Abstract

Based on a data, there are several elementary schools in Sukabumi which do not have a teacher with English background education, so that the graduate of elementary school teacher education or PGSD who is teaching English in the school. This research is conducted on PGSD students of University of Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI) to prepare themselves as teachers of English in the future, but it is found that students at PGSD UMMI have difficulties in following the lessons taught on campus. The objectives of this research are (1) to know the background of students’ English competency as need analysis process. (2) to make an appropriate materials that is given in ESP subjects. The researcher conducted this study with quantitative and RnD methods. The results of this study show that (1) more than 90% of students are not able to pronounce letters and to mention numbers, especially large numbers in English correctly; (2) the impact of the research is the change of syllabus where the materials taught to the students. From this research, it can be concluded that need analysis is something that must be done to improve the quality of English education in our environment.

Abstract

Education is a process of enculturation, serves bequeath the values and achievements of the past to the future generations. Values and achievement that is the pride of the nation and the people make it known to other nations. In addition to bequeath, education also has a function to develop the cultural values and achievements of the past into the nation's cultural values corresponding to the life of the present and future, as well as developing new achievements into new character of the nation. Therefore, education, culture and national character is at the core of an educational process. literacy skills expected to provide supplies for children in reading, writing, and appreciating and responding to all types of communication. Creating literat generation requires a long process and means conducive. It begins with small and family environment, and are supported or developed in school, social environment, and the work environment. Puppet Sukuraga laden with enlightenment, education, reflection, invite people really keep up with both his body as a God-given mandate in accordance with the nature of their respective functions.

Abstract

The importance of English has an impact on the needs of future generations to learn English from an early age especially in Early Childhood Education and vocabulary is an important component that can support the mastery of all four language skills. Facing the difficulty of learning vocabulary, a method that is appropriate for the age of child development is needed. One of methods that could be used is story telling. The research method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The sample in this study was six early childhood education teachers in Sukabumi. Data collecting techniques were presentations and questionnaires. The presentations were held twice, in front of peers of early childhood education teachers and in front of students of early childhood education. After presentation, the questionnaires were conducted related to the implementation of the story telling method to the teacher. Based on the data collected, Teaching English with  Story Telling Method give a good response with indicators shows that  the content of the story, the properties used, the variety of vocabulary taught, moral values based on the stories and the ability of delivering the English vocabulary were good and suitable with the age of early childhood education.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan respon siswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar dalam penerapan Aturan Kerja Kelompok dalam metode presentasi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian analisis deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 49 siswa dari Departemen Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar semester 2 Tahun Akademik 2018/2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari hingga Juni 2019 di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah kuesioner untuk respons siswa dalam menerapkan Aturan Kerja Kelompok tentang metode presentasi di Departemen Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar. Instrumen ini disusun berdasarkan indikator yang meliputi: 1) kemampuan untuk bekerja sama dalam suatu kelompok, 2) keaktifan, 3) kontribusi ide / pemikiran, 4) tanggapan terhadap teman-teman kelompok, dan 5) kemampuan untuk bertanya / menjawab. Hasil penelitian ini bahwa penerapan Aturan Kerja Kelompok pada metode presentasi di Departemen Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar memiliki dampak positif pada respon siswa. Berdasarkan penilaian dosen, rata-rata klasik diperoleh, yaitu kemampuan untuk mengekspos materi adalah 78,32; kemampuan mengajukan pertanyaan adalah 76,43; dan kemampuan untuk menjawab pertanyaan adalah 80,08. Sedangkan penilaian siswa memperoleh hasil yang baik pada kemampuan untuk bekerja sama, keaktifan, kontribusi ide / pemikiran, tanggapan terhadap teman kelompok, dan kemampuan untuk bertanya / menjawab.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan analisis pemahaman konsep matematika menggunakan media video pembelajaran matematika di kelas III C SDN Dewi Sartika CBM Kota Sukabumi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalahh wawancara dan dokumentasi. Peneliti bertindak sebagai instrumen pengumpul data. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis menurut Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari tahap reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data display), dan conclusion drawing/ verification. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas III C tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Jumlah siswa sebanyak 28 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas III C cukup tinggi yaitu pada indikator menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep dan indikator yang kurang dipahami oleh siswa yaitu indikator mengembangkan syarat perlu atau syarat cukup suatu konsep. Hambatan yang dihadapi oleh guru yaitu tidak dapat membimbing siswa secara maksimal, keterbatasan siswa dalam memiliki dan menggunakan handphone serta orang tua yang tidak dapat meluangkan waktu kerja. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the teacher and the obstacles faced when the teacher becomes a motivator for high-grade students social studies learning in online learning. This research was conducted at SDN Cipanengah CBM Sukabumi, which counted from May to July. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects used in this study were teacher of class 5.3 and students of class 5.3 at SDN Cipanengah CBM. Data collection techniques used in this study in the form of open questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The result of this study is the role played by the teacher during a motivator in high-grade students social studies learning, among other, to encourage students, giving praise, carrying out interesting learning, assigning tasks that are competent among students and there is good cooperation between students and teacher in creating learning active and conducive learning. There are obstacles when the teacher motivates online social studies learning from internal factors that originate from within students and external factors that come from outside themselves such as the family environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan dan peningkatan keterampilan menulis puisi melalui model Concept Sentence. Metode penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi terhadap tindakan serta refleksi tindakan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 4B SDN Cibeureum Hilir 5 Kota Sukabumi sebanyak 28 siswa, terdiri dari 11 siswa laki-laki dan 17 siswi perempuan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Oktober s/d 22 Oktober 2019. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pedoman wawancara, lembar observasi guru dan siswa, soal tes keterampilan menulis puisi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara teknik kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil observasi kinerja guru pada siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata 71 dan pada siklus II memperoleh nilai rata-rata 95 serta dari siklus I menuju siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 24 poin. Sedangkan hasil observasi aktivitas siswa pada siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata 72 dan pada siklus II memperoleh nilai rata-rata 86 serta dari siklus I menuju siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 14 poin. Hasil penelitian pra siklus menulis deskripsi memperoleh ketuntasan 22%. Kemudian meningkat pada siklus I mencapai ketuntasan 50%. Pada siklus II terus meningkat mencapai ketuntasan 86%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas 4B meningkat melalui penerapan model Concept Sentence

