state and civil society and use literature study and document in data collecting. The finding is: First, the labor organization in Indonesia haves history burden, especially memory about new order ex-perience that bridles labor movement; The elite of labour movement organization affect different political way, because must follow its political party rule; Last, the labour movement didn't have a movement pattern with tactical and systematic target goals.Keywords: Labour movement, fragmented organization, political participation.

Abstract

Study of civil society are often conducted by political scientist. In general, a reaction to the longstanding dominance of state. Similarly, in the context of Indonesia. These studies discuss the development of the concept of civil society in Indonesia. Analytical tools used in this study is the approach of political sociology. Focused on the relation between religion and state, also talked about the political systems that shape the relationship between state and civil society. To collecting data its using the study of literature and documents and analysis was performed with the method of historical comparison. The study found that in cases in Indonesia there are Muslim intellectuals and activists who think that the concept of democracy is anti-Islamic. Conversely, there are Islamic groups who believe that even if democracy comes from the west though, it is not contrary to the ethical principles of Islam. Democracy is well used by the Islamic community. The community like this is called as civil society berteraskan Islam.Keywords: Civil society, state approach, civil muslim.

Abstract

The dynamics of Japan military after World War II (WWI) are very interesting topic to be discussed because there are always two opposite argument about it. First, some people think that Japan is “not normal” state because since 1945 he has no military forces like other state. On the contrary, some people believed that Japan had been developing his military forces since 1951. Actually, those arguments are true, for the facts that in some point Japan military is not like ordinary one because it just for defense and mostly for non combatant and humanitarian tasks when it send abroad, but it is also very true that Japan military is military as in common term for the facts that they equipped with sophisticated weapons. This article will show us the Japan military facts and his strategy in developing it, which is doing in a very smart way that make some people still think that he is not normal.Keywords: Defense strategy, International politics, International relations

Abstract

The General Elections in 2009 in Indonesia showed a new phenomenon that is the end of the dominance of the old parties of the nationalist-based (Golkar and PDIP). The dominance of the old parties has been replaced by a new nationalist party (Partai Demokrat). This study aimed to look at the factors causing the increase in Partai Demokrat votes. This study found there were five factors causing the increase Partai Demokrat vote. The first factor is the persona of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The second factor is the establishment candidate strategy. The third fac-tor is the success of managing internal conflicts. The fourth factor is the persona of the candi-date. The fifth factor is the performance of the Partai Demokrat. In generally, it’s true persona factor Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has become a powerful magnet in attracting sympathy con-stituen to vote Partai Demokrat, but in that case in Sumatera Utara, local persona factors also become important element of voice improvement Partai Demokrat.Keywords: Political image, Political behavior, Local elite, Political marketing.

Abstract

Election 2009 has provided a description that pragmatism has become a hallmark of the elec-tion. One participant's election is the Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS). As a party, known by the party dakwah, pragmatism shown in the Partai Keadilan Sejahtera course is very contra-dictory Partai Keadilan Sejahtera platform that is very concerned with matters relating to Is-lamic religious values. The study looks at the causes of pragmatism Partai Keadilan Sejahtera. The results showed that the main cause of the attitude of pragmatism by PKS because PKS pre-fer the politics of power politics than preaching. This path was chosen despite Partai Keadilan Sejahtera must accept the risk of abandoned although some of the founders, members, or con-stituents. This clearly shows that the Partai Keadilan Sejahtera such as no other choice than to change the political orientation. Thus the Partai Keadilan Sejahtera is more concerned with se-cular values than the values of Islam as his political views.Keywords: Islamic party, Party dakwah, General elections.

Abstract

Since independence August 17, 1945 to the present President of the Republic of Indonesia has been changing. In this period the power of the president of Indonesia has also experienced the ups and downs. The study looks at the phenomenon of tidal power is the President of Indonesia to the scope just to see and compare the phenomenon of power, President Soekarno and Presi-dent Soeharto. The results show if the period of Sukarno's power throughout the power centered on the president, during the Soeharto era, too. Both the authority of President Soekarno and President Soeharto's rule are both supported by the constitution so that it can be said as a con-stitutional dictator. Can be said to be substantively and procedural powers in the hands of Pres-ident Sukarno and Suharto was perfect. Both also managed to become the center of power and stick to most existing political elite. Thus the historical record in the history of presidential powers Indonesia's political system in the era of President Sukarno and Suharto's power is the history of executive dominance.Keywords: Executive dominance, Political elite, Constitutional dictator.

Abstract

This study analyses about the role and participation of village elite to make new regional gov-ernment administration (Kabupaten). Focused on Kabupaten Bandung Barat this study using the elite approach to analyses who is the main actor inside this agenda. The result seen that village elite (bureaucratic, entrepreneurs) have three method to make the new regional govern-ment administration especially at case of Kabupaten Bandung Barat as a new regional enfold-ment. In this case firstly village elite using his resources like knowledge, influence, and role to show this agenda. Secondly village elite making a link with government of Jawa Barat do the lobby to get supporting from regional government (Gubernur). Thirdly village elite making a networking with elite at center government to make this agenda successful. Without the role and participation of village elite, this agenda will be failed. So, in politics the role and political par-ticipation of elite is significant variable.Keywords: Political elite, Regional enfoldment, Political participation.

Abstract

The General Election in 2009 has been completed in Indonesia, included in Langkat Regency. There is an interesting phenomenon of the conduct of these elections. This study uses political behavioral approach and institusional. This study aimed to look at the votes of political parties in the years 1999-2009. Then, describe the phenomenon of people's choice in the legislative elections in Langkat. The results show that in election years 1999, 2004 and 2009, always going changes in the direction of votes of voters. If in the year 1999 the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) is winning, the most votes in 2004 were replaced by the Golkar Party (Partai Golkar). Next General Election (2009) in the Langkat Regency show the emergence of the Democratic Party (Partai Demokrat) as the party most votes miners. These results indicate that voter’s choices at Langkat Regency are difficult to conjecture. So that it can be said the election results in Langkat follow the election result in national stage.Keywords: General elections, Political parties, Direction of vote.

Abstract

Indonesia nationalism evocation as the same manner as triggered by social organization and politics like Budi Utomo and Syarikat Islam has been disband but later become a strength. This happened because there are the chance equality, aspiration equality, and ideology equality. In other hand outside of Indonesia also felt this effect. The one of country that feels of this is Ma-laysia. This study focused on Indonesia nationalism effect to Malaysia nationalism evocation. Especially explain about how the process of political transformation and Indonesia nationalism to Malaysia. Based on historical approach this study has found that Indonesia nationalism and Malaysia nationalism evocation each other related. Furthermore he came to be as political identities. Political party in Malaysia like UMNO, PAS is the one of organization that has many influenced by spirit of Indonesia nationalism evocation effect. Abstract

This study focused to explain about relation between state and civil society. Especially discuss opposition between them in political perspective approach.  Actually state and civil society are two of vital importance political elements in perspective politics. Both of them, is concept that expand along with era growth. Concept of civil society emerged as respond from state role that too dominant in society and concept of state emerged as respond from society that each other battle. But now, concept of civil society and state has expanded. There are there models rela­tionships by them. First, civil society relations stands up as shield for society and state behavior that tend to hegemonic, authoritarian and repressive. Second, if state not hegemonic, civil so­ciety will emerge as state partner in executing public interest. Third, if public life already ac­commodated by country, civil society can do its function in complementary where civil society emerges to equip society needs. So, in this perspective concept of civil society comprehended as the element of de­mocratization acceleration. Keywords: Civil society, State behaviour, democratization.
