Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the form of participation carried out by POKDARWIS and also the community in developing tourism and the economic impacts arising from tourism activities felt by local residents in the Sumberbulu tourist village, Mojogejang District, Karanganyar Regency. This study is classified into descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The sample of data sources or informants was determined by purposive sampling. The informants selected were the head of the management or head of POKDARWIS, homestay owners and residents of Sumberbulu village. Data collection techniques used observation and interviews. Observation was used by the author to obtain data on the level of community participation. Interviews were used by the author to determine the community empowerment strategy in the development of the Sumberbulu tourist village. This study uses the Participation theory by Aprelia Theresia (2014) which uses four indicators in its theory. The participation indicators used as guidelines in this study are participation in decision making, participation in activities, participation in monitoring and evaluation, participation in utilization of results. From the four indicators used it can be concluded that residents in the Sumberbulu tourist village are involved in various tourism activities starting from participation in decision making even though in its implementation the final decision is taken by POKDARWIS, in participation in community activities and POKDARWIS actively contribute to the management of facilities and implementation of tourism programs, participation in monitoring and evaluation in this participation the community is not included in the routine evaluation carried out by POKDARWIS, participation in utilization of results in this participation shows that the tourism village program has had a positive impact on the economy and social life of the community.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of persuasive communication carried out by PT marketers. Sequis Life SEV3N Solo City Branch in influencing customers' decisions to buy life insurance products. The focus of this research is to understand the persuasive communication used by marketers and its impact on the ongoing persuasion process. Persuasive communication is an effort made to influence other people in making decisions, in this case the decision to choose and buy insurance products. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and observation. The research results show that the marketing staff of PT. Sequis Life Sev3n Solo City Branch uses various persuasive communication techniques, such as using a personal approach, conveying clear and convincing information, and using appropriate communication to build closer relationships with customers. Apart from that, the confidence and trust factor built through effective communication is also an important element in increasing sales figures for insurance products. It is hoped that this research will provide insight into effective persuasive communication in the life insurance industry and become a reference for other insurance companies that want to improve performance.

Abstract

The youth posyandu program carried out by youth posyandu cadres (Teman Sehat) is one of the initiatives by the Wonogiri district government aimed at reducing the stunting rate in Wonogiri to zero stunting. This program targets the health of adolescents aged 10 to 18 years. The objective of the program is to explore the persuasive communication strategies employed by youth posyandu cadres (Teman Sehat) to raise awareness among adolescents about the dangers of stunting in Nambangan village. The youth posyandu cadres use persuasive communication to convey messages and encourage adolescents to follow their guidance. This study analyzes the communication process using McGuire's persuasive communication theory. Severin and James state that “information processing theory” is employed in this research, which utilizes a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The data in this study consists of primary data from interviews, observations, and documentation, as well as secondary data from relevant literature reviews. Informants in this research were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The research findings indicate that the persuasive communication strategies implemented by youth posyandu cadres can change the mindset and lifestyle of adolescents aged 10 to 18 years after participating in a series of youth posyandu activities. Adolescents become increasingly aware of the importance of stunting prevention for themselves. Abstract

Educated unemployment is a complex problem faced by many cities, including Surakarta. Ironically, most of the unemployed in Surakarta are those who have a fairly high level of education, namely high school and diploma or bachelor's level. One of the causes of the large number of educated unemployed is the mismatch between skills and labor market needs and individual factors themselves. This study aims to determine the role of the Manpower Office in efforts to reduce the problem of educated unemployment in the Surakarta City area.This study uses the theory according to Gede Diva (2019:15-18) that the role of local government as a Regulator, Facilitator and Catalyst. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection used is interviews, documentation, and observation. The analysis techniques used are data collection, data condensation, data presentation and drawing conclusions.The results of the study indicate that the Surakarta City Manpower Office has an important role in reducing educated unemployment through programs and activities, these programs include job training by organizing job training aimed at improving the skills and competencies of job seekers to match the needs of the labor market. Job fairs, namely by facilitating meetings between job seekers and companies through job fairs. The Manpower Office provides accurate and up-to-date job market information to educated job seekers. Cooperation with companies by establishing cooperation with companies to provide job opportunities for educated job seekers. Keywords: Department of Manpower, Role, Educated Unemployment

Abstract

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Surakarta City plays a strategic role in organizing the 2024 election, particularly in increasing the participation of young voters, who constitute the largest group of eligible voters compared to other demographic groups. In the 2019 election, the voter participation rate in Surakarta City was only 75%, lower than the national average of 80%. However, thanks to various efforts by the KPU, voter participation significantly increased to 87% in the 2024 election. This study aims to analyze the role of KPU Surakarta in increasing young voter participation using Biddle and Thomas’ role theory, which includes four key indicators: expectation, norms, performance, and evaluation. To raise awareness and engagement among young voters, KPU Surakarta implemented various strategies, such as social media outreach, political education programs for first-time voters, and collaboration with youth organizations. Social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, were utilized to disseminate election-related information in a more engaging and accessible manner for younger generations. Additionally, programs like “KPU Goes to Campus” and “KPU Goes to School” were conducted to provide a deeper understanding of the importance of voting rights and the role of young voters in democracy. KPU also collaborated with youth organizations, such as OSIS (Student Council) and Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM – Student Executive Board), to reach more young people in political education activities. The study findings indicate that a more innovative and technology-based approach has successfully increased young voter engagement. Although challenges remain, such as political apathy and low political literacy among young people, KPU’s strategies for increasing youth voter participation have proven effective. The 16% increase in voter participation from the 2019 to the 2024 electionreflects KPU’s success in attracting young voters through modern methods tailored to the characteristics of the current generation. Therefore, KPU must continue to develop more innovative strategies, simplify election information, and enhance youth involvement in the democratic process. Abstract

