Journal of Character Education Society (JCES) | ISSN 2614-3666, is one of the devotion journals managed by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Muhammadiyah University of Mataram and published every January and July. Abstract

Abstrak: Kasus Covid-19 sudah menjadi pandemi di Indonesia maupun dunia. Berbagai macam vaksin sudah dikembangkan dan sudah diedarkan di masyarakat, namun masih banyak masyarakat yang meragukan keamanan dan efektivitas vaksin Covid-19. Edukasi daring ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi yang benar kepada masyarakat sehingga dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai vaksin Covid yang sedang beredar di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemaparan materi oral secara daring dengan menggunakan fasilitas google meet. Sebelum dan sesudah pemaparan materi, peserta diharapkan mengisi soal pre-test dan post-test melalui google form yang nantinya akan dianalisis perbedaan rerata pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah menerima materi menggunakan uji Wilcoxon melalui program SPSS. Rerata pengetahuan peserta edukasi daring sebelum pemaparan materi adalah 59,09 sedangkan setelah pemaparan materi didapatkan rerata skor 76,13. Pengaruh edukasi secara daring memberikan perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap tingkat pengetahuan peserta dengan p=0.004.Abstract: The case of Covid-19 has become a pandemic in Indonesia and the world. Various vaccines have been developed and have been circulated in the community, but there are still many people who doubt the safety and effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccine. This online education aims to provide correct information to the public to increase knowledge and understanding about the Covid vaccine that is circulating in Indonesia. The method used is the exposure of oral material online using the google meet facility. Before and after the material exposure, participants are expected to fill in pre-test and post-test questions through google form which will be analyzed the difference in average knowledge before and after receiving the material using the Wilcoxon test through SPSS program. The average knowledge of online education participants before material exposure was 59.09 while after material exposure was obtained an average score of 76.13. The influence of online education made a significant difference to participants' knowledge levels with p=0.004.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di wilayah komunitas mangrove bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mitra sasaran terkait fungsi, nilai, dan manfaat mangrove sehingga mitra sasaran bertindak melestarikan mangrove, keberlanjutan ekonomi, dan keseimbangan pembangunan. Rangkaian program yang dilakukan berupa focus group discussion yang dipandu oleh moderator untuk mengidentifikasi masalah , penyuluhan sebagai solusi pemecahan masalah, dan evaluasi. Metode penyuluhan dilaksanakan dengan ceramah. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 30 peserta berasal dari empat wilayah ekosistem mangrove yaitu Kladufu, Tampa Garam, Remu Selatan, dan SP IV. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan yang dilakukan dengan wawancara dan observasi diperoleh 100% mitra menggunakan alat tangkap ramah lingkungan, 80 % menangkap dengan ukuran dan berat sesuai regulasi, dan 40% menanam mangrove untuk keberlanjutan.Abstract: Community service activities in the mangrove community area aim to increase the target partners' understanding of the functions, values and benefits of mangroves so that target partners act to conserve mangroves, economic sustainability, and balance development. The series of programs carried out in the form of focus group discussions guided by the moderator to identify problems, counseling as a solution to problem solving, and evaluation. The extension method is carried out by lecturing. The activity was attended by 30 participants from four areas of the mangrove ecosystem, namely Kladufu, Tampa Garam, Remu Selatan, and SP IV. The results of the evaluation of activities carried out by interviews and observations obtained that 100% of partners used environmentally friendly fishing gear, 80% caught the size and weight according to regulations, and 40% planted mangroves for sustainability.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan, masalah yang dihadapi masyarakat di Desa Massamaturu Kabupaten Takalar adalah kurangnya informasi tentang pemanfaatan limbah ternak dan penerapan teknologi pengolahan limbah ternak menjadi energi terbarukan. Sehingga tujuan pemberdayaan masyarakat ini adalah untuk: 1) meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan limbah ternak, 2) mengkaji pemanfaatan teknologi biogas sebagai penerapan teknologi pengolahan limbah ternak menjadi energi terbarukan, dan 3) mengkaji kondisi masyarakat setelah kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan. Metode pengumpulan data selama pelaksanaan yaitu melakukan wawancara langsung pada kelompok masyarakat penerima manfaat. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan metode  deskriptif kualitatif. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari pemberdayaan ini  adalah program biogas skala rumah tangga dengan kapasitas digester 2 m3 sangat berguna untuk dimanfaatkan masyarakat, terutama bagi kelompok peternak. Terdapat tiga manfaat utamanya, antara lain: (1) Masyarakat mendapatkan bahan bakar alternatif pengganti LPG yaitu Biogas, (2) Masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan luaran olahan biogas menjadi pupuk organik untuk pertanian, (3) Masyarakat teredukasi melalui program ini karena limbah kotoran ternak dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kepentingan ekonomi masyarakat dan menjaga kelestarian lingkungan. Selain itu penerapan teknologi biogas dapat menghasilkan pupuk organik padat dan cair guna kesuburan tanaman akibat meningkatnya unsur hara tanah dari pemberian pupuk organik tersebut, sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapat masyarakat karena biaya pembelian pupuk tidak diperlukan lagi.Based on the results of the needs analysis, the problem faced by the community in Massamaturu Village, Takalar Regency is the lack of information on the use of livestock waste and the application of technology for processing livestock waste into renewable energy. So that the objectives of this community empowerment are to 1) increase public knowledge about the use of livestock waste, 2) study the use of biogas technology as an application of technology for processing livestock waste into renewable energy, and 3) assess the condition of the community after PKM activities are carried out. The method of collecting data during the implementation was conducting direct interviews with the beneficiary community groups. Analysis of research data using qualitative descriptive methods. The conclusion obtained from this empowerment is that the household-scale biogas program with a digester capacity of 2 m3 is very useful for the community, especially for farmer groups. There are three main benefits, including: (1) The community gets an alternative fuel to replace LPG, namely Biogas, (2) The community can use the output of processed biogas to become organic fertilizer for agriculture, (3) The community is educated through this program because livestock manure can be used for the benefit of the community's economy and environmental preservation. Also, the application of biogas technology can produce solid and liquid organic fertilizers for plant fertility due to the increase in soil nutrients from the application of organic fertilizers, so that it can increase public opinion because the cost of purchasing fertilizers is no longer needed.

