Abstract

The changing of land use within a watershed area causes erosion and sedimentation. Soil erosion within the watershed is controlled by the climate, nature of the soil, topography, vegetation and human activities. The loose soil materials in the runoff flow result in sedimentation from which the capacity of a built dam is reducing. The research area of this study is sub-watershed of Krueng Keureuto. This sub-watershed provides water as well as soil sedimentation to Keuruto Dam. This research aims to determine the rate of erosion and sedimentation within the sub-watershed of Krueng Keuruto in Aceh Utara District. Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) model and Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation (MUSLE) model integrated into GIS were used to get the picture of spatial erosion and sedimentation at the investigated site. This research estimated the rate of erosion at the sub-watershed of Krueng Keuruto as much as 1,127 ton/ha/year or 25.684,87 ton/year. The sedimentation shows continuously building up. Annual sedimentation yield (As) is approximately 2.868,94 ton/year.

Abstract

In the design of high and low-rise buildings, structural systems should consider the requirements of strength, stifness, and stability. The addition of bracing affects the stiffness of the structure of the building. In SNI 03-1729-2002 there is an Effective Length Method (ELM) method which only recommends first-order analysis with amplification factor. However, currently there is a new structural design regulation that is SNI 1729: 2015 which refers to the American Institute of Steel Contruction (AISC 2010) where the steel structure stability planning has taken into account the second-order effect directly. This study aims to compare the application of Direct Analysis Method (DAM) and Effective Length Method (ELM) on 2D simple structure, where the comparison of both methods is focused on stress ratio value, which aims to determine more effective and efficient method in designing of braced steel frame structure. The difference values of stress ratio obtained in this study varies from 0.1 to 8.9%, where the value of DAM stress ratio is smaller than ELM. Comparison between the two methods shows that DAM is a more effective method and results in higher profile capacity than ELM.

Abstract

Routine maintenance on the Blangkejeren - Laweaunan road is done by self-managed and continuously every year with road length 65 Km. The committing officer undertakes work with the subcontractor who is deemed capable of carrying out the work and provides wages to the foreman who is a resident. To avoid risks, the Committing Officer undertakes the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS). Therefore, this study aims to identify the level of OSH risk in routine road maintenance work, identify the level of compliance of subcontractors and workforce employees in OSH implementation on routine maintenance work, and identify the selection of service providers in each routine road maintenance work. The identification of OSH risk level is made based on the Minister of Public Works Regulation no. 05/PRT/M/2014 criteria, and data collected by interviewing the owner's personal. Identification of labor compliance rates of subcontractors and foremen is based on Construction and Building Guidelines No. 004/BM/2006, judged from the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The analysis method used in this study is descriptive analysis. The result from the analysis indicates that the level of OSH risk in routine national road maintenance work for the routine maintenance of pavement, routine road shoulder maintenance, and routine maintenance of road equipment has a low risk. Whereas in routine maintenance work of sewer, drainage, trenching and heap have a medium risk. Labor compliance from subcontractors has shown a higher percentage about 59% compared to 40% for labor compliance from the foreman. It means that most of the subcontracted workforce is compliant, and almost half the workforce of the foremen adheres to the use of PPE. The routine maintenance work of sewer, drainage, trenching and heap, the right service.

Abstract

Krueng Baro Irrigation Area is one of the irrigation areas which is focused on increasing food crop productivity in Pidie District. To support the existence of the irrigation, of course, it must be supported by a well-organized irrigation system, so an effective irrigation network management system is needed through the O and M program. O and M activities require a truly real value or cost figure which is the result of the search for irrigation networks known as the real operation and maintenance demand value. The physical condition of the Krueng Baro Irrigation Network if viewed from the results of the irrigation network inventory still has many obstacles that hamper the fulfillment of rice water needs, including physical damage to buildings and irrigation channels. The evaluation of irrigation network performance is the first step in the preparation of the real operation and maintenance demand value, the rate of performance of the Krueng Baro Irrigation Area network is 68.06% (BWSSI, 2017) which falls into the less category and needs attention. This study aims to identify Irrigation Network O and M activities and the real operation and maintenance demand value Krueng Baro irrigation. The research method is in the form of observations / field observations and documentation to obtain the existing conditions of irrigation networks which subsequently identify O and M plans and preparation of the real operation and maintenance demand value. After the preparation of the real operation and maintenance demand value was obtained the output of the value of the real cost requirement in carrying out routine operations was only 0.53% (IDR 529,180,000.00), Routine Maintenance 6.52% (IDR 6,510,464,300.00), while for Periodic Maintenance is very large, namely 92.95% (IDR. 92,764,196,192.00) compared to the overall total cost (IDR. 99,803,840,492.00). In order to achieve the full O and M Plan and the real operation and maintenance demand value Krueng Baro Irrigation Network due to the limited budgetary budget so is divided into a 5-year priority program plan reference to Minister of Public Works and Housing Regulation No. 12 / PRT / M / 2015 with the first year priority carried out on the main building which greatly influences performance and function of the irrigation system such as turnover of intake doors, olak ponds and upstream weir sediment excavation and some buildings and channels that have been destroyed and not functioning on the carrier channel.

