Abstract

here was an urgent need to accelerate the project duration in project MYC WIL.I-2C, however, inconsistent policy towards the predefined specification was taken by using 10% Buton Natural Asphalt Rubber (BNA-R), whereas the specification should be 20% BNA-R. The objective of this research is to compare the strength performance between BNA-R 1 10% and BNA-R 1 20%, compared to BNA-R1 0% (pen.60/70). The lab analysis was done in Jalan Raya Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. The method that were used are Marshall method and durability at optimum asphalt content by using wet method. The results showed that stability value of BNA-R without substitutes was 1164 kg, BNA-R 10% was 1440 kg, and the highest was found in BNA-R 20% i.e. 1462 kg.  Durability value without substitutes was 105.17%, whereas, durability of BNA CR 1 10% was 101.14% and BNA CR 1 20% was 100.81%.  All Marshall parameters in BNA-R with and without substitutes, including stability, flow, MQ, density, VIM, VMA and VFA were still fulfill the specification set by the Directorate General of Highways (Bina Marga) rev 3 in  2014 and interim 3 rev 2 in 2015.

Abstract

Road damage that occurs in some road segments that cause huge losses, especially for road users. It is worth noting that there is no decrease in road quality due to road surface damage. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the rate of damage with the speed of travel. This research took place on Lueng Mane - Tadu Raya Road segment, Kuala Tadu Sub-District, Nagan Raya District over 2000 meters divided into 20 segments with a segment length  of 100 meters. Primary data were collected by actual field survey that is road geometric data, extensive damage to roads and travel speed. The results show that road damage is very influential to the speed of travel, as seen in segment 11 with the value of 18 very ugly road conditions with travel speed reached 28,324 km/h, while in segment 6 PCI value of 100 perfect road conditions (Excellent) travel speed reaches 59,90 km/h, so the equation Y = 0,3202x + 21,264. This shows that the higher the level of damage the lower the speed of travel, the lower the level of damage the higher the speed of travel.

Abstract

The Johan Pahlawan subdistrict is one of the subdistricts in West Aceh. This subdistrict is the center of all community activities compared to the sub-districts in West Aceh Regency. This is because there are many government offices, schools, and trade centers. So that community activities tend to move to this sub-district. The modeling of trip generation has been performed by individuals in one area that will be needed to know by studying a variety of relationships between the characters of movements and the environment of land use. This research aimed at achieving the modeling movements of generation based on activities in the housing of Caritas, Islamic Relief, and IOM  in the subdistrict of Johan Pahlawan in West Aceh Regency by identifying the factors which have influenced the occurrence of movements to the workplace by dwellers of housing. The data were collected by surveys, questionnaires. In this study, there are five types of activity, two as main activity and three as an additional activity. they are obtained is school activity (mandatory), work activity (mandatory), the shuttle of children activity (maintenance), shuttle household affairs activity (maintenance), and social activity (maintenance). Based on the results of running from several variables there are 5 variables that meet the criteria of the model, the variables are a number of family members (X1), family income (X2), age (X8), travel distance (X10) and gender (X11). The best models are: Work Activity (Y­­­­1) = 0.988 + 0.169 X1 + 0.582 X2, School Activity (Y2) = 1.684 + 0.865 X2 + 0.387 X8, Social Activity (Y3) = 0.885 + 0.564 X2 + 0.334 X10, Shuttle of Children Activity (Y4) = 1.028 + 0.902 X8 + 0.557 X11 and Shuttle Household Affairs Activity (Y5) = 2.367 + 0.931 X1 + 0.858 X2.

Abstract

The earthquake-resistant building is a concept in construction technology that is in line with technology evolution. The idea of this earthquake-resistant concept is to reduce the seismic force that might work to the building structure instead of strengthening the structure itself. The structural component for reducing the earthquake force is called as a base isolator or seismic isolation. During seismic loading, this component is expected to accept and minimize the earthquake forces at a certain level without any significant damage to structure. This research is conducted to evaluate the response of the structure with base isolator. Then, the influence of base isolator on building structure is justified. Two (2) different types of structures, fixed base and base- isolated structure with a variety of post-yield stiffness (K2), were developed. The used type of base isolator is Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB). The analysis is conducted in accordance with pushover analysis method using SAP2000 v.19 program. The result suggested that the building structure with base isolator extends the natural period of the structure up to 1,380 times. The interstory drift of the base-isolated structure is smaller than the fixed base structure. The use of base isolator reduces the top displacement to an average of 21.93% for x- and 18.506% for y-direction. The overall structure performance evaluation of fixed base and base-isolated structures is at Damage Control level.

