Abstract

This study discusses the policies and implementation of a decentralized curriculum within the context of current educational changes in Indonesia. The research is motivated by the shift from a centralized to a decentralized education system as part of regional autonomy reforms, which significantly affects curriculum management and school governance. This study aims to analyze the concept of educational decentralization, its implementation through various curriculum reforms, and the implications for school management and learning quality. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by analyzing books, scientific journals, regulations, and relevant policy documents. The findings indicate that the decentralized curriculum, which began to be applied through the 2006 School-Based Curriculum (KTSP), provided broad authority for schools to develop curricula according to local needs. This policy later shifted toward a semi-centralized model through the 2013 Curriculum, and was strengthened again in the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes flexibility, teacher autonomy, and project-based learning. However, the implementation of decentralized curriculum still faces challenges related to human resource readiness, regional disparities, infrastructure limitations, and policy consistency. Therefore, strong collaboration between the central government, local governments, and educational institutions is required to ensure the success of decentralized curriculum implementation and to improve the quality of national education.

Abstract

Participatory democracy is a form of democracy that emphasizes active community involvement in every public decision-making process. Since the enactment of Law No. 6 of 2014 on Villages, village governments are expected to be able to open up wider opportunities for community participation in every stage of development. This study focuses on analyzing the implementation of participatory democracy in Bandar Setia Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. The village government has a strategic role in encouraging community participation through both formal mechanisms such as village deliberations and informal mechanisms such as community discussions. Low community participation is a challenge in realizing participatory democracy at the local level. The purpose of this study is to determine how the participatory democracy process is carried out in Bandar Setia Village and to analyze the role of formal and informal mechanisms in increasing community involvement in village decision-making. The results of this study are expected to contribute to strengthening democratic practices at the village level and serve as evaluation material for the village government in creating more participatory, transparent, and equitable governance. Thus, it is hoped that a village government will be created that is capable of fostering a sense of ownership, trust, and shared responsibility between the government and the community.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between arm muscle strength and service speed in junior athletes. The issue addressed is the persistent variation in service ability, which is suspected to be influenced by suboptimal arm muscle strength. This study used a quantitative correlational design involving junior athletes aged 13-17 years old selected through a purposive sampling technique. Arm muscle strength was measured using a dynamometer, while service speed was measured using a calibrated speed gun. Data analysis was performed using a Pearson correlation test to determine the relationship between the two variables. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between arm muscle strength and service speed, meaning that greater arm muscle strength, higher service speed. This finding underscores the importance of arm muscle strengthening exercises in improving service performance in junior athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop procedural text learning materials supported by interactive PowerPoint media using the Genially application for Grade IX students at SMP Negeri 35 Medan. The research was motivated by findings that the textbook used by students still contains several shortcomings, particularly in terms of relevance, consistency, and adequacy of the material in relation to the Learning Outcomes (CP) and Learning Objectives (TP) of the Merdeka Curriculum. These limitations include the absence of systematic explanations of procedural text structure, minimal discussion of linguistic features, lack of step-by-step writing guidance, and visual presentations that remain monotonous and less engaging for students. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants consisted of a Bahasa Indonesia teacher and five Grade IX students. The findings indicate that the textbook does not fully support effective learning, both in terms of content completeness, clarity of presentation, and opportunities for students to practice procedural text writing skills. Based on these findings, the researchers developed more comprehensive and structured learning materials aligned with CP and TP, and presented them through an interactive PowerPoint enriched with Genially features. The resulting product, consisting of a revised student textbook and an interactive presentation, was found to be more engaging, easier to understand, and capable of increasing student participation during the learning process. This research highlights the importance of utilizing interactive media as an effective solution to improve the quality of Indonesian language learning, particularly in understanding and producing procedural texts.

Abstract

Pembelajaran inklusif merupakan pendekatan pendidikan yang mengakui dan menghargai keberagaman siswa, termasuk siswa dengan kebutuhan khusus, siswa dari latar belakang sosial ekonomi yang berbeda, dan siswa dengan kemampuan yang beragam. Implementasi pembelajaran inklusif di sekolah reguler masih menghadapi tantangan, seperti kurangnya sumber daya, kurangnya pelatihan guru, kurangnya kesadaran akan pentingnya pendidikan inklusif, dan kurangnya infrastruktur yang mendukung. Namun, pembelajaran inklusif juga menawarkan peluang besar untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, seperti meningkatkan kesadaran akan keberagaman, meningkatkan toleransi, dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Artikel ini membahas tantangan dan peluang pembelajaran inklusif di sekolah reguler, serta strategi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan inklusif seperti pengembangan kurikulum yang inklusif, pelatihan guru, kolaborasi dengan orang tua dan masyarakat, dan pengembangan infrastruktur yang mendukung Kata Kunci: Inklusif,Sekolah Reguler,Tantangan dan Peluang