Abstract

Abstrak: Desa Sungai Kupah merupakan desa dengan potensi kawasan hutan mangrove seluas 133 hektar. Vegetasi yang paling banyak ditemukan dalam hutan mangrove di desa tersebut yaitu buah nipah. Namun, buah nipah belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal oleh masyarakat sedangkan kandungan buah nipah potensial dikembangkan sebagai olahan pangan. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan pengolahan buah nipah menjadi permen jelly ditujukan untuk ibu rumah tangga dan anggota karang taruna Desa Sungai Kupah sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan buah nipah sebagai permen jelly sehingga membuka peluang usaha baru untuk masyarakat. Tahapan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi penyuluhan, pembuatan permen jelly, serta diskusi dan evaluasi. Permen jelly dari buah nipah memiliki tekstur yang lebih kenyal dibandingkan permen jelly dari lidah buaya yang merupakan produk khas Kalimantan Barat. Kelebihan dari pemanfaatan buah nipah sebagai permen jelly yaitu bahan baku yang murah dan mudah didapatkan, alat dan cara pengolahan yang sederhana, menguntungkan, dan memiliki peluang pasar. Pembentukan dan pendampingan kelompok usaha olahan pangan dari buah nipah perlu dilaksanakan sebagai tindak lanjut kegiatan pelatihan sehingga terwujud usaha yang terarah, terstuktur, dan berkesinambungan. Peningkatan hardskill peserta berupa kemampuan pengolahan [ermen jelly mencapai 80 % sedangkan peningkatan softskill berupa menajemen waktu dan peluang mencapai 40%. Abstract: Sungai Kupah village is a village with potential mangrove forest area as 133 hectares. The most abundant vegetation in the mangrove forest of this village is nipa fruit. However, nipa fruit has not been utilized optimally by the villagers while nipa fruit content is potential to be developed for processed food.  Therefore, training of nipa fruit processing into jelly candy for housewives and youth organization members of Sungai Kupah village had been done as community service.  The aim of this activity was to increase community knowledge and skill in nipa fruit processing into jelly candy so that opens up new business opportunities for the community.  The stages in this activity included: counseling, jelly candy processing, discussing and evaluating.  Jelly candy of nipa fruit was chewier than aloe vera jelly candy which is West Kalimantan specialty product. The advantages of nipa fruit utilization for jelly candy were: raw materials were cheap and easy to obtain, simple processing tools and methods, profitable and had market opportunities.  Establishment and assistance of nipa fruit processed food business group are necessary as follow-up to training activities so that a directed, structured and sustainable business can be created. The increase of the participants hardskill in the form of jelly candy processing ability reached 80 %, while the increase of softskill in the form of time and opportunity management reached 40%.