In order to organize quality public services based on innovative smartphones, the Population and Civil Registration Office of Wonogiri Regency made an innovation in the form of the Telunjuk Sakti application for applications for population administration document services. This study aims to describe the application of the Telunjuk Sakti application in population administration services at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Wonogiri Regency using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the acceptance of the Telunjuk Sakti application among managers and users has fulfilled two perceptions of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), namely perceived usefulness and perceived convenience. Based on the perception of usefulness, it makes work faster, improves performance and increases work productivity. While based on the perception of user convenience, it can bee seen that the Telunjuk Sakti application is easy for users to use, including easy to learn and become proficient, controllable, clear and understandable.

Abstract

The Community Based Water Supply and Sanitation Program (PAMSIMAS) plays an important role in improving access to clean water and sanitation in rural areas. Kamal Village, Bulu District, Sukoharjo Regency faces the problem of limited clean water due to unfavorable geographical conditions, especially during the dry season. The PAMSIMAS program comes as a solution with a community empowerment based approach. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe community empowerment in the PAMSIMAS program in Kamal Village. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014) model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Sutrisno's (2005:18) community empowerment theory was used to assess the success of the program based on five main indicators: bottom up planning, participation, sustainability, integration, and social and economic benefits. The results showed that community involvement was quite active in the planning and construction stages of the facilities, but declined in the maintenance stage. The main obstacles faced are limited funds and low community awareness in maintaining clean water infrastructure. Nevertheless, the PAMSIMAS program in Kamal Village has had a positive impact by increasing access to clean water and providing social and economic impacts for the community. Although there are still obstacles in implementation, the PAMSIMAS program in Kamal Village has demonstrated a fairly good management structure, positive community involvement in the early stages, and coordination between the community and stakeholders. Therefore, further efforts are needed to increase community awareness and participation in facility maintenance so that the program can run optimally and sustainably. Abstract

The Population and Civil Registration Office of Karanganyar Regency issued the “Kadang Cinta” program for IKD activation services. This study aims to describe and analyze the “Kadang Cinta” public service standards at the Karanganyar Regency Population and Civil Registration Office. This type of research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection and conclusions using interviews, observation and documentation. This study uses the six dimensions of Ridwan and Sudrajat's theory (2009) which consists of: (1) Service Procedures, (2) Completion Time, (3) Service Fees, (4) Service Products, (5) Facilities and Infrastructure, and (6) Officer Competence. Based on the research results, it is shown with the following results: (1) The dimension of service procedures is not in accordance with service standards as seen from the ownership of requirements, the community is confused and has not realized the existence of IKD, (2) The dimension of completion time is not in accordance with service standards as seen from the server connection constraints that hamper the service process. (3) The dimension of service costs is in accordance with service standards as seen from the suitability of the fees set and there is transparency of costs so that there is no extortion, (4) The dimension of service products is in accordance with service standards as seen from the service products produced in accordance with the legal basis, provisions and those published, (5) The dimension of facilities and infrastructure is in accordance with service standards in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the job seeker card application process at the Surakarta City Manpower Office. This study highlights how the Surakarta City Manpower Office has succeeded in meeting the needs of job seekers by providing maximum service in processing applications. Despite the constraints of the phone operator's ability, instability of demand, especially during peak times, the Surakarta City Manpower Office has maintained the completion of job seeker card applications on time, ensuring that job seekers receive their cards without delay. This study uses the theory of Effectiveness according to William N Dunn (2021) namely efficiency, adequacy, equity, responsiveness and accuracy. Then this study uses qualitative methods, including interviews with job seekers and staff, to collect information about the service delivery process. The results of the study indicate that the Surakarta City Manpower Office's commitment to efficiency and user-centered services has resulted in a positive experience for job seeker card applicants. Users reported receiving adequate direction and support during the job seeker card application process, which has fostered trust and engagement. Overall, this study shows that the Surakarta City Manpower Office in terms of service effectiveness is good and can meet the needs of the community. This study underlines the importance of effective public service delivery in improving the accessibility of employment resources for job seekers, contributing to the goals of economic growth and broader community welfare in Surakarta.

Abstract

This research analyzes the educational content of the Instagram account @cfds_ugm, managed by the Center for Digital Society (CfDS) at Gadjah Mada University, to understand its role in enhancing the digital literacy of its followers. The study was conducted due to the low level of digital literacy in Indonesia, while the use of social media platforms like Instagram is very high. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis method, data was collected through documentation of @cfds_ugm's content and analyzed based on Doug Belshaw's eight elements of digital literacy: cultural, cognitive, constructive, communicative, creative, critical, confident, and civic. The results show that @cfds_ugm's content successfully integrates all elements of digital literacy, not only providing technical information but also encouraging critical awareness, social responsibility, and active participation in the use of digital media. These findings indicate that educational content on social media can be an effective tool fooving digital literacy in society.
