Abstract

The surface around Belawan is nearly below the water level. So that at high tide Belawan automatically inundated. This is a phenomenon that has become a tradition at high tide. Tidal flood is a flood whose water comes from sea water. This tidal flood is a flood caused by the tide of sea water, until the tidal water inundates the land. This tidal flood is also known as inundation flood. This tidal flood will often hit or often occur in areas whose surface is lower than sea level. Because it is caused by the overflow of sea water that reaches the mainland, the water that is inundated due to this tidal flood has a color that tends to be clearer than the water in the usual floods. Tidal flood itself has several special characteristics or special characteristics it has. Some of the characteristics or characteristics of tidal flooding, among others, occur when the sea water is high, the color of the water is not too cloudy, it does not only occur when the rainy season arrives, usually occurs in areas that have a lower plains area than the ocean area. Impacts that arise due to tidal flooding, therefore many or small tidal floods must have a negative impact on the people who experience it, causing material losses, damaging buildings, causing the environment to become dirty and muddy, spreading germs. The floating house is a solution in tackling flooding due to high tide. By using a layout pattern with architectural design principles by considering drainage, comfort, and a clean and well-organized environment.

Abstract

BBPLK (Great Center for the Development of Job Training) is one of the job training centers in the city of Medan which is also known as the Indonesian Vocational Work Training (PLKI) under the coordination of the regional office of Indonesian workers in the province of North Sumatra. BBPLK itself has a park that has the potential to be used as an attractive plan, namely the welcome area where the site location is not well organized. The problem in this planning is how to plan the welcome area of the BBPLK park based on education and training landscapes with the Thematic Architecture approach. The design concept used is the concept of a clean cut thematic garden which is neatly based, well organized, and has three area divisions, namely the thematic garden area, the special training center area for landscapes, and the nursery placement area in the training park.

Abstract

Tidal flooding in coastal areas is a problem that is currently very difficult to solve, especially in the Bagan Deli area of Belawan. Global warming is the main factor in melting the polar ice caps and causing sea levels to rise, when the tide rises to 2.7 meters above sea level, which temporarily stops the activities and economy of residents in the Bagan Deli Belawan area. This study aims to solve problems and obtain design solutions with the concept of floating tourism to prevent tidal water due to tidal flooding into residential areas. The research method uses the hull engineering design method (Hull) as a floating medium above which will be made into a tourist area and linked to an experimental electromechanical module (MOSE) to prevent tidal flood waters from entering residential areas, so that tourist areas are not washed away. The results of this study will be a recommend  for the concept of preventing tidal flooding in all residential areas in coastal areas.

Abstract

The condition of Taman Sri Deli currently functions as a public space where one of its functions is used as a culinary tourism spot. The problem that occurs is when the Ramadan Fair event is held and there are road closures that disrupt the activities of road users. Therefore, it is necessary to do a solution by referring to the design of the culinary tourism area allocated in Taman Sri Deli in order to maximize the design that can support the activities of existing events. The theme that will be applied in the design of Taman Sri Deli Culinary Tour is the Green Space theme.

Abstract

Ramps as part of the inclusion design have been implemented in various spaces and public service buildings in Jakarta. In addition to facilitating accessibility for persons with disabilities, ramps also play a role in building a sense of equality in the social aspects of society. However, even though ramps have been attempted to be present in most public service buildings, the quality and consistency of the application of laws and regulations and the perception of equality among users have never been studied further. This research will involve 17 Kelurahan offices in West Jakarta and will be measured by 10 design criteria from PERMEN no 30/PRT/M/2006 Technical Guidelines for Facilities and Accessibility in Buildings and the Environment. Research method applied in this study involved direct observation and empirical measurement and involved 5 people with disabilities to build a narrative perception of equality. This study aims to reveal the actual condition of the ramp in Kelurahan offices and the consistency of its application to SNI. In addition, this study also aims to explain the importance of involving communities with disabilities in the planning, monitoring and evaluation phases of ramps as a means of accessibility in public service buildings in the future.

Abstract

Steel column structures can be used for various types of buildings, various advantages can be obtained when using steel as a building material, but its use cannot be estimated. Each of these elements will bear forces such as moments, normal or latitude, although the percentages differ from one another. Structures that carry normal forces are generally found in columns, both compressive and tensile so that a normal stress occurs. At this time the framework for the column is conventional steel but at this time there are other alternative materials, namely frames made of mild steel. As we know so far that most of the use of mild steel for roof truss construction, technological advances in the field of steel materials, especially mild steel, have been able to produce high quality mild steel, namely with a minimum tensile strength of 550 MPa. (Zincalume). Based on the results of the analysis, there is a critical stress difference in two cross sections with the same size from different types of materials, namely mild steel and conventional steel.

