Abstract

ABSTRACT Communication is one of the most basic human activities in everyday life, which allows people to build relationships with each other. Humans are social creatures who depend on each other for survival. For people with disabilities, such as the deaf and speech impaired, or for those without, communication is very important. In essence, communication is a necessity for every individual. However, those who have disabilities rely on senses that still function well, even though they experience difficulties in communicating. In this research, the focus is on discussing interpersonal communication between teachers and deaf and speech-impaired students in interactions at the Al Ishlah Jatisrono special school. Using a qualitative descriptive method approach. And data is collected through observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses an instructional concept based on teachers' communication patterns with students. The results of this research indicate that interpersonal communication is assessed based on the effectiveness of interpersonal communication that occurs between teachers and deaf and speech impaired students. Abstract

Automotive communities in Indonesia not only serve as a platform for sharing information about vehicles but also as a means of fostering solidarity among members. One of the most notable communities is the "Lowbudged Sukoharjo" car community, which stands out for its unique characteristic of accepting various types and brands of cars without distinguishing their quality or prestige. However, as the number of members grows and their backgrounds become more diverse, this community faces challenges in maintaining solidarity and effective communication. Differences in perspectives, members' busy schedules, and potential miscommunication pose obstacles that can reduce the cohesion within the community. Despite these challenges, the community remains committed to promoting a sense of family and passion for car modification, while actively participating in social activities in the Sukoharjo area. This study aims to analyze the communication patterns within the "Lowbudged Sukoharjo" car community in maintaining group solidarity. A qualitative approach was employed in this research using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Redding and Sanborn’s organizational communication theory serves as the theoretical foundation, emphasizing the importance of information dissemination and reception within an interdependent network of relationships. The findings reveal that the Lowbudged Sukoharjo community applies two main communication patterns to maintain its solidarity: the wheel pattern and the all-channel pattern. The wheel pattern is used in structured communication, where the community leader acts as the central hub of information and coordinates various community activities, such as event planning and decision-making. Meanwhile, the all-channel pattern is utilized in daily communication among members, mainly through WhatsApp groups and face-to-face meetings, allowing members to interact directly without intermediaries. The combination of these two patterns enables the community to maintain organizational order while fostering openness and closeness among members. Abstract

ABSTRACT The decline in the number of students at SMA Warga Surakarta is due to intense competition with other schools, especially state schools that offer free education. To overcome this challenge, the research aims to analyze the application of integrated marketing communications in increasing the number of new students at the school. The main theory used in this research is Effendi's marketing communications theory and Anang's integrated marketing communications concept, which emphasizes the use of various marketing elements such as advertising, sales promotions, public relations, direct marketing, interactive marketing, and personal selling. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis approach. Data was obtained through interviews with school officials, observations, and analysis of documents related to the marketing strategies implemented. The research results show that the integrated marketing communication strategy implemented at SMA Warga Surakart is quite effective in increasing the number of students and strengthening the school's image. The use of social media, incentive-based promotional programs, as well as public relations activities such as social service and publication of student achievements have succeeded in attracting the attention of prospective students and parents. However, there are still several obstacles such as limited marketing budgets and limited student admission quotas. Abstract

This research aims to examine the organizational communication patterns implementedat the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) of Surakarta City insupporting public service delivery. Effective organizational communication is essential inpublic service institutions to ensure that services are delivered responsively, accurately, andefficiently. This study employs a qualitative research method, with data collection techniquesincluding observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was tested usingtriangulation of methods and sources. The research findings indicate that DisdukcapilSurakarta applies a circular communication pattern to support public services. In this model,each team member is given an equal opportunity to express opinions and offer solutions toexisting problems, fostering a collaborative and participatory work environment. In addition,Disdukcapil employs other communication patterns, such as primary communication throughdirect interaction during internal meetings, secondary communication via social media andinformation systems, and linear communication through one-way dissemination ofinformation without feedback. However, the circular pattern is the most dominant, enablingtwo-way communication that involves feedback both among staff during coordination meetingsand between service officers and the public during consultations. This approach ensuresflexibility and responsiveness in problem-solving, improves internal collaboration, enhancesthe quality and effectiveness of public services, and ultimately increases public satisfaction withthe services provided by Disdukcapil Surakarta.

Abstract

Film is a new means used to disseminate entertainment that has become a long-standing habit, as well as presenting stories, events, music, drama, comedy and other technical presentations to the general public. The important things in a film are the images and sounds, the spoken words (plus other sounds that simultaneously accompany the images), and the film music. The film Sultan Agung Thrones, Struggle and Love, is a colossal drama made by director Hanung Bramantyo in 2018. Research on this film examines persuasive communication using Roland Barthes' semiotic lens in every scene in the film to find meaning and what persuasiveness is like. contained in every dialogue scene in this colossal drama. The research carried out to examine the film Sultan Agung was by using data documentation methods and direct film observations, using qualitative methods. The technique used in collecting data is using direct observation of films to obtain information and materials for the purposes of the research. The results of this research show that persuasive communication using Roland Barthes' semiotic lens in the Sultan Agung film scene contains persuasive dialogue and there are supporting signs in facial expressions and intonation that direct the persuasive communication carried out by Sultan Agung in this scene, which is successful in making the changes desired by the communicant himself. . In general, it was found that persuasive communication as a king was always followed by his subordinates, making this persuasive communication stronger and able to change the behavior of the people around him without exception. Based on strong theory and existing journals, we know more about the figure of a great leader who, when conducting dialogue, has enormous potential in changing the behavior of the people he is talking about

