Abstract

ABSTRACT Dysmenorrhea is the most common health problem among female adolescent in Indonesia. Generally, dysmenorrhea decreases the quality of life due to negatively impact on every aspects. This study aim to investigate the prevalence and associated factors with severity of dysmenorrhea among female adolescent aged 15-17 years in Surakarta. This cross-sectional study design conducted among 274 female adolescent aged 15-17 years in State Senior High School 7 Surakarta. The samples selected by stratified random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using chi-square and binary logistic regression test. The results of this study showed the prevalence of dysmenorrhea among female adolescent aged 15-17 years was 89.8%. Several factors such as age of menarche (p<0.001; OR=0.08; 95% CI: 0.03-0.18), menstrual duration (p<0.001; OR=7.54; 95% CI: 3.37-16.86), pain onset (p=0.004; OR=3.34; 95% CI: 1.48-7.51), and pain duration (p<0.001; OR=3.96; 95% CI: 2.07-7.51) were found significantly associated with increased severity of dysmenorrhea. Meanwhile, family history of dysmenorrhea (p=0.296), menstrual cycle interval, and caffeine intake were not significantly associated. This study concluded that a high prevalence of dysmenorrhea among female adolescent aged 15-17 years in Surakarta was detected, and factor associated with its severity were age of menarche, menstrual duration, pain onset, and pain duration. Abstract

This study aims to counseling and training Karimpu production, and to know the effects of Karimpu on total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and HDL plasma women with hypercholesterolemia. The trainees were 20 mothers from Ciberem village, Sumbang, Banyumas district. Karimpu drinks are composed of Chip Rimpang Cardamom and spices. As the subject of the intervention study were 30 women with hypercholesterolemia (cholesterol level > 200 mg / dl), obesity, age 45-65 years, living in Purwokerto area, willing to sign informed consent. Randomly subjects divided into 3 groups of 10 people each; I, given statin + Karimpu; II, statin + placebo; III, statin for 2 months. Blood samples were taken twice, 0 and 2 months after intervention, centrifuged, the plasma level was tested for total cholesterol, LDL, triglyceride, and HDL. People enthusiastically attended counseling and training showed test results increased 46.1%. The Karimpu product decreases cholesterol (P = 3,71E-07) and LDL (P = 0.0009), and otherwise increases HDL (P = 0.014), and retains triglyceride (P> 0.05) patients with hypercholesterolemia. Karimpu is able to inhibit the development of hypercholesterolemia towards heart disease by improving lipid profile. Keywords: Cardamom rhizome drink, lipid profile, training production. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan produksi Karimpu (minuman kaya antioksidan rimpang kapulaga) dan mengetahui efeknya terhadap kadar kolesterol total, trigliserida, LDL, dan HDL wanita penderita hiperkolesterolemia. Peserta pelatihan adalah 20 ibu-ibu dari desa Ciberem, Sumbang, Kabupaten Banyumas. Minuman Karimpu tersusun atas Chip Rimpang kapulaga dan rempah-rempah. Sebagai subjek untuk diintervensi adalah 30 wanita dengan hiperkolesterolemia, obesitas, usia 45-65 tahun, tinggal di daerah Purwokerto, dan bersedia untuk menandatangani informed consent. Subjek secara acak dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok, masing-masing 10 orang; I, diberi statin + Karimpu; II, statin + plasebo; dan III, statin, selama 2 bulan. Sampel darah diambil 2 kali, 0 dan 2 bulan setelah intervensi, lalu disentrifugasi. Bagian plasma ditentukan kadar kolesterol total, LDL, trigliserida, dan HDL. Hasilnya, peserta antusias mengikuti penyuluhan dan pelatihan produksi karimpu, ditunjukkan hasil tes meningkat 46,1%. Produk minuman menurunkan kadar total kolesterol (P = 3,71E-07) dan LDL (P = 0,0009), dan sebaliknya meningkatkan HDL (P = 0,014), dan mempertahankan trigliserida (P> 0,05). Dengan demikian, karimpu diyakini dapat menghambat perkembangan hiperkolesterolemia terhadap penyakit kardiovaskular dengan cara memperbaiki profil lipid. Abstract

This study aims to knowing the differences in body image, level of energy intake, and nutritional status in female students of accounting and nutrition science at Jenderal Soedirman University. This study uses a cross-sectional study conducted on 96 female students of accounting and nutrition science with purposive sampling technique. Body image is measured with a Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ-16B). The level of energy intake is obtained through a 24-hour non-consecutive recall. Nutritional status is measured using a body mass index (BMI). Most accounting students have a negative body image (52.1%), less energy intake (43.8%) and normal nutritional status (79.2%). Most of the nutrition students have a positive body image (56.2%), less energy intake level (45.8%), and normal nutritional status (70.8%). Based on the analysis using the Mann Whitney test, there was no difference in body image and level of energy intake between accounting and nutrition science students. There are differences in nutritional status between accounting and nutrition science students.

