Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulty and the provision of appropriate scaffolding used by students in solving addition and subtraction problems with the Jarimatic method. As for the difficulties of students analyzed in the form of fact errors, operational errors, and principle errors as well as the form of scaffolding conducted, namely explaining, reviewing, and restructuring. The subjects in this study were 32 first grade students at SDN Sumurber. The instruments in the study were written tests and interviews. The results of this study are (1) errors of fact students still have difficulty in operating fingers, (2) errors of operation where there are still many students who still have difficulty in calculating addition and subtraction operations, (3) and principle errors occur in some more students likes to count with chimera and haste. Scafolding provided includes explaining, reviewing, and restructuring.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara phobia dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui model pembelajaran learning cycle pada materi trigonometri, serta besar korelasi phobia dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui model pembelajaran learning cycle pada kelas X sekolah menengah atas materi trigonometri. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X jurusan Perbankan. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini meliputi angket dan soal tes matematika. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistika deskriptif dan statistika inferensial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat hubungan antara phobia dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui model pembelajaran learning cycle pada materi trigonometri yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai sig 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05. (2) Besar korelasi phobia dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui model pembelajaran learning cycle pada materi trigonometri adalah 0,913 yang artinya hubungan phobia dan hasil belajar matematika siswa dalam kategori koefisien korelasi yang tinggi dan positif. Artinya semakin tinggi skor phobia, maka semakin tinggi skor hasil belajar matematika siswa. Hal ini dimungkinkan siswa semakin terpacu untuk belajar.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of communication interaction within group discussion based on gender in Mathematics’ study particularly straight-line equations. The research was carried out at 8th grade in SMP Negeri 1 Driyorejo The research involves two kind of subject namely the women's group and the men's group which each group consisted of three students and is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. There are three stages in collecting students’ data: interview before the class started, record each conversation during the group discussion, and interview after the learning process. In terms of validity of the research, those data are checked using time triangulation. The results show that women’s group are more active during discussion compare with man’s group. While all member in women’s group communicated actively in solving problem, some of men’s member contributed in solving problem in worksheet

Abstract

The existence of students' negative views on mathematics causes anxiety and procrastination. This study aims to determine the effect of mathematical anxiety and academic procrastination on mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Balikpapan. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with survey method. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Balikpapan, as many as 362 students and a total sample of 72 students. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. Instruments used in this study was questionnaires and test. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis with simultaneous test (F test) and partial test (t-test). The results obtained a significant value of 0,000 < 0,05, it could be concluded that there was a significant influence of mathematics anxiety and academic procrastination on mathematics learning outcomes of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Balikpapan. The results of the study showed that mathematics anxiety had a significant effect on mathematics learning outcomes with a significance value of 0,023 < 0,05. Then, academic procrastination has a significant effect on mathematics learning outcomes with a significance value of 0,012 < 0,05.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the written mathematics communication of students with low mathematical ability in solving HOTS problems based on gender. This research is a qualitative research because the main data about the accuracy, completeness, and fluency of written mathematics communication in the form of written words. The research subjects were 2 students with low mathematical ability in class XI MIPA MAN 1 Lamongan consisting of one male and female student. The results showed that there were slight differences in the written mathematics communication of male and female students in the fluency of the information conveyed.

