Abstract

The study objective was to determine of the parents attention and interest in learning to learn mathematics achievement. The method used in this study is a survey method. Sample size of 100 students obtained by random from two schools. Data collection doing by direct observation, documents student achievement of each grade math teacher and school and questionnaire. Analysis of the data with descriptive statistical method, multiple correlation coefficient, determination coefficient and regression analysis. Results of the hypothesis tests, namely (1) there is no influence of the parents attention and interest in learning mathematics to the students learning achievement (2) the role of parental not significantly affects mathematics achievement (3) student interest significantly affect mathematics achievement. Keywords: Parents attention, interest in learning, mathematics achievement.

Abstract

Education is the most important thing for every country to moving forward. Great country will put education as its first priority, because with education, the poverty of the people in the nation will change become prosperity. However, in the progress, education in Indonesia has to face several problems in every phase. Those problems only can solve with participations from all that contributors in education system, such as parent, teachers, headmasters, societies, and also the student themselves. In input phase, parent have big contribute to introduce good values to their children. Parent have big responsible to educate their kids with leadership values, so that they have enough preparation to become a early birth leader when they get into formal institution, which is school. In process phase, the parent with headmaster and teachers, together reinforce the student to live commonly with good values of leadership through organization culture in the school. Finally, in output phase, the student have to face so many challenge in reality world. The student that already passed previous phase with good values will grow become a great leader for this country.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the content of elements of mathematics in the culture of Java society, especially Central Java. The research method used is explorative survey method with the qualitative approach. Data collection was done by triangulation ie interview, observation, and literature study. The conclusion obtained is that there are two elements of mathematics in the determination of good days of traditional ceremony “mantu” or wedding such as elements of fact mathematics and the element of time.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and test hypotheses about the influence of numerical intelligence and mathematical concepts to the criticism athematical thinking skills. The hypothesis of this study include: 1) There is a direct nfluence on the ability to think intelligence numerical mathematics criticism. 2) There is a direct effect of mastery of mathematical concepts to the criticism athematical thinking skills. 3) There is a direct effect of the numerical intelligence mastery of mathematics concepts. 4) There is no direct effect of intelligence numerical mathematical thinking skills through mastery of critical math concepts. The method used in this study is a survey method. Affordable population is students of class VII school year 2012/2013 Junior High School in Depok Cimanggis. Sample size of 91 students, with the sampling technique used is random sampling, taken 3 public schools. Research instruments used were shaped PG numerical aptitude tests as much as 25 questions, test mastery of math concepts PG shaped by 20 questions, and thinking skills of mathematics in the form of criticism essay 10 questions, which has tested its validity. Data analysis using path analysis. Retrieved hypothesis testing results the following conclusions. The first hypothesis testing results show that: 1) there is a direct influence on the ability to think intelligence numerical mathematics criticism.; 2) there is a direct effect of mastery of mathematical concepts to the criticism mathematical thinking skills.; 3) there is a direct influence of the numerical intelligence mastery of mathematics concepts.; 4) there is no indirect effect wit criticism numerical mathematical thinking skills through mastery of mathematical concepts. Keywords: Intelligence numerical, mathematical concepts, critical thinking math

Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the direct effect of the ability to critical thinking the learning achievement of natural science. Knowing the direct influence of the self concept-learners to learning achievement of Natural Sciences. Knowing directly influence the ability to critical thinking of the self concept-learners. Knowing the indirect effect of the ability to critical thinking of the learning achievement of Natural Sciences through the concept of self-learners. The method used is a survey. Samples were obtained through the Multi Stage Random totaling 88 students from junior high schools throughout the subdistrict Sukmajaya is to SMPN 3 Depok and SMPN 4 Depok. Data collection was conducted by administering questionnaires and by conducting tests of learning achievement. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient double, determination coefficient and regression analysis. The statistical test used was t-test and F-test. The experiment was conducted on 6th May 2013 to 7 May 2013. The results showed the effect of the ability to critical thinking and self-concept of students towards science learning outcomes in Junior High School eighth grade se-kecamatan Sukmajaya Depok, that is 1) The ability to critical thinking of the learning achievement of Natural Sciences are indirectly influence significant is tcount < ttable or 1,539 < 2,000, 2) The concept of self-learners to learning achievement are indirect effect is significant, is tcount < ttable or 1,414 < 2,000, 3 ) The ability to critical hinking of the concept of self-learners there is a significant direct effect is tcount > ttable or 2.522 > 2.000, 4) The ability to critical thinking of the learning achievement of Natural Sciences through self concept there is a significant indirect effect is tcount < ttable or 0.383 < 2.000. Keywords: thinking Criticism, Self Concept, Science Learning Achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the influences of parent’s guiding and students’ learning habit as the results of science study. This study used survey method with double regretion analysis. The total number of samples as many as 200 respondents from grade VII of SMPN at Cimanggis District Depok on academic year of 2010/2011. The data were analyzed wih descriptive statitistics, data analysis, and test hypotheses used with double regretion. With the hypothesis test, which gave the results: 1) parents guiding give positive effects and significance result to out put of learning science class. 2) learning habit gives positive effect and significance to out put of leaming science class. 3) Then using double regresion analysis, it was gotten conclusion that there are positive effect and significance from both of parents guiding and also students’ learning habit to result of learning from science class. Based on that, so much better of parents guiding and much better students’ learning habit that will be done both of them, so much better their result of science class.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil berpikir mahasiswa tipe guardian, artisan, rational, dan idealist dalam memecahkan masalah numerical analysis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika semester VII IKIP PGRI Madiun. Pemilihan subjek penelitian berdasarkan teknik pengambilan stratified sampling dan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa dengan tipe kepribadian Guardian, hanya melakukan proses asimilasi dalam memahami masalah dan membuat rencana penyelesaian dan dalam menyelesaikan masalah dan memeriksa kembali jawaban sudah melakukan proses asimilasi dan abstraksi. Mahasiswa dengan tipe kepribadian Artisan dan Rational dalam prosedur Polya sudah melakukan proses asimilasi dan abstraksi. Mahasiswa dengan tipe kepribadian Idealist juga melakukan proses asimilasi dan abstraksi, tetapi pada prosedur memeriksa kembali jawaban, hanya melakukan asimilasi saja. Key Words: Profil Berpikir, Numerical Analysis, dan Tipe Kepribadian

Abstract

Sample-size determination is often an important step in planning statistical study and item analysis and it is usually a difficult one. Among the important hurdles to surpassed, one must obtain an estimate of one or more error variances, and specify an effects size of importance. There is the temptation to take some shortcuts. This paper offers some suggestions for successful and meaningful sample-size determination. Also discussed is the possibility that sample-size may not be the main issue, that the real goal is to design a high-quality study. Finnaly, criticism is made of some ill-advised shortcuts relating to power and sample-size.

Abstract

Influence of media usage of projection to learning result of Math, knowing the influence of media usage of projection to student learning result of mathematics. Methods in this study with quasi-experimental methods. Samples were taken by simple random sampling from a population of 110 students by taking 60 respondents who were determined to be experimental class and control class. Data analysis using descriptive statistic method and test technique requirement of data analysis with normality test and homogeneity test. The result of the research shows that the experimental class that is using the projection media has good or higher learning result compared to control class that is using conventional media. So it can be said there is the influence of media usage of projection to result of learning mathematics in wake up flat side room.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning styles and attitudes of students in math on math learning outcomes. The method used is the method Expose Facto. The study sample drawn from a population with affordable proportional random technique, as many as 60 students. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire instrument to measure learning style variables and variable attitudes of students in math, and test instruments, to measure the outcomes of learning mathematics. The research design used in this study is a 3 x 2 factorial design with three variables consisting of two independent variables, namely cognitive learning styles and attitudes of students in math, as well as the dependent variable, which is the result of learning mathematics. From the data processing obtained the following results: (1) There are differences in mathematics learning outcomes of students who have a visual learning style, auditory and kinesthetic. It is in the show by the price of the F - count of 2,494 with a probability of 0.047 sig (sig < 0.05) at significance level ? = 5 %. (2) The results of the mathematical learning of students who have a positive attitude at a higher math than students who have a negative attitude on math. It is in the show by the price of the F - count of 3,124 with a probability of 0.018 sig (sig < 0.05) at significance level. (3) There is no interaction between the learning styles of students in math attitudes toward math learning outcomes. It is in the show by the price of the F - calculated interaction probability value was 1.621 while sig. for interaction (learning styles * attitude of students in math) of 0.140 (sig > 0.05).