Abstract

Ownership of motorcycles as an alternative mode of choice is an affordable and economical increase along with the convenience offered by many dealers. However, there is no precise model to describe Vehicle operational cost (BOK) information of motorcycles based on the use of fuel oil. The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of the speed of two-wheeled vehicles to the consumption of fuel oil based on the type of motorcycle (manual or automatic), determine the appropriate model and as reference data for transportation feasibility studies especially for motorcycle. The research conducted on the main road of Banda Aceh City with five different mean speed to reach 50 km distance. The result analysis is done by using SPSS program with linear or nonlinear regression. Model of the influence of the speed of two-wheeled vehicles to the consumption of fuel oil (BBM) based on the type of motorcycle for manual Y = 0,598 + 0,003X, for automatic that is Y = 0,427 + 0,099X-0,004X2 + 0,00003750X3. The result shows that the manual saw a tendency of linear increase for the use of fuel oil for each average speed. Motorcycle automatic is an upside trend that the greater the speed, the smaller the use of oil fuel volume, especially at the speed of 40 km/hour and 50 km/hour seen a significant decrease and increased at speeds above 50 km/hour. This study can be a recommendation to choose an efficient motor vehicle from BOK based on the use of fuel oil.

Abstract

The segmented road of Bireuen-Takengon has often damaged in apart of its pavement structure due to the area of flexible pavement structure taken place upon an expansive soil that leads to depreciation caused by the influence of changes in the water level. The aim of this research method was to analyze the characteristics of the base soil underlying the pavement and to analyze the flexible pavement structure in the widening of the road. The observed area was Sta.70+175 s/d Sta.74+925 which taken place in Bener Meriah regency, sub-district of Timang Gajah. The results of USCS clarification show that the road of basal soil is included in the MH and OH with a PI value of 25.42%, LL 64.25% with a potential level of development and activity belonging to the medium-high category and also having mineral types of Illite. From the analysis of KENPAVE software, the design of flexible pavement structures is based on data planning that has a maximum stress and deflection value, on the base soil, of 0.1814 kg/cm2 and 0.0585 cm respectively. Moreover, based on Job mix data the maximum value of stress and deflection is 0.2444 kg/cm2 and 0.0585 cm respectively in which both of two stress and deflections are within the allowable limit; which both of two stress and deflections are within the allowable limit; 7.8 kg/cm2 and 2.5 cm. The evaluation results of both data are feasible to be used as an improved design on the pavement as the pressure generated by the weight of the road pavement structure is 1.949 kg/cm2, while the swell pressure that occurs on subgrade is 1.805 kg/cm2. Hence, The flexible pavement structure on the road segment is still able to reduce the swell potential on expansive soil.

Abstract

Along with urbanism and rapid motorization in the Pidie district leads to increasing private-mode dependency. Increasing number of the vehicle used in urban road networks could affect the pedestrian crossing facilities, especially within the school zone. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the needs for pedestrian crossing facilities within school zone located at Prof. A. Majid Ibrahim Road in the Pidie District. The gap acceptance approach is used to evaluate accepted and rejected gaps. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the pedestrian crossing (Zebra Cross) regarding whether it is truly appropriate or not then evaluates using the statistical method of hypothesis testing. The analysis result reveals that the higher speed in the traffic, the greater gap required by crosser. The average speed for the traffic direction of Medan - Banda Aceh is about 47,13 km/h; pedestrians require the distribution of gap value of 85% or about 7 m crossing distance is necessary to available. At the location of the zebra cross 1, in the morning and noon observations show the average gap is about 7.71 and 9.18 seconds, respectively. Furthermore,  as for the location of the zebra cross 2, in the morning and noon observations show the average gap is about 8.69 and 10.20 seconds, respectively. Based on the gap distribution, it concluded that the zebra cross facility at Prof. A. Majid Ibrahim Road is still worth using. As for the effectiveness of zebra cross, based on 85% speed at a distance from 50 m and 30 m can be concluded that zebra cross at Prof. A. Majid Ibrahim Road is ineffective. The absence of a decreasing in vehicle speed as it passes through the zebra cross, the velocity of the vehicle at 50 m from the zebra cross ≥ 30 m from the zebra cross. The speed of the vehicle tends to be stable at the time of going through the zebra cross.
