Abstract

The low level of students' Computational Thinking often stems from a lack of interest, inadequate conceptual understanding, or ineffective teaching methods. This study aims to examine the effect of the Games Based Learning (GBL) model assisted by Kahoot media on the Computational Thinking of elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental design of the One Group Pretest-Posttest type. The data collection technique used is a written test consisting of 5 essay questions. Data analysis uses descriptive tests, normality tests, and hypothesis tests. The results of the paired t-test data analysis show a significance value (p-value) <0.05 which results in the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1) clearly indicating a positive and significant effect of this intervention. The average Post-test score (76.93) increased drastically compared to the Pre-test (52.43) which proves that GBL supported by Kahoot is effective in improving students' Computational Thinking abilities in science learning. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of the GBL learning model supported by Kahoot media has a positive and significant influence on improving students' Computational Thinking in science learning. Therefore, this model is recommended as a prospective pedagogical strategy. For further studies, it is recommended to use a more robust experimental design with a control group and consider a longer intervention duration, as well as complement it with qualitative evaluation for a deeper understanding.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the Smart Module learning media is valid for use and how the student learning outcomes are after using this module. The success or failure of a learning process, especially in Islamic religious education that focuses on character education, is determined by the learning media used. In realizing this success, a problem arises, namely that teachers are still monotonous in using learning media so that learning cannot be received properly by students. Seeing this problem, researchers created a new innovation, the Smart Module, a technology-based character education learning media innovation, namely technology that can combine the virtual world with the real world at the same time. This study uses the R & D type with the Borg and Gall development model. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, questionnaires, literature studies, documentation and trials, then analyzed using media expert validation analysis techniques, material expert validation analysis techniques and trial analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the Smart Module has a validity level of 92% and can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition constitutes a foundational element in English language learning, yet many learners encounter significant challenges in developing and retaining lexical knowledge. This study aimed to investigate university students’ perceptions of Webtoon—a digital comic application—as a supplementary medium for enhancing English vocabulary, specifically examining (1) how Webtoon facilitates vocabulary improvement and (2) which genre types are most effective for lexical development. Employing a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews as the primary data collection instrument, six undergraduate students from the English Language Education program at a private university in Central Java were purposively selected and participated in this research. Data were transcribed verbatim and analyzed thematically through open coding, categorization, and member-checking procedures to ensure credibility. The findings demonstrate that Webtoon facilitates vocabulary development through three primary mechanisms: engaging narrative content, contextual learning supported by visual scaffolding, and exposure to real-life language use including colloquialisms and idioms. Furthermore, students reported positive attitudes toward Webtoon’s integration into their learning practices. Both formal- and informal-language genres were found to offer distinct advantages, suggesting that a balanced combination of genre types yields the most comprehensive vocabulary enrichment. These results underscore Webtoon’s potential as an innovative and motivating pedagogical tool in English language education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of natural media in Pancasila Education to foster environmental awareness among elementary school students. This study uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory type. The study was conducted at SD Peradaban Serang in January 2026 with research subjects consisting of two Pancasila Education teachers and ten fourth and fifth grade students selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through method triangulation. The research findings indicate that natural media, such as dried leaves, small stones, twigs, and plants in the school environment, can be utilized as contextual learning resources in Pancasila Education. The use of natural media was able to increase students’ activeness, enthusiasm, and engagement in the learning process. In addition, nature-based learning encouraged the development of environmental awareness, responsibility, and cooperation as forms of practicing Pancasila values, particularly the second, third, and fifth principles. Teachers played an important role in planning, implementing, and connecting the use of natural media with learning materials and Pancasila values, thereby making the learning process more meaningful. The conclusion of this study shows that natural media is an effective alternative learning resource in supporting contextual Pancasila education and contributes to fostering environmental awareness among elementary school student.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the My Dreams is My Motivation Digital Comic as a group guidance medium to increase learning motivation in junior high school students. This study uses the R&D method with the ADDIE development model. The subjects in this study were 2 guidance and counseling teachers and 6 students in the initial field trial. The operational group test consisted of 40 students. Data collection techniques and instruments used a media feasibility test scale, a material feasibility test scale, a guidance and counselling teacher response questionnaire, a student response questionnaire, and a learning motivation scale. The results of this study show that 1) Digital Comics Eligibility for “My Dreams is My Motivation”, according to media experts, was categorised as "very feasible" with a percentage of 4.15%, the assessment of material experts was categorised as "very feasible" with a percentage of 4.36%; 2) Practicality of Digital Comics “My Dreams is My Motivation." According to teachers, guidance and counselling are categorised as "very practical" with a percentage of 4.36%; 3) Digital Comic Effectiveness “My Dreams is My Motivation” is very effective in increasing students motivation to learn.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of integrating spiritual education and ecological concern in building students' character in the midst of the challenges of moral degradation and environmental crises. Many educational institutions still focus on academic achievement so that the formation of spiritual-ecological character has not been optimally developed. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the synergy of Islamic values and the concept of nature schools in building the spiritual-ecological based character of students in Sayogya (Yogyakarta Nature School). This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of five people, namely one school principal or foundation head and four teachers who were selected through purposive sampling. The data collection technique was carried out through in-depth interviews and documentation, then analyzed using qualitative data analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawn. The results of the study show that Sayogya integrates Islamic values through the habituation of faith, morals, worship, and ukhuwah in students' daily activities. The concept of nature schools is applied through real-life experience-based learning such as gardening, animal husbandry, nature conservation, and social interaction with the surrounding community. The synergy between Islamic values and nature-based learning forms the spiritual-ecological character of students which is characterized by the growth of gratitude, responsibility as a caliph on earth, concern for the environment, and simple living behavior. These findings show that the integration of Islamic education and the concept of natural schools can be an effective holistic educational model in shaping a religious, moral, and ecological conscious generation in responding to current educational challenges.

