Abstract

The rapid development of banking The phenomenon of doom spending has become a trending issue among Indonesian youth. This behavior contradicts Islamic economic principles, such as wasatiyyah (moderation) and qana’ah (contentment), and has negative implications for financial stability and social well-being. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to understand the behavior of doom spending and its implications for Islamic financial management. The findings reveal that doom spending increases the risk of debt, reduces the allocation of wealth for zakat and charity, and undermines the blessings (barakah) of wealth. Contributing factors include emotional pressure from stress or anxiety, the influence of consumerist culture, and the role of social media in promoting materialistic lifestyles. Proposed solutions include enhancing Islamic financial literacy, leveraging financial technology, and strengthening spiritual awareness. These findings underscore the importance of wise wealth management in accordance with Islamic principles to achieve financial balance and a blessed life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison between business screening and financial screening models used in global Islamic stock indices through the lens of maqashid shariah. The research employs an explanatory method based on literature review and expert interviews. The findings reveal that current screening models remain legal-formalistic and do not fully reflect the substantive values of maqashid shariah such as social justice, environmental protection, and business ethics. Therefore, a reformulation is needed to ensure the screening models fulfill not only legal compliance but also promote public benefit and prevent harm. This study recommends developing a maqashid-based screening framework that is more holistic and socially transformative.

Abstract

The development of contemporary business presents new challenges in managing and accounting for wealth, particularly within the context of Islamic economics. This study aims to explore the concept of wealth accountability in Islamic economic jurisprudence (fiqh) and its relevance to modern business practices. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and literature review method, the research analyzes both classical and contemporary sources in Islamic law and economics. The findings show that key Sharia principles such as trust, transparency, justice, and contractual clarity remain highly relevant in digital business, fintech services, and collective investments. With its normative flexibility, Islamic economic fiqh proves capable of adapting to today’s economic dynamics while upholding core Sharia values. The study underscores the need to revitalize fiqh principles in addressing digital economic growth and globalization. Thus, Islamic economic jurisprudence has strong potential to serve as both an ethical and practical foundation for fair, transparent, and sustainable business practices.

Abstract

Misuse of social funds often occurs in humanitarian organizations, including Aksi Cepat Tunjung (ACT), which is suspected of channeling social funds to the al-Qaeda terrorist network. This research aims to analyze transitivity patterns in dialogue between legal experts, international relations and PPATK representatives on the YouTube platform, especially in programs that discuss this case. Research data in the form of dialogue taken from the Medcom.id YouTube channel was analyzed qualitatively. The research results show the dominance of material processes that reflect real actions such as transactions and sending funds by ACT to organizations that are indicated as terrorists. Relational and mental processes reveal relationships between entities and understanding of the issue. Verbal, behavioral, and existential processes provide additional context, including community reactions, reporting, and the existence of conflict. The transitivity patterns found include Actor structure (ACT) + Material Process (carried out) + Goal (the organization) + Circumstance (how many times). In addition, the existential process is analyzed through the pattern of Existential Process (there is) + Goal (some transaction), as well as material processes in the structure of Actor (me) + Material Process (giving) + Goal (that information) + Circumstance (detail). These findings underscore the importance of transparency in the management of social funds and its impact on public trust and national security

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of organizational culture, motivation, and competence on employee performance and to examine its implications from the perspective of Islamic economics and business. Human resources represent a strategic factor in the development of financial institutions, including the banking sector, which in Islamic economic thought are viewed not merely as production inputs but as a trust (amanah) that must be managed professionally and in accordance with Islamic values. This research employs a quantitative associative approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 94 employees of PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Jakarta City Branch. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied as the data analysis technique. The results indicate that organizational culture and competence have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, while motivation has a positive but insignificant effect. Simultaneously, organizational culture, motivation, and competence significantly influence employee performance. These findings suggest that a strong organizational culture and high competence are consistent with the Islamic principles of amanah and itqan, which emphasize professionalism, responsibility, and excellence in work. Meanwhile, the insignificant effect of motivation implies that material-based motivation alone is insufficient to enhance optimal performance without the internalization of spiritual motivation, such as perceiving work as an act of worship and orienting efforts toward falah (holistic well-being). This study contributes conceptually to the development of human resource management within the framework of Islamic economics and business by highlighting the importance of organizational culture and employee competence as key drivers of sustainable performance in the banking sector.