Abstract

The construction of medium and infrastructure of transportation has to be followed by the population growth. The trend to divide a regency / city into new separate one was perceived from the theorem of public welfare. This perception generates a big problem throughout Indonesia. Central Bureau of Statistics (2015) stated that the most populous city after Banda Aceh and Lhokseumawe is Langsa. Population of the city increased after the expansion in Langsa in term of motor vehicle. The congestion emerges at the peak hours, between 7.30 to 8.30 AM, 12.30 to 1.30 PM and 3.30 to 4.30 PM IWST. To anticipate this problem, the government of Langsa city in 2015 constructed a new road in the northern area, when the eastern area is not as effective since the width of the road is varied and it needs substantial cost for the construction. On the other hand, the existing road (national road) aquire longer travel time to access the office, education and shopping centre. Therefore, author was interested to observe these 3 (three) road, which generate a result stating that the time required to travel in the existing road is 1.15 hours and 0.03 hours in the alternative road for each one-way travel. The aimof this research is to analyze the benefit for road users by applying consumer surplus method and the public perception in terms of economy based on the Vehicle Operating Cost (VOC), saving of travel time and economic feasibility study based on Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), Net Persen Value (NPV), Economy Internal Rate Return (EIRR) and sensitivity analysis.

Abstract

Asphalt and Aggregate is the main ingredient of the asphalt concrete layer which determines the quality of asphalt pavement. One of the main cause of the damage and decrease of asphalt pavement strength on the road is the low strength and durability of the asphalt mixture. . But in the other side the utilization of local materials is expected to be used maximally to improve efficiency in terms of financing, especially for island area such as Sabang city of Aceh Province. Importing material from Ace Besar district is need a big cost. In solving this problem therefore it is necessary to maximize the use of local material. this research is done for find out the effect of the use of fine aggregate on the characteristics of the coarse layer of asphalt concrete mixture characteristics (AC-WC)with the addition of Sabang fine aggregate starting from 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The initial step in this research is find the value of optimum asphalt content (KAO).The result of this research shows that the more composition of the Sabang fine aggregate then the decreasing the stability value. The highest stability value is on the asphalt concrete mixture without Sabang fine aggregate substitution with the asphalt content is 5,38% with the amount of 1.658,73 kg and the lowest stability value is on the asphalt concrete mixture with 100% of Sabang fine aggregate substitution with asphalt content is 6,35% in the amount of 979,35 kg. The maximum composition of sabang fine aggregate which pass the requirement specification of Asphalt concrete AC-WC volumetric characteristic is 50% on the level of 5,87% with the stability value is 1.225,81 kg.

Abstract

Implementation of projects with system design and build, faced with various risks. These risks include no supporting data such as geological maps, soil investigation data, basic design drawings, and environmental documents, and difficulties in measuring job performance. These risks, can affect the success of the project. The success of the project is marked by the budget conformity with the actual cost, the conformity of the time plan with the time of implementation, the quality in accordance with the specifications, and the satisfaction of the parties involved in the project. This study aims to analyze the relationship and influence between design and build risk factors on project success, as well as to identify the dominant factors in design and build risk that affect the success of the total educational building rehabilitation project in package 4 in DKI Jakarta Province. Package 4 includes 18 units of SDN buildings, and 2 units of SMP buildings. This study used qualitative methods quantized through questionnaires, where the respondents were directed to 30 Construction Management (MK), and 17 personnel owners with a total of 47 respondents. The design and build risk factors analyzed in this research are owner owner management factor, procurement process, planning ability, implementation capability, project manager capability, and project scope factor. Validity and reliability test results show all valid question items and reliable variables. The result of the research shows that the scope of the project has a very low relationship, ownership management ability factor, implementation ability and project manager capability have low relation, planning ability factor has enough relationship, and procurement process factor has high correlation to project success. The design and build risk factors all had a significant effect on the project's success of 69.8%. The dominant factor in design and build risk affecting project success is the procurement process factor. This indicates that if the procurement process factor can be handled by the owner and the auction committee, then the success of the project will increase.