Abstract

ABSTRAK The current learning system is still dominant with the term learning which is defined as activities such as sitting, listening, record and then go home to be memorized. To avoid and anticipate the saturation, it is necessary to form an important concept that must be implemented in the practice of learning. One of them is contextual teaching and learning. Soetomo (1993: 68) suggests that learning is a process of environmental management of a person who deliberately done so as to enable him to learn to perform or display certain behaviors as well. Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kecemasan matematika materi operasi hitung aljabar dan menemukan faktor-faktor penyebab kecemasan matematika materi operasi hitung aljabar. Dalam penelitian ini jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B SMPN 1 Nglegok yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan bahan referensi dan member check. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dalam penilitian ini menunjukan deskripsi tingkat kecemasan matematika yang terjadi pada siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Nglegok diantaranya 50% siswa terindikasi kecemasan matematika tingkat sedang, 35% siswa terindikasi kecemasan matematika materi operasi hitung aljabar masuk dalam kategori tingkat rendah., dan 15% siswa yang dinyatakan tidak memiliki permasalahan dengan matematika. Faktor-faktor penyebab kecemasan matematika diantaranya, kondisi situasi kelas yang kurang kondusif, lemahnya kemampuan guru dalam menyampaikan materi pelajaran yang sedang dipelajari, Persepsi buruk terhadap pelajaran matematika, Kurangnya Scaffolding yang diberikan oleh guru, Pengalaman kurang menyenangkan di masa lalu

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal persamaan linear dua variabel. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII SMPN 01 Bakung yang berjumlah 32orang terdiri dari 13 siswa laki-laki dan 19 siswa perempuan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan wawancara terhadap siswa dan guru mata pelajaran matematika. Hasil penelitian ini ditinjau dari perbedaan gender menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis pada kategori rendah lebih banyak laki-laki, dan kategori sedang siswa perempuan lebih banyak daripada siswa laki-laki. Sebaliknya tidak ada siswa laki-lakiyang memperoleh peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis pada kategori tinggi. Setelah dianalisis dari jawaban siswa, menunjukkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa perempuan lebih tinggi dibanding dengan siswa laki-laki.

Abstract

Activity of students while studying in the classroom, both liveliness notes, ask and answer, and also presented the results that have been obtained in working on the teacher as well as good communication skills math will affect the value or the mathematical achievement of every child. The reality in the classroom there are students who are still active under the standard category. While the mathematics communication seen from the test results to the problems given by the researchers. In this study the research method used is quantitative method by using regression and correlation. In this study, a random sampling technique (random) and sample as many as 19 students. Research results obtained show: (1) There is a significant influence on the activity of the student mathematics achievement. From the ANOVA summary table is seen that for a significance level of 5% or 0.05 obtained sig = 0.000 <0.05. Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 accepted, meaning that there is significant influence activity of students towards mathematics achievement. (2) There is a significant effect on the learning achievement of mathematics communication matematika.Dari ANOVA summary table is seen that for a significance level of 5% or 0, 05 obtained sig = 0.005 <0.05. Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 accepted, meaning a significant influence to the mathematical communication mathematics achievement. (3) There is a significant effect of active students and mathematical communication to mathematics achievement. From the summary table SUMMARY seen that for a significance level of 5% or 0.05 obtained sig = 0.000 <0.05. Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 accepted, meaning a significant influence on the activity of mathematical communication siswadan mathematics achievement. So we can conclude there are significant take active students and mathematics communication terhdap mathematics achievement. And advice from researchers for teachers is should provoke students to active learning time in class conducted, and also familiarize students to communicate mathematically up, especially in math. meaning that there is a significant effect on the activity of mathematical communication siswadan mathematics achievement. So we can conclude there are significant take active students and mathematics communication terhdap mathematics achievement. Abstract

Understanding mathematics in a large dictionary of Indonesian language mathematics is the science of numbers, the relationship between numbers and operational procedures used in solving number problems. Trigonometry is an important mathematical science in everyday life. Trigonometry applications in everyday life cover all fields such as economics, engineering, and more. With trigonometry we can measure the height of a tree at a certain distance without having to climb it. And also trigonometry is to know, understand the shape and formula of a triangle. A triangle consists of 3 sides, namely the front side, side side and the sloping side. One of the main objectives of trigonometric material is to find the value of the angle or length of the side of a triangle. Thus the trigometry application is very important to be studied in the world of education, but in reality students are still having difficulty working on the questions given. From the answers that have been done by students, researchers are inspired to examine using the application of discovery learning models with grebeg suro on student learning outcomes on trigonometry topics. So that students can better understand trigonometry applications that are useful for everyday life.