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and obtain information about the social studies learning process through WhatsApp media in grade 5 elementary schools. The research method uses descriptive qualitative because the aim is to analyze a problem that occurs. Qualitative research does not have the character of testing or rejecting a hypothesis, but tends to find new problems. In this study, it involved class 5 D homeroom teachers and 39 students of class 5 D at SDN Dewi Sartika CBM. The data collection technique uses primary data in the form of interviews and secondary data in the form of questionnaires and documentation in the form of photos and screenshot of social studies learning process carried out through WhatsApp media. The data analysis technique uses the stages of data reduction (data reduction), data presentation (data display) and drawing conclusions (conclusing drawing / verification). The result of this research is that learning conducted through WhatsApp is quite effective.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the indicators of tolerance character contained in the material for the fourth grade students of SD Tema The Beauty of Diversity in My Country. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The research method used was content analysis. The data taken in this study were the load of tolerance characters in the sentences contained in the student books on social studies material. The subject used in this research is the book of the fourth grade students of the 2013 curriculum at the theme The Beauty of Diversity in My Country. The data analysis technique is done by reducing data, presenting the data which is divided into two stages, namely data classification, data description and interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that all indicators of tolerance character contained in textbook learning materials, the distribution of tolerance character indicators in learning materials was evenly distributed, except for the anti-phobia sub-indicators contained in the aspect of peace (not included in theme 7), techniques for integrating tolerance character indicators with material learning is carried out through reading texts contained in student books.

Abstract

English is a universal language that needs to be mastered in order to be able to compete with the development of this world. Therefore, learning English needs to be given at elementary school age. In language learning the most basic thing is vocabulary. Mastery of vocabulary also determines one's language ability. However, in learning in elementary schools, media assistance is needed to help students understand the material. Technological developments are increasingly rapid, with that learning media that can be used are increasingly diverse, one of which is animated films. This study aims to determine the effect of animated film media on vocabulary mastery of fifth grade students in elementary school. From the results of data analysis, it was concluded that: 1) it was found that there was an effect on students' vocabulary from animated film media with a significant value of 0.00 < 0.05, those Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. 2) the average difference in student learning outcomes with a value of 42.18 in the control class and 45.18 in the experimental class. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the animated film media has a significant influence on the vocabulary mastery of elementary school students.
