Abstract

This research study in the form of literature and aims to look atcreative thinking skills of students through learning mathematical model of Missouri Mathematics Project(MMP). In studying mathematics, think are of central importance. athrequires that every student has the ability to understand the formula, calculate, analyze, categorize objects, making props, create mathematical models, and others. These activities not only require regular thinking activities (convergent), but it takes the ability to think high (divergent). In fact many schools with the ability to thinkis still fairly low. Creative thinking skills can be defined mathematically as theability to solve mathematical problems with more than ones ettlement and students thinks mooth, supple, elaborating, and have originality in the answer. Creative thinking can be beneficial to train mathematical divergent thinking skills in mathematics. There fore, it is necessary to realize the selection of appropriate learning models and effective. One of mathematical learning model that can be used to train and improve students' ability to think creatively is mathematical learning model Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP). Abstract

The research is an experiment conducted in SMA Negeri 8 Tangerang City, Banten, on the influence of learning and use of media interest in learning of mathematics learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of media use to learn and interest in learning mathematics learning outcomes. (Experiment In Student Class XI IPA SMAN 8 Tangerang City Year Lesson 2010/2011). The research method used is an experimental method using the technique "factor analysis" with "Two Way Anova", aided by SPSS version 15.0. The results of the analysis studies suggest that: 1) There is the media's influence on the learning outcomes of mathematics learning, 2) There is interest in studying the influence on the results of studying mathematics, and 3) There is no interaction between the learning outcomes of students with interest in learning mathematics students.

Abstract

Reliability coeficient is a number which refer to stability result of an instrument measurement. The higher coeficient of reliability, the hingher trusted result of the instrumen will be. The degree of confidence of an intsrument, is expressed by reliability coefisient. For multiple choice instrument, estimation of reliability mostly calculated by KR-20. KR 20 formula calculate estimation of reliability instrumen by using correct score method. This study aims to comphere estimation of reliability coefficient by using KR-20 formula and by considering guessing probability. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of strategies learning and motivation in learning of mathematics learning outcomes.. The research method used is an experimental method using the technique “factor analysis” with “Two Way Anova. The research is an experiment conducted in SMK BASKARA at class X with 40 students. The results of the analysis studies suggest that: 1) There is influence the learning strategies of mathematics learning outcomes, 2) There is influence motivation in learning of mathematics learning outcomes, 3) there is interaction between learning strategies and motivation in learning of mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the increase of science learning outcomes in grade VII students using the model of learning Think Pair and Share at SMPN 241 Jakarta. The research method used is the experimental method, by taking the number of samples each group of 30 students, taken by using simple random sampling technique. The instrument used is a test instrument in the form of multiple choice of 27 questions. Test data analysis requirements performed is the normality test (using the chi-square test) and homogeneity test (using the F-test). Based on the test results of normality experimental data obtained X²hit = 2,517; control class data obtained X²hit = 1,611; where X²hit <X²tab and the result is normally distributed. Homogeneity test obtained by value of both group equal to 1,103 with Fhit <Ftab, and result of data of both group is homogeneous. Based on the result of t-test calculation, the value of tcount 23,04 with dk58 (using linear interpolation) resulted in ttable 1,942. Thus, with thitung> ttabel result H1 accepted and H0 rejected. Thus, there is a significant improvement between the Think Pair and Share learning model of the learning outcome of the IPA.

Abstract

This study discusses the difference between thesis and dissertation according to various sources. Then how to determine a good title, especially for a thesis title. Furthermore, based on a sample of 1052 titles in a graduate program in Jakarta XYZ studied with methods of descriptive findings indicate that the initial tendency to use the word, then the dependent variable and the independent variables are in use. Besides, there is a tendency that is less varied methodologies, and new allegations of an error derived sequentially. There are still relatively thin presence of plagiarism that marked the memorable quote rewrite its source in the bibliography. However, they all meet the weight requirements assessed as scientific papers thesis. Based on the interim findings made several suggestions for improvement in order to improve the quality of the content of the research on the above thesis.