Abstract

Critical and creative reasoning skills are essential twenty-first-century competencies that elementary school students need to develop. However, evidence from the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and preliminary field studies indicates that Indonesian elementary students continue to demonstrate relatively low levels of these competencies. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Sasak local wisdom-based instructional materials integrated with the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) learning model to enhance elementary school students' critical and creative reasoning skills. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Four-D (4D) model, consisting of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The study involved elementary school students from Cluster 03, Jonggat District, Central Lombok Regency. The effectiveness of the developed instructional materials was examined using a quasi-experimental design with experimental and control groups. The product developed was a Grade IV Phase B science instructional material entitled “Lingkunganku Bersih Desaku Lestari”, integrating the SETS learning process with visual elements reflecting Sasak local culture. Expert validation indicated that the instructional materials were highly feasible in terms of content, language, media design, and assessment instruments. Teacher and student responses also demonstrated that the materials were highly practical for classroom implementation. Furthermore, the instructional materials significantly improved students' critical and creative reasoning skills, as indicated by independent- and paired-samples t-tests (p < .001). The N-gain analysis showed high improvement in critical reasoning (0.72) and moderate improvement in creative reasoning (0.57) in the experimental group, while the control group demonstrated low improvement. These findings demonstrate that integrating Sasak local wisdom into the SETS learning model provides an effective contextual learning approach for improving elementary school students' critical and creative reasoning skills.

Abstract

The learning of ISMUBA (Al-Islam, Muhammadiyahan, and Arabic) at Muhammadiyah Junior High School 1 Gamping plays an important role in shaping the religious understanding and character of students. However, learning practices in schools still face low enthusiasm and student involvement due to monotonous learning patterns and minimal participation. This condition encourages the need to implement a learning model that is able to create a fun and meaningful learning atmosphere. This study aims to analyze the application of the Joyful Learning model in improving student learning outcomes in ISMUBA subjects. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design through in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The credibility of the findings was enhanced through cross-informant comparison among the participating ISMUBA teachers. The results of the study show that Joyful Learning can increase student involvement through interactive activities, discussions, and the use of varied learning media, so that the understanding of ISMUBA material becomes more contextual. The implementation of this model is supported by curriculum flexibility, teacher creativity, and school support, although it still faces time constraints and differences in student character. These findings show that Joyful Learning is relevant to strengthen the quality of ISMUBA learning that is oriented towards meaningful learning and character development.

Abstract

Understanding the student's character is key to the success of counselling  services. It is not uncommon for guidance and counselling  teachers to receive requests from clients due to differences in perspectives between generations. Generation Z and Alpha are the clients targeted by guidance and counselling  services today, so that in addition to understanding the problems, guidance and counselling  teachers must also understand how to view these digital native generations. This study aims to conceptually examine the characteristics of Generation Z and Alpha as clients, while also identifying the opportunities and challenges facing the guidance and counselling  profession. The study was conducted using a systematic literature review method specifically using SINTA and SCOPUS indexed articles as references. The results show that Generation Z and Alpha as clients have a high attachment to digital technology, good awareness of mental health issues, but are vulnerable in communication, problem-solving, and social relationships. These characteristics encourage the guidance and counselling  profession to develop flexible, accessible, and technology-based services, but at the same time demand a transformation of paradigms, competencies, and counselling  practices to remain client-cantered. The main challenge lies in meaningful counselling relationships, as well as strengthening identity and belonging in clients.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interactive learning media Wordwall on students’ learning outcomes in multiplication mathematics material at the fourth grade of SDN Jatibening IV. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of an experimental class using Wordwall media and a control class using conventional learning methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through learning outcome tests in the form of pretests and posttests, which were then analyzed using statistical tests. The results showed that there was a difference in learning outcomes between the control class and the experimental class. The t-test results obtained a t-count value of 8.608, which was greater than the t-table value of 2.002, with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. This finding demonstrates that the use of interactive learning media Wordwall has a significant effect on students’ mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, Wordwall proved to be effective in improving students learning outcomes in multiplication mathematics material at the elementary school level. In conclusion, the use of interactive learning media Wordwall has a positive effect on mathematics learning outcomes in multiplication material and can be considered an effective alternative learning medium for improving elementary school students’ achievement.