Abstract

Background: Stroke is a disease of the brain in form of nerve dysfunction locally or globally, appears in sudden, progressive, and fast. World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the stroke caused 5.7 million deaths in the world. Stroke can be caused by bleeding or clotting. The wide of diameter of the lesions in patients with hemorrhagic stroke increased 20% compared with the extent of the lesion in patients with ischemic stroke. Prevalence of malnutrition significantly more general in hemorrhagic stroke (62%) than ischemic stroke (25%). The impact of malnutrition in stroke patient can increase mortality after three months onset of stroke. Methods: The research conducted in Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo hospital, using a cross sectional study program and using purposive sampling technique. The total of sample used is 44 people, consisting of a group of non-hemorrhagic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. The analysis of data is using t independent bivariate test. Results: The group average intake levels of hemorrhagic stroke is lower than ischemic stroke. According to the anthropometry index MUAMC and BMI, the hemorrhagic stroke group average is lower than the ischemic stroke. Conclusion: According to the result of statistic analysis, the researcher did not find a significant difference on the intake of nutrient and nutritional status in hemorrhagic stroke and ischemic stroke patient.

Abstract

ABSTRACT To examine the association between the level of food quality satisfaction with energy and macronutrient intake in adolescents at Balai Perlindungan Sosial Anak (BPSAA) Pagaden Subang. This was a cross sectional study included 45 respondents selected by simple random sampling. Respondents fill the questionare of the level of food quality satisfaction and recall 24 hours. Bivariate analysis used Rank-Spearman test. Most of respondents were satisfied with food appeareance (95.2%), food flavor (95.7%) and a food variation (93.3%). The average intake of energy and macronutrients of respondents are lower than normal value (energy = 1207.15 kcal; Protein = 42.97 g; Fat = 56.4 g; KH = 131.90 g). The results of the bivariate analysis showed no relationship between the level of food quality satisfaction with energy and macronutrient intake (p> 0.05). There was no association between level of food appearance, food flavor and food variation with energy and macronutrient intake in adolescents at BPSAA Pagaden Subang. Remaja memerlukan energi dan zat gizi yang lebih banyak karena pada masa tersebut merupakan masa dimana percepatan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tubuh. Tingkat konsumsi energi dan zat gizi salah satunya ditentukan oleh kuantitas dan kualitas hidangan. Mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat kepuasan mutu hidangan sebagai salah satu output dari penyelenggaraan makanan dengan tingkat konsumsi energi dan makronutrien pada remaja di BPSAA Pagaden Subang. Desain penelitian cross sectional. Sampel sebanyak 45 remaja yang diambil secara random sampling mengisi kuesioner tingkat kepuasan mutu hidangan dan recall 24 jam. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Rank-Spearman. Hampir seluruh responden merasa puas dengan penampilan makanan (95,2%), cita rasa makanan (95,7%) dan variasi makanan (93,3%). Rata-rata asupan energi dan makronutrien responden tergolong kurang (energi = 1207,15 Kkal; Protein = 42,97 gr; Lemak = 56,4 gr; KH = 131,90 gr). Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan antara tingkat kepuasan mutu hidangan dengan tingkat konsumsi energi dan makronutrien (p > 0,05). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara tingkat kepuasan penampilan makanan, cita rasa makanan dan variasi makanan dengan tingkat konsumsi energi dan makronutrien pada remaja di BPSAA Pagaden Subang. Abstract

Calcium is one of important mineral for female student to obtain the peak bone mass.This study aims to find out how the amount and adequacy of calcium intake, and the contribution of dairy products to calcium intake among female student. This study used a cross-sectional study design. A total 58 third and fourth level nutrition student were selected randomly as samples.Calcium intake is obtained by using semiquantitative FFQ that has been validated. The results of the study showed an average calcium intake was 630±395 mg/day, with 417.8±367.7 mg coming from dairy products.There was 13% student who obtained Requirement Daily Allowance for calcium. Abstract

Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is the condition that disrupted the blood supply to the organ followed by the restoration of blood flow. IRI in the kidneys promotes the inflammatory cascade. Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) belongs to the most powerful pro-inflammatory cytokine that released in the early phase of IRI. Prevention of inflammation is one of the strategies for reducing kidney damage due to IRI. Celery (Apium graveolens L) is a natural resource that reported has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. This study aimed to investigate the effect of duration of the administration ethanol extract of celery on IL-1β level in the IRI rat model. Twenty-five rats male Sprague Dawley, 2-3 months old were divided into 5 groups: Sham operations (SO, n=5), Ischemia-reperfusion (IR, n=5), celery 1000 mg/ kg BW for 7 days before IR (IR7) (IR7, n=5), 14 days before IR (IR14, n=5), 28 days before IR (IR28, n=5). The IL-1β level was assessed using the ELISA. Data were analyzed using One-way ANOVA (p<0.05). The results showed that the mean of IL-1β levels in the IR7 group (5.99±4.28 ng/L) and R14 (4.68±2.64 ng/L) were lower than IR group (8.19±5.36 ng/L), while the R28 group (9.05 ± 4.38 ng/L) was higher than the IR group (8.19±5.36 ng/L). In conclusion, the administration of celery ethanol extract 1000 mg/ kg BW for 7 days and 14 days can prevent the increase of IL-1β level in the IRI rat model. Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) adalah suatu keadaan yang terjadi ketika suplai darah sebagian atau seluruh organ terganggu diikuti pemulihan aliran darah. IRI pada ginjal memicu terjadinya inflamasi. Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) termasuk sitokin pro-inflamasi paling kuat yang keluar selama fase awal IRI. Pencegahan terhadap inflamasi merupakan strategi untuk menurunkan kerusakan ginjal akibat IRI. Seledri merupakan salah satu bahan alam yang diketahui mempunyai efek antiiflamasi dan antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efek lama waktu pemberian ekstrak etanol seledri terhadap pencegahan peningkatan kadar IL-1β pada tikus model IRI. Sebanyak 25 ekor tikus jantan Sprague Dawley, 2-3 bulan, dikelompokkan menjadi 5, yaitu Sham Operation (SO, n=5), Ischemia-reperfusion (IR, n=5), seledri 1000 mg/kgBB selama 7 hari sebelum IR(IR7, n=5), 14 hari sebelum IR(IR14, n=5), dan 28 hari sebelum IR(IR28, n=5). Kadar IL-1β diukur menggunakan metode ELISA. Data dianalisis dengan One Way ANOVA (p<0,05). Rerata kadar IL-1β pada kelompok IR7 (5,99±4,28 ng/L) dan IR14 (4,68±2,64 ng/L) lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan kelompok IR (8,19±5,36 ng/L), sedangkan kelompok IR28 (9,05±4,38 ng/L) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok IR (8,19±5,36 ng/L). Pemberian ekstrak etanol seledri 1000 mg/kgBB selama 7 hari dan 14 hari dapat mencegah peningkatan kadar IL-1β pada tikus model IRI.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of germination on the nature of sensory and dissolved protein content of red bean sprouts milk. This non-factorial experimental study used a randomized block design. The factors studied were germination time: 0 hours, 8 hours, 16 hours, and 24 hours. Parameters tested were soluble protein content and sensory properties including color, flavor, taste, and viscosity. Sensory test using hedonic test and hedonic quality with 50 panelist. The results were analyzed using Friedman test followed by Multiple Comparison Test at 5% level, if there is significantly different. Effectiveness index were used to determine the best product. Data were analyzed using F test at 95% confidence level. If there is significantly different continue with DMRT at 5% level. The results was no effects of the length of time germination on soluble protein content, preferences on color, odor, and viscosity (p> 0.05). The germination period had an effect on hedonic quality in the color, flavor, taste, and thickness of product (p <0,05). The best sprout milk was for 16 hours. Thus, germination affect taste preferences, and hedonic quality in the color, flavor, taste, and viscosity of sukarah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat korelasi aktifitas fisik dan asupan air terhadap persen lemak tubuh remaja putri. Metode yang digunakan adalah cross-sectional yang dilakukan di tiga SMA/MA/SMK di wilayah perdesaan Kecamatan Kedungbanteng, Kabupaten Banyumas. Jumlah responden 69 remaja putri dipilih secara acak. Aktifitas fisik diukur dengan kuesioner IPAQ, dan asupan air menggunakan metode Food record sedangkan persen lemak tubuh menggunakan Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Persen lemak tubuh kategori kurang 42,0%, normal 39,1%, lebih 18,8%. Rata-rata aktifitas fisik 2592,38±2120,74 MET-menit/minggu dan asupan air 879,80±304,53 ml. Terdapat korelasi antara asupan air dengan persen lemak tubuh sedangkan aktifitas fisik tidak berkorelasi. Konsumsi air terbukti berkorelasi dengan persen lemak tubuh. Korelasi bersifat negatif sehingga setiap kenaikan konsumsi air dapat menurunkan persen lemak tubuh. Aktifitas fisik tidak berkorelasi dengan persen lemak tubuh. Abstract

Prestasi akademik merupakan ciri siswa yang berkualitas dalam sumber daya manusia (SDM). Nilai rata – rata kualitas SDM Indonesia berada dibawah negara ASEAN lainnya. Rendahnya kualitas SDM dapat merugikan bangsa, sehingga perlu dicegah sedini mungkin. Faktor yang mempengaruhi prestasi akademik adalah stunting dan asupan gizi. Asupan gizi yang tidak seimbang membuat anak sulit menerima informasi. Stunting dapat menurunkan perkembangan otak, sehingga prestasi akademiknya menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara asupan gizi (energi, karbohidrat, protein, dan lemak) dan stunting dengan prestasi akademik pada anak usia sekolah dasar di SDSN Jati Rahayu V Kota Bekasi. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan cross sectional. Variabel independen penelitian adalah asupan gizi dan stunting, variabel dependen adalah prestasi akademik. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 4 dan 5 SDSN Jati Rahayu V, Kota Bekasi dengan total sampel 122 siswa. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner Food Recall 2x24 jam, pengukuran antropometri, dan rapor. Dianalisa menggunakan uji Chi-Square dan Fisher’s Exact. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat hubungan antara asupan gizi dan stunting dengan prestasi akademik pada anak usia sekolah dasar di SDSN Jati Rahayu V Kota Bekasi.
