Abstract

This research aims to analyze writing skills learning using Riau culture-based modules in elementary schools. This research approach is descriptive qualitative. Data was obtained through observation, interviews and document analysis. The research results show that there are variations in the implementation of learning modules between schools, with some schools already using modules that integrate digital technology, while other schools still use conventional methods. Integrating local culture in learning to write has a positive impact on students' understanding of the richness of their own culture. However, the fact is that Riau culture has not been utilized optimally as a learning resource. This research suggests developing a more varied Riau Cultural Literacy E-Module so that it can be implemented better.

Abstract

Mathematics learning aims to train students to observe, think, and express the real world with mathematical vision. However, in the traditional static concept teaching mode, teachers tend to use the concept formation or expository method, so most students cannot understand abstract concepts in class but have to do exercises to consolidate their understanding of concepts, which does not meet the requirements of cultivating talents with core mathematical literacy. Literature research method: To understand the current research status of APOS theory on mathematics concept teaching at home and abroad, this study consulted relevant books, journals, papers, and network resources at home and abroad. This paper discusses it based on the history of mathematics and provides practical guidance for teachers on designing student-centered teaching activities based on APOS theory. Based on the teaching design under the APOS theory, problem-solving is used to gradually guide students to abstract mathematical concepts and learn to think about the real world with mathematical thinking. Teachers will also diagnose students' learning stages through problem-solving situations and constantly debug math classes suitable for students. In guiding students to think, explore and interact, teachers create cognitive conflicts many times, encourage students to question questions, and give full play to students' subjectivity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group investigation based on the Among system on natural resource materials to increase fourth grade students’ creativity. This study uses a quasi-experimental method. This experimental study used two sample groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The experimental class is a class that is given special treatment, namely the group investigation model based on the Among system, and the control class is given a conventional learning model. Student creativity is measured using a test and also observations during learning. The results showed that (1) the results of the pretest-posttest were normally distributed and homogeneous because the results of the normality and homogeneity test were > 0.05. (2) the results of hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test results obtained significance (2-tailed) is 0.040 and 0.041 where this value is < from 0.05 so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This shows that the application of the Among system-based group investigation model affects fourth grade students’ creativity

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of students' cultural awareness items. The method used in this study is quantitative. A total of 24 items were developed to measure cultural awareness, and the research subjects consisted of 23 students. Data analysis was carried out using the Rasch model. The results showed that of the 24 items developed, 20 items were declared feasible to use, with each person and item reliability showing relatively high values. However, some items still need to be improved to improve their ability to measure more diverse students' cultural awareness.

Abstract

Education is crucial for national development, positively impacting socio-cultural, political, economic, and human aspects of nation-building. This research explores strategies to enhance effective learning among children in nursery and primary schools within Ilorin South Local Government, Kwara State, Nigeria. The study employed a descriptive survey method, involving 100 respondents from 10 selected schools. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire, validated by experts with a reliability index of 0.72. The findings revealed that effective teaching methods included the play way method, educative rhymes, teacher demonstrations, and storytelling, while music was less effective. Major obstacles identified were the high cost of modern equipment, inadequate teacher training, young age of pupils, inadequate school facilities, lack of experience in handling children, poor teacher remuneration, and lack of interest from teachers. However, the lack of in-service teacher training was not a significant obstacle. It is recommended that schools be equipped with adequate facilities and employ qualified teachers. Additionally, diverse teaching methods should be used to effectively enhance learning in nursery and primary schools. Involving parents in contributing resources to school care centers is also suggested to support the development of these educational institutions.

Abstract

The research aims to describe parents' aspirations of distance learning for children during the pandemic. Aspiration shows an individual's hope to achieve something expected. Aspirations can include theoretical differences between idealistic and realistic levels of aspiration. The aspirations are parents' hopes regarding appropriate learning for their children. These aspirations include learning methods, processes, and behavior in children. The informants are parents of elementary or middle school students who learn through distance learning with consideration that students at the level still need more parental support. The research uses descriptive content analysis methods using information from parents about school learning during the pandemic in online news media between March and November 2020. The search yielded 38 relevant online news articles. Findings include parents hoping that their children will learn face-to-face at school because online learning is considered less effective. Three types of aspirations were obtained: considering distance learning less effective because schools are not ready to carry out online learning, also considering less effective because parents are unable to accompany them and accept distance learning by accompanying children to learn Working status seems less influential because some parents encourage face-to-face meetings and some want to accompany their children to study. This shows that distance learning requires the role of schools and parents to be beneficial for children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of differentiated learning management at SMP Negeri 42 Pekanbaru in the context of the Kurikulum Merdeka. This curriculum was launched to address the "learning loss" due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to catch up with Indonesia's educational lag at the international level. Differentiated learning is a strategy that adjusts the learning process to the individual needs of students, taking into account their interests, readiness, and learning profiles. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach, involving observations and in-depth interviews with teachers at SMP Negeri 42 Pekanbaru. The results show that most teachers still experience difficulties in implementing differentiated learning according to the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Education. The main obstacles include a lack of understanding of the principles of differentiated learning and limited resources. However, some teachers have successfully adapted this method and reported an increase in student learning motivation. The study concludes that further support from the government and ongoing training is needed to optimize the implementation of differentiated learning in schools. The implications of this study are expected to provide insights for the development of more effective educational policies about learning differentiation in the future.

Abstract

Madrasah in Indonesia faces opportunities and challenges in keeping up with current developments to achieve quality education. The independent learning curriculum is the latest development in education in Indonesia. This curriculum carries the concept of flexibility, giving teachers freedom in choosing learning methods and materials. This research analyzes problems in applying the independent learning curriculum to Islamic education in Madrasah. This research method uses literature or library research with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection techniques involve information sources from various relevant literature and documents. This research shows that the independent learning curriculum can provide students with a deep and comprehensive learning experience if implemented comprehensively in Madrasah. However, several problems arise when implementing the curriculum. Issues such as the readiness of teachers and staff, the quality and consistency of Islamic education, and adequate resources are the main problems among the many problems in implementing the independent curriculum for Islamic madrasah education. In overcoming this problem, there is a need for additional training for teachers and staff, the development of curriculum consistency guidelines, and an emphasis on the continuation of quality Islamic education.
