Architecture is an art done by every individual to imagine themselves and the science in designing the building. In a broader sense, the architecture includes designing and building the entire built environment, ranging from the macro level of urban planning, urban design, landscape architecture, to the micro level of building design, furniture design and product design. Architecture also refers to the results of the design process.

Abstract

Digital technology continues to develop and is involved in all aspects of human life, including architecture). Initially, the transformation of digital architecture was limited to computerization to accelerate drawing, but it has now expanded to statistical computation such as data science and artificial intelligence, allowing technology to play a role in the conceptualization process .AI (Artificial Intelligence), as a product of data science, began to emerge in architecture through the trend of rendering and image generation using prompts. AI is claimed to assist architects, designers, and students in creating architectural works, in exploring designs more quickly, and in supporting brainstorming and the development of design styles. AI platforms, particularly text-to-image generative models, hold great potential in creative work. Generative design can produce various design alternatives automatically based on predetermined criteria, enabling architects to explore design visualizations more efficiently. However, AI is only optimal when there is alignment between input and output perceptions, namely between the planner’s ideas and the data contained within the AI system. This study focuses on comparing the alignment of perceptions between AI and future planners (architecture students) to examine the extent to which AI can realize design visualizations and meet user expectations.

Abstract

This study develops a floating culinary tourism area in Tonrangeng Riverside, Parepare, as an innovative solution to overcome mainland land limitations and maximize tourism potential. A descriptive analytical qualitative method was applied, with the collection of primary data (observation, interviews) and secondary data (literature studies, regulations). The results formulated an integrated zoning system (Culinary, Entertainment, Relaxation, Transportation) that is efficient and responsive to the natural characteristics. The architectural design adopts biomimicry principles of butterfly morphology using corrosion-resistant composite materials, creating an aesthetic and functional visual identity. Crucially, this research integrates a comprehensive disaster mitigation system comprising adaptive floating structures, flexible mooring systems, dedicated evacuation routes, and real-time monitoring, thus creating a safe, comfortable, and sustainable destination. This model complies with national regulatory standards and can serve as a prototype for similar development in other coastal areas of Indonesia.

Abstract

The Mojokerto Archaeological Museum, known as an architectural object that has a wealth of history and culture, especially from the heyday of the Majapahit Kingdom, is the right location for a case study. This study aims to explore how local architectural elements, such as traditional forms, materials, and spatial arrangements, can be combined with modern functional and aesthetic needs. The research method used is qualitative which aims to obtain information directly through field observations and analysis of related literature studies. Thus, the museum does not only function as a place to store artifacts, but also as a space that represents a dialogue between the past and the present that is integrated into traditional values and modern innovations through the application of local architectural elements. This study shows that the Neo-Vernacular architectural approach is able to create a balance between traditional values and modern design, producing optimal educational and recreational spaces, supporting social interaction, and providing a satisfying experience for visitors. This study is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of sustainable architecture that respects cultural heritage, while meeting the aesthetic and functional demands of contemporary society.

Abstract

This multifunctional coffee table is designed to optimize furniture functionality by utilizing teak wood offcuts from CV. ABC as the primary material. The product, measuring 1120 × 530 × 375 mm, is manufactured through stages of observation, design development, material sorting, component fabrication, assembly, adjustment, and finishing. The frame and apron structure are constructed using a brick-pattern lamination technique, bonded with PVAC adhesive and compressed with a hydraulic press. The tabletop is crafted with a blooming-flower pattern using a radial arm saw and PVAC adhesive. The finishing process applies a rustic old teak style with a water-based coating. The product features an additional sliding drawer integrated into the tabletop, aligning with modern furniture trends emphasizing space efficiency. Based on the bill of materials, the manufacturing process requires 0.1402 m³ of teak wood offcuts.

Abstract

Gorontalo is one of the areas with the largest population of Bugis people, starting from the habits and customs of the Bugis tribe that are inherent in Gorontalo, to being well received by the surrounding community, the diversity of the Bugis tribe in Gorontalo also has a positive impact on the people of Gorontalo. This is the main factor in designing the Bugis Cultural Center in Gorontalo. As time goes by, the development of contemporary society, culture begins to be forgotten, even the culture itself is not known in depth by people. Especially for teenagers who have forgotten their own culture. Therefore, the problems mentioned above can be resolved by providing a forum that introduces Bugis tribal culture in this modern era, with facilities that provide special arts areas, both educational and commercial, special museum areas for periodic art performances and performing arts, both music and dance. Perancangan Pusat Kebudayaan Bugis ini akan mengusung tema Analogi Simbolik, yang bangunannya akan menganalogikan simbol-simbol khusus dari adat suku Bugis. The design of the Bugis Cultural Center will carry the theme of Symbolic Analogy, where the building will analogize special symbols from the Bugis tribe's customs.

Abstract

Ports as a maritime transportation infrastructure have a very important and strategic role for industrial and trade growth and are a business segment that can contribute to the economy and national development because they are part of the chain of transportation and logistics systems in Kolaka Regency. However, the facilities and infrastructure at the Ferry Ferry Port in Kolaka Regency are still minimal and still have many shortcomings. This study aims to design the development of a ferry ferry port that is able to accommodate the needs of managers, a place for service activities, a place for ships to dock, anchor, embark and disembark passengers or load and unload goods equipped with shipping safety facilities and port supporting activities as well as a place for intra and intermodal transportation transfers, as well as designing the physical structure of the Ferry Ferry Port in Kolaka Regency.

Abstract

Regional connectivity is a fundamental aspect of spatial structure planning because it influences accessibility, spatial interaction among activity centers, and the efficiency of transportation systems. Subang Regency, one of the rapidly developing regions in West Java, has experienced significant economic growth and urban expansion, resulting in disparities in regional connectivity, increasing traffic volume, and suboptimal road network performance. This study aimed to evaluate the regional spatial structure of Subang Regency by integrating the Gravity Model and the Kansky Connectivity Index as a quantitative approach to identify the level of spatial interaction among activity centers and the quality of road network connectivity. A descriptive quantitative method was employed using secondary data, including population, inter-center distances, road network length, administrative area, and road network topology covering five Local Activity Centers (PKL) and twenty-four Area Service Centers (PPK). The analysis consisted of Gravity Model calculations to measure spatial interaction, road density analysis, and the Kansky Index (β) to assess road network connectivity. The integration of the Gravity Model and the Kansky Index provided a more comprehensive framework for evaluating regional spatial structure and could support infrastructure development priorities and sustainable regional planning in Subang Regency.
