Abstract

Correlation analysis is used if you want to know whether there is a correlation between two phenomena. To determine the type of correlation to be used, researchers need to consider whether or not the assumption of normality and data characteristics are met. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of the analysis using several correlation tests with both parametric and non-parametric approaches. The method used is to provide data simulation with three types of data characteristics, namely normal, skewed and data containing outliers. The test used is the correlation in the parametric approach with the Pearson Product Moment Test, while for the non-parametric approach is the Spearman Rank and Kendall Tau Rank tests. Furthermore, a case study is given. The results show that in correlation testing without considering data distribution and data characteristics. Can produce inaccurate conclusions.

Abstract

Often, scheduling final-year student exams becomes a problem within the scope of study programs, one of which is the Informatics Engineering study program at Widya Dharma University, Klaten. This is because the schedule of each examining lecturer is not the same, and besides that, the space available also varies every day. There are several alternative algorithms that can be used to solve scheduling problems, one of which is graph coloring. Graph coloring can include points, lines, and areas. In this research, researchers will try to divide student exam schedules using dot coloring, where the dot coloring algorithm used is Welch Powel The Welch Powell algorithm is the most frequently used graph coloring algorithm. This algorithm starts by sorting the degrees of the graph from largest to smallest, then assigns a color to the vertex at the largest vertex and assigns a different color to the vertices below that are not adjacent to that vertex. Keywords: Welch-Powell algorithm, graph, graph coloring.

Abstract

Diverse public opinions on social and economic issues related to labor migration are often expressed on the social media platform X (Twitter). This research aims to classify public sentiment toward this phenomenon by analyzing tweets containing the hashtag "#KaburAjaDulu". Sentiment classification is performed by comparing two Support Vector Machine (SVM) approaches that utilize indoBERT embeddings, a language model designed to capture the nuances of the Indonesian language. Both SVM models are trained using web crawling data from the X platform, with the main difference lying in the application of hyperparameter tuning on one of the models. The data collected through web crawling from the X platform then undergoes a pre-processing stage that includes text normalization and stopword removal. The results show that the SVM model optimized through hyperparameter tuning achieved an accuracy of 90.5%, higher than the SVM model without tuning which achieved only 77.7%. This finding underscores the importance of hyperparameter tuning in improving the performance of sentiment classification models, especially when utilizing rich feature representations such as indoBERT embeddings to understand deeper language context.

Abstract

This paper implements the extended MacWilliams theorem for linear codes, revisiting the MacWilliams theorem for the Complete Weight Enumerator (CWE) of codes with q = 3, 4, 5, and 7. Linear codes are a mathematical concept that can be described through the distribution of weights in each codeword. CWE serves to provide a complete representation of the symbols in each codeword. This article discusses how the MacWilliams theorem can be efficiently used to calculate the CWE of codes and optimize the design of error-correcting codes. The results of this research include the calculation of CWE for and . This study contributes theoretically to the understanding of linear code structures while opening up opportunities for the development of more efficient error-correcting code algorithms in modern communication systems.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of consuming iron supplementation tablets (TTD) along with milk on hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls, using the Chi-Square statistical analysis approach. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was applied. The subjects consisted of 58 respondents, divided into two groups: intervention (TTD + milk) and control (TTD only). Hemoglobin levels were measured before and after the intervention and categorized as "increased," "decreased," or "unchanged" for the purpose of Chi-Square analysis. The Chi-Square test was conducted both manually and using SPSS version 25. The manual calculation, based on the formula , yielded a value of approximately with 2 degrees of freedom. The SPSS analysis showed a Pearson Chi-Square value of 35.714 with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between the type of intervention and the change in hemoglobin levels. These findings support the notion that consuming iron supplements together with milk may inhibit iron absorption, resulting in a decrease in hemoglobin levels. Thus, the Chi-Square analysis demonstrates the categorical effect of the intervention on hemoglobin status.

Abstract

The allocation of student dormitory rooms often faces potential conflicts if not managed properly, especially when students from the same study program are assigned to the same room. This study aims to optimize the room assignment of students in Dormitory F at Universitas Islam Darul ‘Ulum by applying graph theory, specifically graph coloring using the Welch-Powell algorithm. Each student is represented as a vertex, and edges connect students from the same study program, indicating they should not share a room. The Welch-Powell algorithm colors the graph by ordering vertices in descending order of degree and assigning colors so that no two adjacent vertices share the same color. The results show that 14 students from 8 different study programs were successfully grouped into 4 rooms, ensuring no students from the same program share a room. This method effectively reduces potential conflicts, fosters an inclusive and heterogeneous dormitory environment, and broadens inter-program student interactions. The approach provides a practical solution for dormitory management to arrange room assignments efficiently and harmoniously.

Abstract

The problem of technician assignment in terms of production machine repair is the main focus of this research to help smooth the production process, maintain the availability and performance of the machine where the repair process depends on the efficiency of the technician team. Unexpected machine damage, the level of complexity of machine repair, as well as different competencies and availability of technicians are part of the uncertainty conditions in machine repair. This research focuses on the uncertainty scenario (Sk1, Sk2, Sk3) of technician assignment for production machine repair with a case study involving 3 machines (M1, M2, M3) and 4 technicians (T1, T2, T3, T4). The method used adapts the Hurwicz and Bayes rules (H+B) where this method is designed for one-time decisions and pure strategies with the aim of minimizing the total machine repair time. The results of the application of the optimal solution method found are assignments (T1 - M1) 6.67 hours, (T2 - M2) 8.46 hours, and (T4 - M3) 7.86 hours and resulting in a minimum total repair time of 22.99 hours. Further research could be conducted to extend the model to consider different repair costs and technician capabilities as well as other approaches to uncertainty such as Fuzzy Logic or Stochastic Programming.
