Abstract

Religion and science are forces capable of transforming human life. Both try to direct and provide welfare for mankind. With their advantages and limitations, these two subject figures are proven to have made a real contribution to improving the standard of human life. Mehdi Golshani is one of the philosopher who expressed his opinion on religion and science. The purpose of this study was to determine the concept of religious and scientific thought according to Mehdi Golshani. The research method used is literature / literacy. By examining the contents of the book, the substance of the discussion and the focus of the character's study and thoughts. The object is in the form of several research journal books which contain Mehdi Golshani's thoughts on religion and science. The results in the context of Mehdi Golshani's thought are used as a way to solve all natural phenomena, where the climax of all of them is to internalize self-awareness of the existence and power of God of the universe. The natural phenomenon that exists in human life is not just a coincidence, nor does it occur in the middle of nowhere. Keywords: Religion, Science, Mehdi Golshani. Agama dan sains adalah kekuatan yang mampu mentransformasi kehidupan manusia. Keduanya berusaha mengarahkan dan memberikan kesejahteraan bagi umat manusia. Dengan kelebihan dan keterbatasannya, kedua subjek ini terbukti memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam meningkatkan taraf hidup manusia. Mehdi Golshani adalah salah satu filsuf yang mengutarakan pendapatnya tentang agama dan sains. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsep pemikiran religius dan ilmiah menurut Mehdi Golshani. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka / literasi. Dengan menelaah isi buku, substansi pembahasan serta fokus kajian dan pemikiran tokoh. Objeknya berupa beberapa buku jurnal penelitian yang memuat pemikiran Mahdi Golshani tentang agama dan sains. Hasil pemikiran dalam konteks pemikiran Mehdi Golshani digunakan sebagai cara untuk menyelesaikan semua fenomena alam, dimana puncaknya semuanya adalah menginternalisasi kesadaran diri akan keberadaan dan kekuatan Tuhan semesta alam. Fenomena alam yang ada dalam kehidupan manusia bukan hanya kebetulan, juga tidak terjadi di antah berantah.

Abstract

This research aims to look at Wittgenstein's Picture Theory concept in his work Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus and to analyze the language of Imam al Syafi'i's advice to science students. This research is qualitative research with the type of library study. The data source in this research is taken from the book Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus as well as books and articles related to the advice of Imam al Syafi'i and Wittgenstein's thoughts. This research data was validated by adopting Miles and Hubermen's qualitative validation steps. The results of this research show that: 1) Wittgenstein's thinking in his book was the result of the development of his two mentors, namely Gottlob Frege and Bertrand Russell. Picture Theory emerged because of Wittgenstein's disagreement with the language of philosophers in explaining his concepts. 2) The results of the analysis of the language of Imam al-Syafi'i's scientific advice are that there are meaningful and meaningless propositions in the advice. This is based on the fact that picture theory only accepts propositions that can be explained in reality and does not pay attention to propositions that cannot be described empirically.

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the implications of postmodernism in contemporary society by analyzing the paradigm of thought of the figure Jean-François Lyotard. Lyotard is known as one of the leading thinkers in postmodern thought, and this research aims to understand how his idea of skepticism towards grand narratives influences and permeates the structures of power, knowledge, and language in the context of contemporary society. This study uses a qualitative approach with a focus on the analysis of key texts by Jean-François Lyotard, especially "The Postmodern Condition: A Report on Knowledge." Analysis is performed to identify key concepts such as grand narratives, language games, and changes in knowledge structure. In addition, literature studies on the application of these concepts in the context of contemporary society are also involved to support research findings. The research findings suggest that Lyotard's postmodern views have significant implications in contemporary society. Skepticism of grand narratives creates space for narrative plurality, uncertainty of knowledge, and diverse language games. These implications affect power structures by challenging central authority and paving the way for a diversity of values and views. In addition, Lyotard's concepts also had an impact on changes in the way society understood and conveyed knowledge.

Abstract

Paradigma sains seperti yang diartikulasikan oleh Ziauddin Sardar dan Archie J. Bahm, menekankan perlunya pendekatan yang lebih inklusif dan etis untuk penyelidikan ilmiah. Perspektif Sardar menganjurkan ilmu yang mencerminkan pandangan dunia yang beragam dan mempromosikan dialog antar budaya, terutama antara dunia Islam dan Barat. Kedua pemikir menyoroti perlunya mengintegrasikan pertimbangan etis ke dalam praktik ilmiah, dengan alasan bahwa pengetahuan harus melayani umat manusia dan berkontribusi pada masa depan yang berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan analisis komparatif terhadap pemikiran Sardar dan Bahm terkait paradigma sains alternatif yang mereka usulkan. Artikel ini juga membahas konsep “Ilmu Postnormal” yang diperkenalkan oleh Sardar, yang mengakui kompleksitas dan ketidakpastian isu-isu kontemporer, menyerukan pendekatan pluralistik yang mengakomodasi berbagai perspektif budaya dan etika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-interpretatif, Secara keseluruhan, pekerjaan ini menggaris bawahi kebutuhan mendesak untuk pergeseran paradigma dalam sains yang memprioritaskan inklusivitas, tanggung jawab, dan kesejahteraan semua makhluk hidup, bergerak melampaui kerangka tradisional yang sering mengabaikan implikasi sosial dari kemajuan ilmiah.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang ilmu sosial profetik sebagai solusi atas dehumanisasi pendidikan Indonesia saat ini dalam perspektif Kuntowijoyo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa itu ilmu sosial profetik menurut Kuntowijoyo dan bagaimana ilmu sosial profetik dapat menjadi solusi atas dehumanisasi tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa sumber-sumber tertulis meliputi buku-buku, artikel jurnal, dan tulisan-tulisan Kuntowijoyo yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ilmu sosial profetik berlandaskan pada ajaran profetik yang memiliki tiga nilai utama: humanisasi, liberasi, dan transendensi. Dalam konteks pendidikan, Ilmu Sosial Profetik yang dikemukakan Kuntowijoyo memberikan solusi untuk menangani permasalahan dehumanisasi yang marak terjadi di lingkungan sekolah dengan mengedepankan nilai-nilai humanisasi, liberasi, dan transendensi, yaitu: Merancang program (Prophetic Mentoring) di lembaga sekolah, Mengimplementasi (Prophetic Pedagogy) dengan simulasi virtual reality, dan Membuat sertifikasi (prophetic educator) bagi pendidik.

