Abstract

This research utilized a descriptive method which was conducted in one class, namely the experimental class. The instrument used to collect data was multiple choice questions. The hypotheses were examined by the "t" test. The results of statistical calculations revealed that Group Investigation learning model significantly influenced the studets’ learning outcomes on the material of “Lingkungan Sahabat Kita” sub-theme of environmental changes at grade VSD Negeri 101859 Rambai the academic year 2019/2020. This was supported by the average score in posttest which was in the excellent category. Based on the research results, Group Investigation type cooperative learning model gave a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes with tcount > ttable (9.385 > 1.6838) at the significant level α = 0.05. Thus, Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. After that, the result of t-test data analysis found that tcount > ttable (1.449> 1.683851) at a significant level of 5%. It can be concluded that hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Thus, this learning model was feasible to be implemented in the learning process, especially in influencing better learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the condition that only few activities could be done during this online and long distance learning. As a result, many teachers were unable to make ICT-based learning media, especially power points. It was possible to conduct the training for making power point offline and online. For this reason, in-house training was believed to be helpful for teachers to improve their skills in making power points. This research was a classroom action research conducted at SDN 021 Pendekar Bahan from August to September 2020. The instruments were observation and interview sheets. The results of the study showed that the teachers’ skills in making power points increased. The data showed that the average score in cycle I was 60.85, and it increased to 75.42 in cycle II with good criteria. Based on the research results, it could be concluded that in-house training improved the teachers’ skills in making power point learning media.

Abstract

This study utilized a survey method with a quantitative descriptive approach. This study aimed to determine the parents’ involvement in early childhood learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. Early childhood needs assistance during the learning process from home; therefore, the role of parents is very crucial since it gives a long-term impact on children's development. Changes in the atmosphere and climate of learning activities from the classroom to the home centainly bring new challenges. Respondents in this research were 102 parents with 4-6 years old-children in Pekanbaru. The samples were selected by using random sampling technique. The data analysis was presented in table. Overall, the results of the study on parents’ involvement which consisted of three indicators (parents' motivation, parents' perceptions of other people's invitations to be involved in children's education, and parents’ feeling) was generally high. This indicated that parents possessed good motivation to assist children in learning by understanding their important role and having confidence in accompanying childrens’ learning activities.

Abstract

The era of globalization of radicalism develops rapidly, especially through the social networks accessed by high school students and university students. Thus, it is necessary to measure students' radicalism attitudes to know the description of students’ characters so that the institution can take prevention or coaching actions. This study aimed to develop a college entrance test instrument, especially the entrance test at IBM ASMI. The developed instrument was the Personal Characteristics Test (TKP) instrument which could identify radicalism. The research method was R & D development research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The content of the instrument was validated through the experts judgment and proven by construct validity by conformatory analysis and proven reliability. The results of this study was a valid and reliable measurement instrument that could identify radicalism for students. There were 5 dimensions of radicalism, starting from religion, family, personality, political views, and social relations. Focus Group Discussion produced 5 dimensions, 13 indicators, and 35 items that could be used to measure students’ radicalism attitudes. The results of the validity test contained 2 items that needed to be improved. The results of the reliability of the instruments developed were high and the instrument was ready to use.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the passivity of the fourth grade students at SD N Mrisen 1 and SD N Trengguli 3 during the learning process, which resulted in less optimal of the students‘ learning outcomes. Therefore, the researcher provided an alternative to learning by applying a cooperative learning model using comic-based learning media for fourth grade students at SD N Mrisen 1 and SD N Trengguli 3 as a comparison. This study aimed to analyze the effect of cooperative learning model with comic book media on the students‘ learning outcomes. This study was experimental research which was conducted through tests, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis, the students' average score increased from 48.80 to 79.04. The results of this study indicated that cooperative learning model with comic media provided an effect on the students‘ learning outcomes in science at grade IV elementary schools. Based on the research, teachers were advised to use cooperative learning models and comic-based media in order to improve students‘ science learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to 1) to find out the effectiveness of the integration technique module in integral calculus learning, and 2) to find out the increase in the mathematical creative thinking ability after implementing the integration technique module in integral calculus learning. The development of module was conducted by using ADDIE model with five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects in this study were 16 students in the 3rd semester of Mathematics Education Study Program, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau. The research instruments were an expert validation questionnaire, a student response questionnaire, and a mathematical creative thinking ability test. The data obtained were analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis methods. Based on the results of the validity test, the integration technique module was declared valid and suitable for students to use in the integral calculus course. Judging from the results of the module practicality test, the average percentage of practicality values was 77.8125 and was in the practical category. Referring to the results of the module effectiveness test, the n-gain average of students' mathematical creative thinking abilities was 0.64 and in the medium category. Because the integrated engineering module met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, it could be stated that the developed integration technique module improved students' mathematical creative thinking skills in the integral calculus course.
