Abstract

Viscous fluid can micro-rotate due to collisions between particles that affect viscous fluid's velocity and temperature. This study aims to determine the effect of viscosity parameters, micro-rotation materials, and heat sources on fluid velocity and temperature. The model of the laminar flow equation for viscous fluid in this study uses the laws of physics, namely, the law of conservation of mass, Newton II, and Thermodynamics I. The formed dimensional equations are converted into non-dimensional equations by using non-dimensional variables. Then, the non-dimensional equations are converted into similarity equations using stream function and similarity variables. The formed similarity equation was solved numerically by using the Gauss-Seidel method. The results of this study indicate that the velocity and temperature of the viscous fluid flow can be influenced by the parameters of viscosity, micro-rotation material, and heat source. The presence of collisions between particles causes heat to cause an increase in the variance of viscosity parameters, micro-rotation materials, and heat sources. Therefore, the viscous fluid's velocity decreases and its temperature increases.

Abstract

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, various mathematical models have been developed to describe its spread using the compartment model. The purpose of this research was to construct a new model of Covid-19. This formulated model is an application of SEIRS epidemic model by Zhang & Teng (2007) and a modification of the Covid-19 model by Chatterjee et al. (2020) by adding variations of quarantine. The model is analyzed by determining the disease-free fixed point and basic reproduction number 〖(R〗_0) through the next generation matrix method. The next step is to analyze the sensitivity to find out the parameters that have the most influence on the spread of Covid-19. The disease will not spread in the population if the value of R_0<1, while the disease will spread if the value of R_0>1. The result of the sensitivity analysis stated the parameters that can be controlled and have the most significant effect, respectively, are the transmission rate from symptomatic infected individuals (β_2 ),transmission rates from asymptomatic infected individuals (β_1 ), quarantine rates for symptomatic infected individuals (θ_3), and quarantine rates for asymptomatic infected individuals (θ_2). Parameters β_2 and β_1 have a negative index, while θ_3 and θ_2 have a negative index. It means decreasing the transmission rate from infected individuals and increasing the quarantine rate for infected individuals can decrease the spread of Covid-19. Therefore there will not be an outbreak in the long term.

Abstract

Often the use of repeated questions and answers is given by the teacher so that they cannot analyze students' mathematical literacy abilities. There needs to be a solution to the PISA problem so that student competencies can be seen clearly. The teacher should analyze this so that it does not happen continuously so that a way can be found to overcome it. The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical literacy of junior high school students when working on PISA questions in the Minang context. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The results of the PISA test and interviews became the data in this study. To find out more detailed data, the authors took the research subjects based on the results of the PISA test later and categorized the subjects into the highest, medium and lowest. In this study, researchers used indicators of mathematical literacy level according to PISA. The results of this study indicate that in formulating the situation mathematically is 75%, reasoning 33.05% and solving problems 14.44%. That is, on average, students are only able to answer problems only up to level 2 PISA, that the ability to formulate situations mathematically.

Abstract

We consider the problem of three-dimensional cutting of a large block that is to be cut into some small block pieces, each with a specific size and request. Pattern generation is an algorithm that has been used to determine cutting patterns in one-dimensional and two-dimensional problems. The purpose of this study is to modify the pattern generation algorithm so that it can be used in three-dimensional problems, and can determine the cutting pattern with the minimum possible cutting residue. The large block will be cut based on the length, width, and height. The rest of the cuts will be cut back if possible to minimize the rest. For three-dimensional problems, we consider the variant in which orthogonal rotation is allowed. By allowing the remainder of the initial cut to be rotated, the dimensions will have six permutations. The result of the calculation using the pattern generation algorithm for three-dimensional problems is that all possible cutting patterns are obtained but there are repetitive patterns because they suggest the same number of cuts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the form of teacher readiness and difficulty when implementing the mathematics curriculum in high school, measured from four teacher competency assessments. Schools in Indonesia are still 50% learning from home until 2022, this situation has an impact on the achievement of student learning outcomes. In 2020, the ministry conducted a survey of 4000 students and the results of the survey and out of 100% of the participants, 58% were of the opinion that online learning was ineffective, 38% lacked attention from the teacher, 35% had poor communication, 62% had poor internet access, and 80% had difficulty learning mathematics online. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. The technique of collecting data is by means of field observations, interviews and collecting documentary evidence. Data analysis techniques by presenting data, data reduction and intersecting data are drawn into conclusions. The number of people who were observed was 2 with a total of 58 and 13 people interviewed sources. Findings, difficulties arise from unprepared pedagogic competence and professional competence. Teachers have no self-constructed modules, difficulty writing symbols and mathematical proofs online. Students provide an assessment of teacher competence online, from 100% of respondents 80% disagree with pedagogic and 90% disagree with professional competence. This is due to the lack of readiness of the two competencies. In conclusion, online learning is expected by students and teachers to have their own modules. Students argue that the teacher's difficulties when writing symbols, providing examples of questions and proving mathematical formulas can be written in modules and modules can be given to students to study at home.

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) asserted the recently discovered severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), also known as COVID-19, a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Since the genesis and growth mechanisms of this virus are unclear and impossible to detect, there are still many uncertainties concerning it and no vaccination or effective treatment. The main goal is to halt its global spread. This paper employed a regression growth model with an extended Weibull function on the dynamics of COVID-19 to make predictions about its spread. Our findings demonstrate the viability of using this model to forecast the spread of the virus. Using a logistic growth regression model, the note tabulates the COVID-19-related final epidemic sizes for a few sites, including Ireland and Israel.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Fuzzy Sugeno in classifying textual data obtained from Twitter so as to determine the polarity of public opinion regarding PPKM policies and Covid-19 vaccinations. This study uses primary data via Twitter related to COVID-19 vaccination and PPKM policies in Indonesia starting from February 9, 2021 to January 17, 2022. There are several stages carried out, namely data collection, data pre-processing, data labeling, data weighting. , identification of membership functions, determination of fuzzy sets, formation of classification systems, and evaluation of classification results. The results of this study explain that Fuzzy Sugeno's performance in classifying tweets is quite good with an average accuracy of 89.13%. Meanwhile, public opinion regarding PPKM policies and Covid-19 vaccinations tends to be balanced with 36.92% of tweets classified as positive sentiments, 22.85% negative sentiments, and another 40.23% classified as neutral sentiments. In addition, the fuzzy set that is formed based on the data observation method is very well done because it is able to adjust the frequency of the data in each category. This really helps improve the performance of the built classification system.