Abstract

Konsep keluarga dalam era modern mengalami tantangan besar akibat dinamika sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya yang terus berubah. Artikel ini membahas perbandingan pemikiran Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi dan Emile Durkheim mengenai keluarga. Al-Faruqi, seorang intelektual Muslim, melihat keluarga sebagai unit teologis yang berfungsi untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai tauhid, keimanan, dan moralitas dalam masyarakat Islam. Sebaliknya, Durkheim, sosiolog fungsionalis, menempatkan keluarga sebagai institusi sosial yang menjaga kohesi sosial dan mengatur perilaku individu melalui norma dan nilai kolektif. Studi ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan filosofis dan komparatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kedua tokoh memiliki pandangan yang berbeda terkait struktur keluarga, peran gender, dan fungsi utama keluarga, meskipun keduanya sepakat tentang pentingnya keluarga dalam membangun masyarakat yang harmonis. Artikel ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana agama dan sekularisme membentuk konsep keluarga, serta relevansinya di era globalisasi yang penuh tantangan. Dengan memahami kedua perspektif ini, diharapkan dapat diidentifikasi strategi untuk memperkuat institusi keluarga sebagai pilar utama kehidupan sosial.

Abstract

The development of the modern world with all its problems in a very complex geo-politico-economy such as the gap between modernity and religion, the distribution of wealth. Sayyed Hosein Nasr is a contemporary figure who solves this modernization problem with his ideas discussing solving geo-political problems with traditionalism, perennial philosophy and integration between science and religion. This study also incorporates the ideas of Sayyed Hosein Nasr in the development of productive zakat in Indonesia in order to solve the problem of equal distribution of wealth. Productive zakat is not new in Indonesia but has many problems that need to be resolved, therefore this study is expected to be the answer to all existing problems.

Abstract

This article discusses the thoughts of the figure Muhammad Naquib al Attas who discusses the concept of thought in Islamic education and is related to its relation to Islamic business ethics. Naquib al Attas's concept related to his thoughts on Islamic education are Islamic education whose terminology is taken from the Arabic words (al-Qur'an) and al-sunnah, for example there are words tarbiyah, ta'lim, and ta'dib and some are even called riyadlah. However, according to al Attas in his study of classical books it turns out that no one uses the term tarbiyah in the meaning of education. Likewise ta'lim which is interpreted by al-Attas as teaching. So, the word ta'lim is narrower than education. On this basis, the relationship between business ethics and Islamic education has a fairly close relationship because education determines what a person's personality is like both in terms of morals and ethics. The methodology used here uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, and is carried out by gathering supporting literature sources, both primary and secondary sources related to the discourse on the concept of Islamic education Naquib Al Attas and business ethics education.

Abstract

Humans were created with a perfect soul, mind and intellect. But he often forgets the purpose of his creation. As a mirror of the Divine, humans can achieve Divine self-awareness, as the Prophet Muhammad said, ‘Whoever knows himself will know his Lord.’ According to Ibn ‘Arabī, humans who know their God are called insān kāmil, and insān kāmil recognised by God is called insān rabbānī. This article examines the steps and ways towards insān rabbānī according to Ibn ‘Arabī, and analyses the symbols and their meanings based on Charles S. Pierce's semiotic theory. The analysis is descriptive-explanatory based on content analysis. Initially, semiotic was only used in the empirical realm. It becomes interesting when semiotics is applied to the metaphysical realm; an attempt to think logically, philosophically, reflectively, and contextually in looking at Sufism in Indonesia. This article shows that the steps and ways to reach insān rabbānī; such as taubah, murāqabah, and ikhlāṣ, to reach waḥdah al-wujūd and musyāhadah. The symbol of insān rabbānī is depicted through the concept of waḥdah al-wujūd in a triadic process; that humans are the manifestation of God, the form of insān rabbānī is manifested in Rasūl, Prophet, Walī, and Waraṡah al-Anbiyā’, who act as caliphs of Allāh. With God’s adab and authority, insān rabbānī guides humans towards Divine self-awareness.
