Abstract

The purpose of this development research is to describe the product development of mathematics teaching materials in the form of newspapers and to compare the learning motivation of students using newspaper-form teaching materials with students using Student Worksheets (LKS). The method used is the type of Research and Development (R & D) research with the ADDIE development model which stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evalution and at the field trial stage the researchers used a real experimental design in this design, there are two groups namely one group obtained experimental treatment. Both groups were given post-test but were not given pre-test. The data analysis technique used is the Independent T Test. Based on the results of the study, this teaching material product is feasible to be used as teaching material in the classroom as evidenced by the results of the validation of experts. In the material validation, the percentage of eligibility reached 90.5% and the percentage of eligibility for design expert validation reached 95.83% and the percentage of eligibility obtained from student responses reached 86.77%. The percentage of achievement of the three is in the proper classification for use in learning. For students' learning motivation the experimental class obtained an average of 124.68 while the learning motivation of control class students gained an average of 116.04. The t-test calculation results from the average learning motivation of the experimental and control classes, Sig. (2-tailed) produces a number of 0.001. The results of the Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05. This shows that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant difference between the experiment class motivation and control. Motivation of student learning by using teaching materials in the form of newspapers in learning is better than students' learning motivation using teaching materials student worksheets (LKS).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of mathematical reasoning in solving problems in cube and beam material in terms of independent and dependent field cognitive styles. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection method is carried out by the test and questionnaire method. The study was conducted by giving 2 written test items about solving cube and beam problems as well as a questionnaire of independent and field dependent cognitive style tests at the beginning and end of the study. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. The results of the study show: (1) the test results of students' mathematical reasoning questions with independent field cognitive style on cube and beam material are able to pass 4 indicators better than students with field dependent cognitive style; (2) the test results of students' mathematical reasoning questions with the field dependent cognitive style on the cube and beam material are only able to go through 2 lower indicators than students with independent field cognitive style.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes of student’s mathematical disposition in solving story sequence and sequence problem through the learning model LAPS Heuristic assisted by Whatsapp messenger. this type of research is an esperiment with a quantitative approach. Data collection method is done by the method of test and questionnaire. The study was conducted by giving 4 items of pretest and posttest regarding the settlement of row and series problems and a mathematical disposition questionnaire at the beginning and end of the study. The data analysis echnique used is the normaity test, the homogeneity test and the average difference test. Theresult of the study indicate: (1) there are differences in the achievement of learning outcomes and student’s mathematical disposition in solving story sequence questions and sequencesthrough learning LAPS Heuristic of Whatsapp assisted with conventional learning; (2) there is a difference in the improvement of learning outcomes and the mathematical disposition of students in solving story sequence questions and sequence through the learning model assisted by the whatsapp application.

Abstract

Ditinjau dari cara pemerolehan pengetahuan oleh siswa, ada dua arus besar dalam teori pembelajaran. Kedua kelompok tersebut adalah aliran behaviorisme dan aliran konstruktivisme. Aliran behaviorisme sering dipandang sebagai aliran yang sudah usang (out of date), Aliran konstruktivisme saat ini banyak dianut oleh para ahli maupun kalangan praktisi pendidikan. Pertentangan dua paham ini tidak seharusnya terjadi. Secara objektif seharusnya perlu dilihat kontribusi masing-masing aliran tersebut dalam membangun kompetensi siswa. Kedua paham ini dapat digunakan secara proporsional serta sesuai kebutuhan dan tujuan pendidikan yang telah ditetapkan dalam kurikulum yang berlaku. Model ARIFIN adalah sebuah model pembelajaran temuan penulis, dengan langkah-langkah: action, reflection, interaction, formalization, interconnection, dan narration, dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif sebagai konduktor dalam upaya membangun rekonsiliasi antara kedua aliran tersebut.

