Abstract

The school principal plays a key role in improving or enhancing the quality of educational units. Various strategies can be applied to enhance quality in educational units, one of which is through the implementation of superior programs, as carried out by the principal of SMAN 2 Pagaden. The objectives of this research are to describe the process of implementing superior programs, to analyze the impact of implementing superior programs on improving the quality of the educational unit, and to identify the inhibiting factors in implementing superior programs at SMAN 2 Pagaden. The type of research is qualitative, using methods of observation, interviews, documentation, and field observations. Based on the research results conducted by the researcher, SMAN 2 Pagaden has various superior programs, including morning routines, the principal's greeting program, outing campus, career guidance, monitoring of teaching and learning activities, learning communities and etc. The implementation of superior programs at SMAN 2 Pagaden begins with the planning stage, organization, implementation, and evaluation/follow-up. The implementation of superior programs at SMAN 2 Pagaden has positive impacts, including creating school programs that are student-centered, increasing the number of graduates who continue to higher education, improving school facilities and infrastructure, enhancing student achievement, and fostering collaboration with various school stakeholders. Meanwhile, the obstacles or challenges faced in the process of implementing superior programs at SMAN 2 Pagaden include limitations in human resources to drive activities, conservative attitudes from some parents and teachers at SMAN 2 Pagaden, and low management of monitoring for superior programs.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain new insights regarding the use of literacy tree media in teaching Indonesian language at the elementary school level. Second, it seeks to validate or examine existing knowledge about the effectiveness of literacy trees in supporting the development of a literacy culture. Third, it explores the progress of literacy tree utilization as an important tool in enhancing students’ reading and riting skills. This study employs a library research design ith content analysis of selected articles. Articles that met the criteria ere compiled and summarized, covering the author’s name, year of publication, research objectives, instruments, and findings. In total, 10 articles ere identified, all of hich ere published in national journals obtained through Publish or Perish using the keywords “literacy tree, elementary school, Indonesian language.” After applying the inclusion criteria, 7 articles ere critically reviewed to examine their core content and study results, identifying similarities and differences across the journals. The main findings indicate that the use of literacy tree media in classrooms significantly contributes to improving students’ reading interest, broadening their knowledge, and positively influencing the cultivation of a literacy culture.

Abstract

Loving local wisdom, being honest, and cooperating have become important values today. Local wisdom, such as traditional games, is starting to be forgotten. Through traditional games, students can rediscover and better understand subtraction material. Subtraction is one of the mathematics subjects that is difficult for Grade 1 elementary school/Islamic elementary school students to understand, which negatively impacts their learning outcomes. In addition, students still tend to have strong egos, making collaboration difficult. Therefore, to overcome these issues, the PBL model based on local wisdom and KBC becomes a solution to improve students’ learning outcomes and cooperation skills, as well as to foster honesty in a learning process filled with care. This research was conducted at MIN 3 Lebak, a branch of MIN 1 Lebak, using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the research findings, the implementation of the PBL model based on local wisdom and the integration of KBC can improve students’ learning outcomes and collaboration skills. The improvement in learning outcomes is shown by an increase in the students’ average score from 74.50 to 92.92. Students’ collaboration skills also improved, as seen from their increased activeness, ability to share tasks, participate in discussions to solve problems together, and practice honesty in a caring learning environment. Thus, the PBL model based on local wisdom and the integration of KBC is effective to be used and developed as an innovative learning model in elementary schools to improve learning outcomes, student cooperation, and foster honesty.