Abstract

The concept is one of the foundations of mathematics in the study of mathematics, if the concept is given to students not to good, then the result of learning and understanding of learners in the materials will be reduced. Mathematical concepts can be supplied with a variety of approaches so that learners are able to understand the material provided by the teacher, one of the mathematical learning approach is SLIM-n-BIL. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect and effectiveness of the approach using Slim-n-Bil to the understanding of the concept of junior high school math learners. This study used a quasi-experimental methods are implemented in SMP Mahardika with data retrieval through essay questions. Hypothesis testing is performed using the software SPSS 17.0 for windows at significance level of 0.05. This study resulted in two main conclusions, namely; First, there is the effect of the use of the SLIM approach-n-BIL to the understanding of mathematical concepts as tcount obtained for 0.895 less than the 2,000 ttable with Sig. 0.138> ? (0.05); second, SLIM approach-n-BIL effective in improving student understanding of mathematical concepts as values obtained effect size of 0.231.

Abstract

The aims of this research are intended to examine the effect of mathematics anxiety toward junior high school students’ mathematical understanding ability. The hypothesis of this research was mathematics anxiety had significant effect toward students’ mathematical understanding ability. The research utilized a survey method. The population in this research were students of grade eight from one junior high school in South Jakarta. As the concern, the sample comprised of 66 students who selected by purposive sampling technique. The instrument comprised Mathematics Anxiety Questionnaire. The items were grouped under four sub-headings of attitudinal, cognitive, somatic, and mathematical knowledge/understanding. Two forms of the questionnaire were designed. One sought information on anxiety when working on mathematics in a class consist of 12 items and the other on anxiety on completing a test on mathematics, consist of 16 items. The data analysis used simple linear regression analysis. The result showed that mathematics anxiety had significant effect toward students’ mathematical understanding ability. Keywords: mathematical understanding ability, anxiety, mathematics

Abstract

The purpose of this action to enhance the understanding of biology as a whole so as to improve the academic achievement that can be seen from the increase in value of test. Class actions performed included two cycles through the four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. Through class actions carried out the verdict that the use of a summary of essential materials in accordance SKL can enhance students' understanding of biological materials because it can ease the burden on students in the study of biology as a whole class of biological materials in X to the biological material in class XII. However, keep in mind in making these summaries are designed for a structured arrangement with images made so attractive, clear, and if necessary choose the images that often come out in the previous state exams.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir siswa dengan model Learning Cycle  dalam pembelajaran Fisika. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari sampai dengan Maret 2011 di SMAN 21 Jakarta. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-3 yang berjumlah 36 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research) dimana hasil analisis dari suatu pembelajaran direfleksikan pada pembelajaran berikutnya. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga siklus, yaitu siklus I, siklus II, dan siklus III, yang pada setiap siklusnya terdiri dari 4 sampai 6 pertemuan. Siklus pertama membahas suhu dan pemuaian, siklus kedua membahas Kalor dan perubahan wujud, dan siklus ketiga membahas perpindahan kalor. Aspek yang diukur pada penelitian ini adalah keterampilan berpikir siswa dengan indikator metakognitif, inferensi, dekontekstualisasi, dan kombinasi dan sintesis. Pada siklus I rata-rata pencapaian jumlah siswa yang melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran dengan baik sebesar 45,88%. Hasil rata-rata keterampilan berpikir siswa sebesar 57,9%. Pada siklus II hasil rata-rata pencapaian jumlah siswa yang melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan yaitu sebesar 67,18%, begitu pula dengan rata-rata keterampilan berpikir siswa sebesar 77,2%. Pada siklus III rata-rata siswa yang melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran dengan baik sebesar 88,86% dan hasil rata-rata keterampilan berpikir siswa mencapai 93,2%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model learning cycle dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir siswa dan aktivitas belajar siswa.
