Based on a survey consisting of AMTB questionnaire, FLCAS questionnaire, and the result of English proficiency test, the findings revealed that there were a high level of motivation and moderately high level of anxiety in learning English among PKU trainees, as well as an intermediate level of English proficiency. Also, motivation was more significant than anxiety in influencing English proficiency, but both variables were found to have not a very strong relationship with it, which is only 0.291 to affect on English proficiency. Therefore, based on goodness of fit statistics, there should be variables other than motivation and anxiety to be put in the regression model. Finally, the study puts several suggestion and recommendations for teachers, training center, and future researchers in the area.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Edmodo media used to improve the ability of English language students especially grammar mastery. The method used in this study is the quasi experimental method with the population all of the first semester students of Basic English Structure in 2016/2017 Academic Year. The samples taken are of 2 classes (as experiment and control sample) from IC and IB class by using purposive sample technique. The total of them are 60 students.. The instruments used in this research are pre-test and posttest by following the test requirement analyses of the Chi Square normality test and homogeneity test. Then it was ssupported by the questionnaire given to the experimental class. From the normality test result for control class, both pre-test and post-test were obtained ???????? ???? = 2.89 ??????? 2 = 9.49, and ???????? ???? = 7.12 ??????? 2 = 9.49 then Ho was received and the sample of the population is normally distributed. In the pre-test of experiment class it was obtained ???????? ???? = 0.65 was smaller than ???????? 2 = 9.49, and ???????? ????= 0.71 was smaller than ???????? 2 = 9.49, so Ho was accepted and the sample of the population was also normally distribution. Based on the homogeneity test, the writer got variance of pre-test score between experiment class and control class that is Fobserved< Ftable, (1.00< 2.17), and the post test score between the experimental class and control class is Fobserved< Ftable, (1.22<2.17), hence, Ho was accepted and both data variances are homogeneous. From the calculation of independent t-test, tobserved > ttable (179 >1.67) it was found Ho was rejected and Hi hypothesis was accepted which meant that students’ mean value using Edmodo as media is higher compared with students using conventional method; without media, so it can be concluded Edmodo media can increase students’ grammar mastery in their learning.

With the development of teaching spoken English more oriented to fluency, obviously accuracy in spoken English is much neglected. Additionally, the changing language pedagogy into more integrated way results in how integrating linguistic components in the teaching spoken English becomes a challenging task for teachers. Optionally, integrating form and meaning-based activities into teaching spoken English is suggested to be able to raise EFL learners’ awareness to address not only language fluency but also accuracy. This study was aimed to find the effect of using guided speaking worksheets towards senior high school students’ accuracy in spoken English. Pre-test and post-test design was employed in this quasi-experimental research. With total random sampling technique, 22 senior high school students were taken as the research sample of whom 11 were randomly assigned into experimental group, while the other were randomly assigned into control group. Samples in experimental group were received self-made speaking worksheets with target vocabulary, expressions and grammar attached for students to practice spoken English. Oral test was the research instrument in which its validity and reliability were determined by its content validity and inte-rrater coefficients correlation. With nonparametric analysis by MannWhitney U formula to test hypothesis. It was found that U-observed (-15) was smaller than Utable (34). It means that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The conclusion is that there was significant effect of using self-made speaking worksheet towards the students’ accuracy in teaching spoken English. The research findings lead to a discussion of its recommendation to be used in teaching spoken English.

This qualitative study tries to conform the principle of goals, content, and sequencing in 2013 curriculum (K13) for grade X of VHS. K13 is expected to deal with the 21st century skills which do not only make the students excellent in cognitive domain but also affective and psychomotor domains. That is why K13 has four core competences (KI 1- KI 4) to cover those domains as one of its goals. Another goal is to implement and integrate the language system, macro-skills, and micro-skills. K13 also aims to create communicative and meaningful activities. The strengths in sequencing content in K13 are the way it constructs the content starts from the easy to the difficult materials and it models a spiral curriculum. Despite the goals and content in K13 bring more positive development rather its predecessor, it also has several issues dealing with this principle. They are divided into issues in sequencing goals and sequencing content. The issues are related because the development of content is derived from goals. Issues in goals are the concept of communicative and meaningful teaching learning and time allotment. While the issue discovered in sequencing content is authenticity. The researcher also gives suggestion dealing with the issues.