Abstract

Ende City as the capital of Ende Regency which has the potential to become a center of economic growth, has transportation facilities and infrastructure that support one of which is adequate air routes. Haji Hasan Aroeboesman Airport connects Ende City with several cities in East Nusa Tenggara Province and other cities in Indonesia such as Denpasar, Makassar and Surabaya. Haji Hasan Aroeboesman Airport annually experiences an increase in the number of passengers. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency, the flow of passengers with total departures and arrivals in 2018 reached 213,590 passengers. The number of aircraft is 2451 aircraft, luggage is 857,741 kg, and goods are 98,208 kg. With this increase, this will have an impact on the capacity and facility needs in the airport terminal. Airports are also required to be able to accommodate changes in activities and developments that may occur in the future. This study aims to conduct studies related to theavailability of Haji Hasan Aroeboesman Airport services so that it can provide recommendations for efforts to improve the service capabilities of Haji Hasan Aroeboesman Airport.  The method used in this study uses a deductive method, where the data obtained are compared and then taken positive and useful things and consider the aspects of the shortcomings. The results of the study on the comfort and availability of departure room services at Haji Hasan Aroeboesman Airport in general are the need for a redesign to overcome various problems such as an increase in the number of passengers, aircraft and goods from year to year.  And specifically, various problems were found such as: the standard for space needs does not meet the LOS (Level of Service) standards set by IATA, does not have an area specifically for commercial areas and other supporting facilities, and the level of comfort felt by users (repondents) is only 26%.

Abstract

Percut Sei Tuan District is one of the sub-districts in Deli Serdang Regency. The position of this sub-district is between Medan City and Batang Kuis District to Kuala Namu Airport. In addition, this sub-district is also one of the centers for the Medindingro development project (Medan - Binjai - Deli Serdang - Karo) as stipulated in RI Presidential Regulation Number 62 of 2011 concerning Medindingro Vision 2027 and is included in the National Strategic Area (KSN).Social and economic problems will arise as the population increases, this requires the development of office facilities, education, health, housing and so on. The challenge is quite complex for the regional government concerned in an effort to build and improve the standard of living and welfare of its people. With the increasing number of activities and dense population, a city can no longer meet the needs of its citizens optimally, so it is necessary to have supporting cities that can accommodate activities that cannot be fulfilled in urban areas. [2] This is done to prevent the development and growth of cities naturally, in other words developing without programmed direction and planning. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out a Study on the Regional Arrangement of Percut Sei Tuan Subdistrict as a guideline for the direction of development for the future, and to avoid uncontrolled forms of development. Creating an integrated urban environment that can increase the efficiency of land use and the carrying capacity of land and can improve the physical quality and appearance of the city.The results of this study are expected to be able to provide directions for regional arrangement in terms of architecture, landscape, regional design in Percut Sei Tuan District, as a guideline for the development and arrangement of urban areas. As a guide for all development actors, both in the design process, space utilization, physical development and in controlling spatial use in Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Tengah Regency.

Abstract

Boarding houses or what are often known as boarding houses are buildings that are definitely frequent and often found around campuses, especially in urban areas. A boarding house is a residential or residential building that is intended to be able to accommodate individual residents who are able to accommodate many residents. This causes the boarding house to be one of the buildings that consumes a lot of energy, is prone to generate a lot of waste, and is one of the buildings that is prone to causing environmental problems or global warming. That is why it is important for a boarding house to apply the concept of sustainable design. One of the boarding houses in the city of Bandung is Home Sweet Home which is located around the Maranatha Christian University campus. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of sustainable development principles to Home Sweet Home boarding houses. It is also hoped that this paper can help readers understand how important it is to apply the concept of sustainable design to residential buildings, especially boarding houses. The method used to collect data in writing this article is a qualitative method using a case study theory approach. The result of data analysis from writing this article is that the Home Sweet Home boarding house is a residential building that has not yet implemented a sustainable design. This also shows that there are still many boarding houses or residential buildings in big cities in Indonesia that have not yet implemented the concept of sustainable design.

Abstract

Penitentiary is a place of rehabilitation for prisoners who have gone through the process of investigation, prosecution, examination of cases and court decisions. However, the condition that occurs in Indonesia is that the number of prisoners continues to increase and exceeds capacity so that there is a shortage of rehabilitation facilities and then the detention house is converted into a place of rehabilitation, so that it is not in accordance with the function of the building. Especially in Wajo district, there is the Sengkang Class IIB Detention Center which accommodates 335 Correctional Inmates (WBP) consisting of 262 inmates and 73 prisoners. So it is necessary to build a correctional facility in Wajo Regency. The design of this Correctional Institution uses the Behavioral Architecture theme. This behavioral architecture concept aims to present a prison that can accommodate and facilitate coaching programs so that the coaching function can be achieved through design by prioritizing aspects of privacy, circulation, personal space, territoriality, and security. Thus, it can support the success of the functi on of this design object to foster, educate and guide prisoners.