Abstract

The investigation goals to analyze how PBL paradigm has affected the critical thinking competence of fifth graders at SD N 1 Kadipiro who are studying Pancasila Education. This investigation is quasi-experimental in nature and employs a control group design that is not comparable. The beneficiaries of this research are the fifth graders of SDN 1 Kadipiro. The sample procedure made use of purposeful sampling. The instruments used in the investigation were tests and paperwork. M Normalcy, homogeneity, and t-tests were the tools used for data analysis.This study's findings show that PBL is an essential technique for improving fifth graders' critical thinking skills in Pancasila Education at SDN 1 Kadipiro. Sig < 0.05, or a significance value of 0.000, as shown by the t-test findings. The results of critical thinking skills among students at SDN Kadipiro 1 show a difference between classes 5A and 5B, where the results in the experimental class using the problem-based learning (PBL) model were 77.26 for class 5A, while class 5B scored 60.30. Thus, the data shows a significant improvement in the experimental class compared to the control class, so it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan fungsi-fungsi manajemen dalam pengelolaan Sekolah Terbuka di SMAN 1 Compreng, berdasarkan teori George R. Terry (Perencanaan, Pengorganisasian, Pelaksanaan, dan Pengawasan). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan studi dokumentasi, dengan melibatkan kepala sekolah, pengelola, bendahara, koordinator, guru pamong, dan tenaga administrasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keempat fungsi manajemen telah diimplementasikan dengan baik. (1) Perencanaan diawali dengan rapat koordinasi, pembentukan tim, serta perencanaan sarana-prasarana, pembiayaan (bersumber dari BOS Pusat), dan pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dengan sekolah induk. (2) Pengorganisasian dilaksanakan dengan struktur tim yang jelas dan pembagian tugas yang terstruktur, melibatkan guru dari sekolah induk dan masyarakat. (3) Pelaksanaan berjalan melalui workshop kurikulum, sistem pembelajaran hybrid (70% mandiri dan 30% tatap muka di akhir pekan), serta penilaian yang setara dengan sekolah reguler. (4) Evaluasi/Pengawasan dilakukan secara internal melalui rapat rutin dan monitoring kehadiran, serta eksternal oleh Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Jawa Barat. Kendala utama yang dihadapi adalah motivasi belajar peserta didik yang fluktuatif akibat tekanan ekonomi dan sosial, serta perlunya koordinasi yang lebih intensif dengan pemerintah desa untuk pendataan anak putus sekolah. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa model manajemen kolaboratif antara sekolah induk dan Sekolah Terbuka terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan angka partisipasi sekolah. Saran yang diajukan antara lain: memperkuat MoU dengan pemerintah desa/kelurahan, meningkatkan dukungan materil dan moril dari sekolah induk, serta mengembangkan strategi motivasi dan pendampingan yang lebih personal bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

This research is motivated by elementary school students' low understanding of democratic values, which is reflected in their lack of respect for opinions, low tolerance, and minimal participation in class activities. To overcome these problems, a contextual learning approach based on local wisdom is needed. This study aims to describe the implementation of democratic education based on Mandok Hata culture in Civics (PKn) lessons in an effort to improve the democratic character of elementary school students. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of PKn teachers and elementary school students involved in the implementation of Mandok Hata cultural values, namely Batak traditions that emphasize honesty, openness, deliberation, and respect for others. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the application of Mandok Hata cultural values ​​in PKn learning can improve students' democratic character, such as the ability to work together, respect differences of opinion, and dare to express opinions politely. Furthermore, learning activities that integrate local culture also strengthen students' cultural identity and sense of nationalism. Thus, local culture-based democratic education, such as Mandok Hata, has proven effective in shaping students' democratic character while also rooting them in the nation's local wisdom.

Informatics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, Citra Bangsa Kupang University. Supervisor Diana Yanni Ariswati Fallo, S. Kom., M.T, Dr. Maria M. B. Sogen, S.Kom. This thesis discusses the development of artificial intelligence (AI) applications with MIT app inventors to increase students' learning motivation in informatics subjects. The purpose of this study is to find out the development of artificial intelligence applications with app inventors in the learning process to increase student learning motivation and to determine the effectiveness of artificial intelligence applications with app inventors to increase the learning motivation of students in grades XI-4 and XI-5 of SMA Negeri 7 Kupang. This type of research is R&D with Qualitative and Quantitative data analysis techniques, using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, And Evaluation) model. To find out the effectiveness of application development, it can be seen from the results of students' pretest and posttest. Where students are given a pretest before implementing the development of artificial intelligence applications. There is a significant improvement in students' material understanding after students develop artificial intelligence applications and without using applications. Based on the results of the calculation of the pretest and postest average increase test (N-Gain) above , it shows that the average N-Gain is 76.7.7 > 0.7, so the category obtained is high. Meanwhile, the N-Gain score percent value is 76.71 which in the percentage table is included as effective.

