Abstract

Education is a process to fully develop individual potential, preparing skilled Human Resources who are able to compete globally. Education is the spearhead of civilization, as it is the key to solving every problem. The heart of education is the curriculum, which provides the framework for learning. It encompasses educational goals, content to be taught, as well as teaching methods and techniques. In Indonesia, these efforts are embodied in the Merdeka Curriculum. Implemented since 2021, the Merdeka Curriculum aims to create active and creative learning, and to give students the freedom to develop their potential according to their interests. One of its approaches is differentiated learning based on the Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students Project (P5), which tailors the learning system to the needs, interests, and abilities of students. This study analyzes the implementation of differentiated learning based on P5 in Islamic Religious Education subjects in elementary schools. The research employs a mixed methods approach with an embedded design. The results show that this method is effective in increasing learning motivation, understanding of the material, and engagement in learning across all student ability groups. Although there were no significant differences between high, medium, and low ability groups, the trend indicated that high-ability students were more motivated and better understood the material. The main challenges for teachers include the lack of time to prepare materials and the difficulty of managing classes with diverse levels of understanding. Teachers need to provide additional support and simpler instructions to low-ability students. Overall, differentiated learning based on P5 helps students become active, creative, and engaged in learning, while supporting the formation of Pancasila student profile values.

Abstract

This study focuses on the role of Majelis Taklim Al-Hidayah in Krajan Hamlet, Karanganyar Village, Bantaran District, Probolinggo Regency in shaping and strengthening social harmony within rural communities. The objective is to reveal how the religious and social activities of the Majelis contribute to building strong social bonds amidst the challenges of modernization, characterized by increasing individualism and declining quality of social interaction. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and literature review, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Majelis Taklim Al-Hidayah functions not only as a forum for religious learning but also as a space for strengthening social ties through Qur’anic recitation, social gatherings, and mau’izhah hasanah (religious advice). It serves as an intergenerational arena that enhances communication across age groups, social solidarity, and community participation. The active role of women as the main driving force reflects a social transformation rooted in religious values. Strategies such as rotational hosting, consensual decision-making, and collective fund management have proven effective in reinforcing social cohesion and fostering a harmonious collective culture. These findings affirm that Majelis Taklim Al-Hidayah plays a significant role as a socio-religious agent capable of preserving harmony and solidarity in rural communities while enriching the understanding of the socio-religious functions of local Islamic institutions amid the currents of modernization.

Abstract

In classical literature studies, when one spouse apostatizes, two types of rulings are made. The first ruling states that their marriage is immediately annulled, which is generally found in the books of the Hanafi and Maliki schools. The second ruling demands that the couple divorce, which is more commonly found in the books of the Shafi‘i and Hambali schools. Although these two opinions appear different, the general consensus in classical literature is that the marriage is considered dissolved (furqah). Modern legal texts tend to agree with the contents of these classical texts. In the Compilation of Islamic Law, there are two articles that regulate apostasy in the context of marriage, namely Article 75 and Article 116. Article 75 implicitly indicates that the act of apostasy results in the annulment of the marriage, but Article 70 does not mention apostasy as a reason for the annulment of marriage. Meanwhile, Article 116 does not list apostasy as a reason for divorce, except when there is discord within the household. This seems contradictory, considering the Explanation of the Compilation of Islamic Law mentions that the material on marriage law is sourced from 38 fiqh books, including 13 books from the Shafi‘i school. This research is a normative legal study with a conceptual approach. Based on the research conducted, the author concludes that Article 75, which implicitly states that apostasy causes the annulment of marriage, aligns with some classical and modern fiqh texts. However, Article 116, which regulates reasons for divorce, does not align with classical and modern fiqh texts, as in these books, apostasy as a reason for divorce does not require discord within the household.