Abstract

The earthquake on December 7, 2016 measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale (SR), which hit the districts of Pidie, Pidie Jaya and Bireuen, has caused fatalities, damage to infrastructure and public facilities. In an effort to accelerate post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction, based on INPRES No. 5 of 2017, Aceh Provincial Building and Environmental Management Work Unit of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, carried out the rebuilding of permanent schools using RISHA construction technology with a system of design and build contracts in Pidie Jaya District and Bireuen. This study aims to analyze the relationship and influence of design and build risk factors on the success of permanent school construction projects in Pidie Jaya and Bireuen Districts. This study uses qualitative and quantitative methods. Respondents were directed at 13 planning personnel, 25 implementing personnel, 21 construction management personnel and 13 owner staff. The independent variables in this study are the risk factors of design and build which consist of the owner management ability factor, procurement process, planning ability, implementation ability, project manager's ability, and project scope factors, while the dependent variable is the success of the project. The results of the study show that there is a low level of relationship between the factors of the project manager's ability, a sufficient level of relationships from the factors of implementation ability, procurement processes and project scope factors, a high level of relationship between planning ability factors and management owner's ability factors to project success. All design and build risk factors have a significant effect on project success, which is 68.8%. The dominant factor affecting project success is the project scope factor, with a regression coefficient of 0.162. In this case if the project scope factor is handled properly by all parties involved, then the success of the project will increase by 16.2%.

Abstract

A fare is a cost that should be paid by the user of the public transportation. The fare is set by the operator who provides the service of the transportation. The aim of this study is to determine the characteristics of the respondents, to analyze the fare based on Ability to Pay (ATP), and to investigate financial feasibility of the ATP fare of Trans Koetaradja bus. The study focuses on Corridor I of Keudah-Darussalam Trans Koetaradja route. Primary data was obtained using questionnaire survey with Stated Preference (SP) method. The sampling technique is Stratified Random Sampling. The target population is the resident of Kutaraja, Kuta Alam and Syiah Kuala districts. The respondents are divided into school students, university students and elderly/disabilities. The results of this study suggest that the ATP fare of Trans Koetaradja service is Rp. 3.200 (school students), Rp. 3.300 (university students), Rp. 3.500 (general public) and Rp. 3.400 (elderly/disability). The estimated gross income by the operator from this ATP fare is Rp. 1.074.590.000/year. The estimated VOC is Rp.13.544.838.955/bus/year. The calculation of investment feasibility of NPV with the rate of Rp. 317.330.243, BCR is around 1,029. Return capital of the ATP’s fare in the year 2016 - 2026 is the 10th year. Return of financial capital is low (around 15 years). The value of IRR is 16,30% which is more than level of interest of IRR greater than 14%. The result of financial feasibility ATP’s fare, WTP and fare of Transportation Department Aceh (Trans Koetaradja bus) is favorable and feasible.

Abstract

Darussalam Sub-district is one of the largest sub-districts consisting 29 villages in Aceh Besar Regency. This sub-district serves its function for settlements, offices, trading, and education. As there are many people reside in the area, the trip-generation and traffic rate to the activities centers also increase and it requires adequate road capacity. Therefore, a trip-generation model is to estimate the number of people who travel needed in Darussalam area. This study aims to define the trip-generation pattern from and to home based on the level of education and type of occupation concerning the mandatory activities. Moreover, it aims to determine the vehicles proportion used by the people in the mandatory activities. The sampling technique used in this research is proportionate stratified random sampling. The result of this study shows that factors that influencing trip-generation of people with the education level under High School at the mandatory time are actually the age. While for people with the education background above the high school level, their trip-generation depends on the family structure, the number of family members in the family working, the number of motorcycles in the family, and the number of the family owning the driving license. Moreover, the factors influencing the trip-generation of people who do not work for government at the mandatory activities are age, the number of family members who work, and the number of family members who are still students. At the other hand, the factors influencing the trip-generation of people who work for the government at their mandatory activities are the number of motorcycles in the family, the number of cars in the family, and the number of family members owning driver license. The dominant modes of transport used by the residents of Darussalam Sub-district at all education and working travels for mandatory activities are motorcycles which are 218 modes (72.6%) and cars which are 82 modes (217.33%).