Abstract

Ethical leadership is a crucial aspect in the management of educational institutions, as the principal's role extends beyond mere administration and serves as a moral role model for the entire school community. This study aims to measure the implementation of ethical leadership in schools based on teachers' perceptions and analyze its impact on teachers' trust, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. This study uses a mixed-method approach with an explanatory design. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire adapted from the Ethical Leadership Scale (Brown, Treviño, & Harrison, 2005), with all teachers as the study population. Data analysis techniques included validity and reliability tests, descriptive analysis, correlation, multiple regression, and mediation tests. The results are expected to provide an empirical picture of the extent to which ethical leadership is implemented by principals, as well as its implications for improving teacher performance and strengthening the school's ethical culture.

Abstract

Equivalency education through non-formal pathways plays a crucial role in providing learning opportunities for communities with limited access to formal education, particularly in preparing life skills to face the challenges of a dynamic workforce. This research aims to describe the implementation model of life skills-based learning in the Package B program at the Ummatan Wasathon Community Learning Center (PKBM), Kasemen District, Serang City, Banten Province, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The implementation method used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through observation and interviews. The results showed that life skills-based learning is implemented through planning stages (learning style analysis and material design), implementation (practical activities such as group discussions, presentations, and ice cream craft practice in English, Indonesian, and Craft subjects), and evaluation (assessment of material understanding and product quality). The program successfully enhanced creativity, collaboration, confidence, and motivation among learners, despite challenges such as age heterogeneity, resource limitations, and attendance consistency. The conclusion affirms that this approach is effective in equipping practical skills for personal and economic independence, with potential replication in other institutions. Research recommendations include intensifying fundraising for practical tools and developing blended learning modules.

Abstract

Character education is an essential part of developing students' personalities in elementary schools. The values of responsibility and discipline are the main foundations for developing positive attitudes and behaviors in students. This study aims to describe the implementation of extracurricular marching band activities at SDN 131/II SKB Batin III Bungo Jambi as a means of instilling the character of responsibility anddiscipline. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques throughobservation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that marching band activities fosterstudents' sense of responsibility towards their duties, improve discipline in practice and attendance, and foster cooperation and cohesiveness among members. Supporting factors for these activities include the active role of instructors, school support, and student enthusiasm. Inhibiting factors include limited facilitiesand practice time. Overall, the extracurricular marching band activity has proven effective as a vehicle for developing the character of responsibility and discipline in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to develop WAKTUMI (Time for Mini Muslims) learning media in the form of daily activity cards on time materials for grade II students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D model which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The research instruments include validation sheets from media experts, material experts, and student response questionnaires. The results of the validation of media experts showed an average score of 91.3%, while the validation of material experts obtained 91.6%, both of which are in the very feasible category. Meanwhile, the student response questionnaire obtained a score of 37 with a positive category. These findings prove that WAKTUMI media can be used effectively in learning the concept of time because it facilitates students' understanding of the relationship between analog clocks, digital clocks, and daily routines. In addition, the integration of religious activities such as prayer and prayer strengthens character values in learning. Therefore, WAKTUMI media deserves to be used as an innovative, contextual, and religious learning media to improve the understanding of the concept of time for MI students.

Abstract

This research aims to develop integrated Science-Mathematics learning materials based on the local wisdom of Sasak culture, especially Gendang Beleq, and to examine their effectiveness in improving students’ understanding of cylinder geometry concepts and Sasak music composition creativity among eighth-grade students of SMPN 3 Kuripan, West Lombok. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The final products include sound-based science learning content (focused on frequency, amplitude, and resonance), contextual visual representations of cylinder geometry found in the shape of Gendang Beleq, two Student Worksheets (LKPD), and a deep Learning-based Lesson Plan (RPP) integrating cultural observation and collaborative music creation activitie. Feasibility validation involved three validators: material expert (88%), media expert (91%), and classroom teacher (85%), with a mean feasibility score of 88% (highly feasible). The sample consisted of 62 student selected through cluster random sampling. Learning effectiveness analysis used Wilcoxon signed-rank and N-Gain. The result indicate a significant improvement in geometry understanding, with pretest 58.4 increasing to posttest 76.3, and music creativity improving 24.5 points (58.0 → 82.5, high category). These findings confirm that Gendang Beleq-based cultural integration contextualizes abstract STEM concepts, enhances affective engagement, and fosters mathematical reasoning and musical reativity holistically at the junior secondary level.
