Abstract

This research aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling services using a solution focused brief counseling (SFBC) approach in increasing students' altruistic behavior. The research method used is quasi-experimental type pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study was 72 students in classes XI.2 and XI.3. The sample for this research consisted of 10 people who were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection technique used was an altruistic behavior questionnaire using a Likert scale model. The research data analysis technique uses the t-test (paired sample test). The pre-test and post-test results of the experimental group experienced an increase in the level of altruistic behavior before and after being provided with group counseling services using the solution focused brief counseling (SFBC) approach. This can be seen from the hypothesis results produced in the experimental group which were greater with a t-test value of -32.255 and a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, while the control group had a t-test value of -3.437 and a significant value of 0.026 < 0.05. This means that there is an influence of group counseling services with a solution focused brief counseling (SFBC) approach which is effective in increasing students' altruistic behavior. This research suggests that guidance and counseling teachers use group counseling services with a solution focused brief counseling (SFBC) approach to increase students' altruistic behavior. Keywords: group counseling, altruistic behavior, solution focused brief counseling.

Abstract

Community or social groups in schools are one way for adolescents to find their identity in the school environment. This study aims to uncover and understand the motives that drive adolescents to choose to join a community at school. The study used a qualitative approach with an in-depth interview method with three student members of the community representing grades 10, 11, and 12. The results showed that the main motives for adolescents to join the community were the need for a sense of belonging, search for identity, the influence of seniors and traditions, and the need for emotional support. The community functions as a place to fulfill social-emotional needs and a coping mechanism in dealing with academic and social pressures. This study provides important implications for schools and counselors in developing student development programs that accommodate adolescents' needs for a positive community. Keywords: adolescents, membership motive, school community

Abstract

The transition process to adulthood known as emerging adulthood does not always occur without obstacles, often influenced by the mismatch between ideal expectations and the reality faced. This can potentially cause a crisis that is often referred to as a quarter-life crisis. This article aims to explore the causes of the quarter-life crisis experienced by generation Z in Indonesia that affect individuals who are in the emerging adulthood phase. In this study, the method used is a literature study that analyzes four relevant journal articles. The data collected were analyzed using qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques to describe the results of the literature. The results of the study indicate that there are internal and external factors that cause quarter-life crisis among generation Z in Indonesia. Understanding these factors in depth is important to support the mental health of generation Z. The various challenges faced by generation Z are very complex, but they also have the opportunity to develop and learn through self-awareness. Keywords: emerging adulthood, generation z, quarter life crisis