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the relationship between the impact of social media from the Ruangguru application and the learning motivation of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Tahunan. This study employs new media theory in examining the relationship between the impact of social media from the Ruangguru application and the learning motivation of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Tahunan. The type of research conducted is quantitative research, where data collection is carried out using questionnaires. The population and sample in this study consist of 30 sixth-grade students (respondents) from SD Negeri 2 Tahunan. The analysis technique used is Spearman's correlation. The results indicate that the variable of the impact of social media from the Ruangguru application has a significant simultaneous effect on the learning motivation of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Tahunan. The variable of the impact of social media from the Ruangguru application also has a significant partial effect on the learning motivation of sixth-grade students. The calculated t value is 4.310 with a p-value of 0.001<0.05, thus H1 is accepted. This indicates that there is a relationship provided by the Ruangguru Application (X) towards the dependent variable (Y) in sixth-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Tahunan. Abstract

This study examines the use of Instagram content as a promotional medium to build brand awwareness for the solo market fest event. In the digital era, social media has become a primary tool in marketing strategies, especially Instagram, which has a wide reach and interactive features. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through interviews with Solo Market Fest social media managers, visitors, and UMKM and thrifting tenants. The findings indicate that the promotional strategies implemented through engaging visual content, interactive features such as giveaways and polls, and the use of hashtags effectively enhance brand awareness. The application of the AISAS model (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, Share) in promotional strategies helps attract attention, increase audience interest, facilitate information searches, drive action, and expand promotional reach through content sharing. Thus, Instagram proves to be an effective platform for building brand awareness at the Solo Market Fest event. Additionally, this study finds that active user engagement in digital interactions on Instagram strengthens audience loyalty to the event. Instagram not only functions as a promotional medium but also as an effective communication tool for building a community and enhancing relationships between organizers, tenants, and visitors. Therefore, optimizing digital marketing strategies through Instagram can be a key factor in the success of similar events in the future.

Abstract

The digital era has brought significant changes to the media industry, particularly print media, which faces challenges in maintaining its existence. Solopos Media Group, as one of the local print media in Indonesia, has undergone a transformation toward digital media by leveraging various platforms, including Instagram. This study aims to describe the content management strategy of Instagram @koransolopos in maintaining its existence amidst the competitive media industry in the digital era. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using the 4C Theory approach by Chris Heuer. Data collection was conducted through interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The Solopos social media team focuses on creating content relevant to an audience aged 19-34 years using formats such as infographics, reels, and carousels, while utilizing analytical tools like Meta and A/B Testing strategies to evaluate content performance. Abstract

AbstractThe Next Generation Social Welfare Information System (SIKS-NG) program is an application used by the Sragen Regency Social Service in e-government-based poverty data collection. This application aims to simplify the poverty data collection process and produce data summaries, such as recapitulation, data improvement, and proposals for new data. However, in its implementation there are still obstacles, one of which is the lack of understanding of human resources regarding technology, thus hampering the optimization of the use of SIKS-NG. This study uses Budiani's theory (2007) which refers to four indicators, namely Target Accuracy, Program Socialization, Program Objectives, and Program Monitoring. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of the e-government-based SIKS-NG Program in the Sragen Regency Social Service. The method applied in this study is descriptive qualitative with a purposive sampling technique for selecting informants. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis refers to the theory of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014:14). The results of the study indicate that the effectiveness of the use of the SIKS-NG Program based on the four indicators varies. Target accuracy is considered less effective due to human error in implementation in the field. Program socialization is also still not optimal because several obstacles are still found. Meanwhile, the program objectives are considered to have run well, and program monitoring is considered effective. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the understanding of officers regarding the program mechanism and strengthen socialization so that the implementation of SIKS-NG can run more optimally and be categorized as a fully effective program.Keywords: SIKS-NG Application, Program Effectiveness, E-Government

Abstract

Elections are one of the main pillars of democracy that function as a means for the community to legitimately determine leaders and deputy leaders. The voting process in elections has a very crucial role in ensuring fairness, transparency, and legitimacy of election results. One of the latest innovations implemented by the KPU is the use of Sirekap, a digital platform that functions to digitize the vote recapitulation process from polling stations (TPS) in real-time. However, this innovation has several obstacles such as data security issues, accuracy and vote recapitulation, availability of technological infrastructure, and limited digital skills of election officers. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of the recapitulation information system (sirekap) in the 2024 presidential and vice presidential elections and legislative institutions at the KPU of Surakarta City. This study uses the theory of effectiveness according to James L. Gibson, namely productivity, quality, efficiency, flexibility, satisfaction. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The informant determination technique was purposive sampling. Based on the research conducted, the effectiveness of the use of recapitulation information (sirekap) is considered quite effective, although there are still several obstacles in its implementation. There are several improvements that have emerged in the implementation of this sirekap, such as internet networks, mobile devices, server power, and also in terms of human resource capacity. This is proven based on the results of interviews conducted according to research informants, namely the Head of Section and Head of Sub-Section of the Technical Division of the Surakarta City KPU, PPK Members, PPS Members, and KPPS.