Abstract

Sleep quality plays a crucial role in supporting teachers' emotional stability, attention, and work readiness. The phenomenon of sleep disorders occurring in some teachers raises questions about their impact on teaching effectiveness. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sleep quality and the teaching performance of teachers at MI Muhammadiyah 11 Bara Baraya. A non-experimental quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was used. All teachers who met the criteria were selected as respondents through a total sampling technique, resulting in a total of 10 teachers. Sleep quality data was obtained using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), while teaching performance was assessed using an observation rubric. Pearson correlation analysis was used with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an r value of 0.287 and p value of 0.392, indicating no significant relationship between sleep quality and teacher teaching performance. These findings suggest that teaching performance is more influenced by factors other than sleep quality, including teaching experience, pedagogical competence, and the school environment. Improving teacher well-being remains necessary as part of efforts to maintain the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the family environment and the school environment on the social character of upper-grade students at SD Komplek Watampone. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of 222 students from grades IV–VI, and 69 students were selected as the sample using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The results show that: (1) the family environment has a significant influence on students’ social character (B = 0.536; p = 0.000), (2) the school environment has a significant influence on students’ social character (B = 0.356; p = 0.026), and (3) both variables simultaneously have a significant influence on students’ social character (R² = 0.587; F = 46.854; p < 0.05). The beta coefficients indicate that the family environment has a more dominant influence compared to the school environment. These findings emphasize that the development of students’ social character is shaped through the synergy between the family as the primary foundation and the school as the reinforcement of social values. Parental role modeling, parenting patterns, and warm communication contribute greatly to nurturing children’s social character, while school culture, teacher example, and peer interaction further strengthen these values. Harmonious collaboration between home and school is essential for fostering optimal social character development.

Abstract

Fenomena transformasi digital yang masif telah mengubah situasi interaksi sosial remaja, khususnya siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini berfokus pada permasalahan mendesak mengenai implikasi atau dampak penggunaan media sosial terhadap perilaku sosial siswa di lingkungan SMP, mengingat peran penting masa remaja dalam pembentukan karakter. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan secara mendalam dampak positif dan negatifmedia sosial terhadap perilaku sosial siswa SMP Negeri 1 Wagir, Kabupaten Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif, dipilih untuk menggali kedalaman makna dan konteks perilaku sosial subjek. Lokasi penelitian ditetapkan secara spesifik di SMP Negeri 1 Wagir, Kabupaten Malang. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 40 siswa yang aktif menggunakan media sosial, 4 guru (termasuk guru Bimbingan Konseling dan wali kelas), serta 5 orang tua, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling untuk mendapatkan data kaya perspektif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif intensif di lingkungan sekolah, wawancara mendalam yang terstruktur, dan studi dokumentasi. Peneliti bertindak sebagai instrumen utama dibantu pedoman observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan secara verifikatif. Keabsahan data diuji secara ketat melalui triangulasi sumber, triangulasi metode, serta member check untuk menjamin kredibilitas temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial secara simultan menghadirkan dampak positif terutama dalam peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi digital, perluasan jaringan pertemanan berbasis minat, dan memfasilitasi ekspresi kreativitas. Namun, temuan kunci juga mengidentifikasi dampak negatif signifikan yang perlu diwaspadai, berupa menurunnya tingkat empati dalam interaksi tatap muka langsung, penurunan kualitas interaksi sosial di lingkungan sekolah, serta munculnya fenomena perilaku imitasi negatif dari konten viral, seperti kecenderungan cyberbullyinginformal. Kesimpulannya, media sosial berperan sebagai agen sosialisasi non-tradisional yang signifikan dalam membentuk sekaligus mendistorsi perilaku sosial siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan program literasi digital yang terstruktur dan pendampingan etika bermedia yang sinergis dan berkelanjutan antara guru, khususnya guru BK, dan orang tua.
