Abstract

Plastics are widely used in various needs of human life, starting from food wrapping material to the needs of automotive materials. Plastic is the most popular material and most widely used as a material for automotive component making, in addition to metal in the form of iron. The most important problem of plastics is the plastic waste that can not decompose naturally. It takes a very long time to clean up plastic waste from the face of the earth, especially since the use of plastic is almost unmanageable. Plastics also make the air temperature hotter day by day, due to its non-porous polymeric properties. At the moment, most products are produced without thinking of where they are going when consumed. Many products are also designed to fail within a certain period known as "planned obsolescence". This design philosophy is the cause behind overflowing landfills, plastic islands in the sea, and becoming a scourge such as packaging and products that clog the local ecosystem. Ecobrick is one of the creative efforts to manage plastic waste into useful objects, reducing pollution and toxins caused by plastic waste. Ecobrick is one of the creative endeavors for handling plastic waste. Its function is not to destroy plastic waste, but to extend the life of these plastics and process them into something useful, which can be used for the benefit of humans in general. Making ecobrick is still not so popular among the wider community. Most people still treat used plastics as household plastic waste, pollute the environment, rivers and pollute everyday life without self-awareness.Keywords: plastic waste, contamination, ecobrick, creative effort

Abstract

In recent years the world community has begun to pay attention to the rights of disabled people not least the Government and the people of Indonesia. Much effort has been made from law enforcement to the provision of assistance to disabled people. The object of this research is disabled people in Malang. There is still a lack of facilities for disabled in terms of accessibility and uniqueness in Indonesia that are able to sell motorcycles with a large number, as well as with the development of smartphone technology that gave rise to the phenomenon of GoJek provides the idea to make transportation equipment safe, comfortable and cheap for disabled people tuna daksa. The tool is a wheelchair that can be attached to a motorcycle (connector wheelchair). The design and development of wheelchair connector is done using QFD phase 1 and Ergonomic method. The benefit of QFD 1 is to get wheelchair connector specifications. The output of this research is 3D design. Key words: disabled people, QFD, ergonomic, product design

Even if you remember from time immemorial people also know traditional toys such as marbles, ‘dakon’, ‘sumbar suru’, ‘bekel’ balls, slingshots, and many others. In this study, the researcher took care in order to restore the habits of children in playing, through the development of dakon product design for revitalization.. The goal is to introduce dakon games to children in a more fresh form. The dakon product made is intended for children aged 3-5 years. Key words: child growth, toy products, dakon

Abstract

Cooking can be done by all people including by kids. Parents can start to teach and give a trust to their children when they are in the school-age. Also, it’s good to introduce children how to cook in the early age because cooking have many positive impacts for children. A kid who learns to cook will have healthier eating habit rather than other kids. To make them interest to learn to cook, its better if parents know what their kid wants about what kind of food they want to cook. Usually, kids feel interested to something they used to see everyday, in this case is traditional snacks. Besides, presenting traditional snack recipes as content, parents can teach them about the cultures of the origin of those snacks. Therefore, I as a designer will design an application for children with local culture as content, an interactive recipe application how to cook traditional snacks. After do many kinds of designing methods, from spreading questionnaires until observation to a sample of target audiences, hope the results can fit in the needs and solve the problems. Also this application can teach children how to cook their own food and make them proud of their own Indonesian local culture. Key words: application, traditional snack recipes, children

Abstract

Human, have been claimed to be central in a world perspective and bring an another investigating in design science. One of the process development in the design process is using Hierarchy Task Analysis (HTA) for idea development through task analysis. This method constituted from interdisciplinary science between industrial design and ergonomic. In the process, HTA has been adjusted and developed for the design process requirement. This condition affects the process analysis and format of the HTA. The paradigm shift, give more access for a designer to addresses idea development. Furthermore, Human activities, how they do it, using what and what kind of problems that can happen is going focused on user interaction with the product. All of these analysis and idea development is conducted using scheme and sketches. The result of ideas sketches to be able to work on next step process, for example, work on paper models or clay models. The result of ideas sketches to be able to continue work on next step process, for example, product existing analysis and work on modells. Research and developing HTA method for product design had the use of action research approach. This process engages lecturer and student as a user of HTA method. Through this approach, be able to found appropriateness HTA method which solves provided a problem. The result of HTA development has a benefit for a student as a one of planning and product development to arise a product based on ergonomic. Key words: product design, Hierarchy Task Analysis (HTA), ideation, design process, ideas sketches

Abstract

The Indonesian architectural city growth and development are strongly influenced by their heterogenity of sociocultural lives. each region produces various cultural artifacts that traditionally accommodate cultural concepts and noble values in every social activity and environmental arrangement around it. . This existence makes all provinces and regions of Indonesia have a distinctive building typology as a regional symbol that will be found at the region. The Bandar Lampung City Government has a special policy in managing city architecture by applying its cultural artifacts to every architectural environment and fostering it as a concept of regional cultural signs and symbols. Siger is one of the various regional sign concepts that emerge as an architectural sign on public buildings and their built environment in Bandar Lampung City. The implementation this concept is done with a variety of shapes and sizes that greatly affect the architectural form of the building. This inequality needs to be systematically facilitated through the search of scientific design and architecture to produce an ideal application model. This research was conducted using qualitative ethnographic research methods with analysis based on participant descriptive and argumentative observation. The study aims to identify siger as a sign of culture and reveal the relationship of application to the facade of public building architecture, through the classification of buildings. Furthermore, the design concept and the application model of Siger will be used as a proposal for the city government in managing the order of the architecture facade of public buildings and their environment in a sustainable manner.  Key words: architecture of Bandar Lampung City, Siger, model of architectural facade management