Abstract

This research aims to increase student activities and improve student achievement by using the method of application of graphic media chart pie. Data analysis techniques using kwantitative and qualitative discrete analysis techniques. This research process is conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) implementation, (4) observation and reflesi. The subjects of the study were students of grade VII B SMP Negeri 1 Sekaran Lamongan in the 2020/2021 school year numbering 25 students. The results of this study showed an increase in student activities in learning activities and also showed an increase in student achievement, thus the application of graphic media application method chart pie used in the learning of mathematics subjects operational subject fractional numbers.

Abstract

This study discusses students' understanding of the completion of HOTS based on the SOLO taxonomy. When understanding the concepts of students being analyzed namely (1) restate the concept, (2) classify objects based on certain traits, (3) use and utilize and choose certain procedures or operations, (4) 5) provide examples and not examples of an concept, (6) developing the necessary or sufficient requirements of a concept, (7) applying a concept or logarithm in problem solving. The subjects of this study were 15 students of MTs Model A'isyatul Wahidah class VIII which were divided into 3 levels: unistructural, multistructural and relational. The questions given consist of 2 essay questions (descriptions) that meet HOTS indicators and concept understanding. From this test can be seen indicators of understanding the concept. Each data obtained was analyzed in a descriptive form.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan dan mengetahui profil kemampuan penalaran induktif yang dapat diperoleh sesuai dengan kemampuan siswa. Kemampuan penalaran induktif siswa perlu dikembangkan untuk memberikan pengalaman dalam membuktikan suatu teorema yang sering ditemukan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas X MA Sunan Ampel Kebet Lamongan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah soal tes dan wawancara. Pengolahan data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk menjelaskan jawaban, siswa masih menggunakan argument mereka sendiri. Untuk generalisasi rumus, siswa dapat menemukan rumus umum dan belum mampu menemukan jawaban akhir. Siswa belum mampu menjelaskan kembali maksud dari masalah tersebut dengan lengkap, baik informasi yang diberikan dan yang ditanyakan pada soal. Tetapi, siswa mampu membandingkan kesesuaian informasi yang diperoleh dengan pengetahuan yang dimiliki sebelumnya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze book errors in the material of Linear Equations and provide alternative solutions. The results of this study can be used as consideration in improving the book. This type of research is descriptive analytical research that describes a problem and the results are analyzed to find conclusions. The results showed that there were still some errors in the Junior High School Mathematics book for Linear Equations. These errors are spelling and writing errors, computational errors, problem errors and conceptual errors. The error is then given an alternative solution for further book development.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe students’ statistical thinking process which is cognitive field independent (FI) styled in solving statistical problem. This is an explorative research with qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of this research were VI grade students of SDI Roushon Fikr. This research started from giving competence pre-test and Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT) to get two research subjects which were cognitive Field Independent (FI) styled. The data collection was carried out through combination of interview and written assignment analysis. The data analysis involved procedures of data reduction, presentation, conclusion and verification. The data was validated by time triangulation. The research result showed that, in general, FI subjects had fulfilled four indicators of statistical thinking, including describing data presentation, organizing and reducing data, presenting, analyzing and interpreting data. The weakness was unable to make complete conclusion from given data.

Abstract

This research aims to describes the critical thinking ability of students in solving HOTS problems with high, medium, and low mathematical logic intelligence. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were 6 students of VIII-A grade at SMP Negeri 1 Deket in the 2019/2020 academic year. The determination of the subject was based on the result of the mathematical logic intelligence test. The instrument that was given to the research subjects consisted of a description test consisting of 2 questions. The data used are test results and the results of interview interviews. Based on the analysis of the data that has been done, the results of this research indicate that: (1) the critical thinking ability of students in solving HOTS problem with high mathematical logic intelligence indicate that students can fulfill four indicators of critical thinking ability, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and included in TKBK 4 (very critical); (2) the critical thinking ability of students in solving HOTS problem with medium mathematical logic intelligence indicate that students can fulfill three indicators of critical thinking ability, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and included in TKBK 3 (critical); (3) the critical thinking ability of students in solving HOTS problem with low mathematical logic intelligence indicate that students can fulfill one indicator of critical thinking ability, namely interpretation and included in TKBK 1 (less critical).
