Abstract

The main focus of this research is centered on the issue of low critical thinking skills among high school students, particularly in the study of elasticity and Hooke's law. The research aims to investigate how a context-based learning model with the assistance of PhET simulations influences students' critical thinking skills in the context of elasticity and Hooke's law. The study was conducted at SMAS Cengkareng 1 Jakarta for five weeks in October 2023, involving a sample of 30 students. The sample selection utilized purposive sampling, comprising 30 students from class XI MIPA B (control group) and class XI MIPA A (experimental group). The applied design was quasi-experimental with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data collection involved a critical thinking test instrument consisting of twelve essay-type questions (validated with a validity of 0.86 and reliability of 0.83). The results of the posttest hypothesis test using the t-test at a significance level of 0.05 showed a sig.(2-tailed) value of 0.000, with the conclusion H0 rejected (indicating the influence of the context-based learning model with PhET simulation assistance on students' critical thinking skills). The critical thinking of the experimental group showed a greater improvement (N-gain 0.459 in the moderate category) compared to the control group (N-gain 0.288 in the low category). The implications of this research encourage educators to implement learning models to enhance low critical thinking skills, allowing students to actively engage with complex challenges related to real-life contexts. The study underscores the need to improve critical thinking skills across various subjects.

Abstract

The aim of this research, which was carried out using a quasi-experimental design, was to determine whether the different variables used were successful or not. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using stop motion video in determining grades as an implementation of saga text learning in SMA/SMK/MA. This research is a quasi-experiment. The effectiveness of using stop motion video in determining grades as an implementation of saga text learning in SMA/SMK/MA between classes that were treated using stop motion video and without using stop motion video. Written tests and multiple choice exams were used to evaluate success in this research. Both the experimental class which was treated using stop motion video to determine the value of the saga, and the control class who were not treated were given this test before and after the learning process was carried out. The results of this research show that the experimental group treatment which used stop motion video to determine the value of the saga was superior to the control group treatment which did not use stop motion video.

Abstract

Learning media is an important tool in the learning process which functions to achieve learning goals. The lack of availability of interesting learning media in elementary schools causes learning to become monotonous. This research aims to determine the process of developing animated video media and the validity of animated video media. This research method is development research using the 4D model, namely define, design, development and dissemination. The resulting learning media is animated video media for theme 4, my obligations and rights, subtheme 1, my obligations and rights, learning 1. The validity of animated video media received a very valid category without revision, reviewed based on validation results by material experts, language experts and design experts. In the material aspect, the average score was 94.56% in the very valid category, in the language aspect, the average score was 93.33% in the very valid category, and in the design aspect, the average score was 100% in the very valid category.

Abstract

This study is based on the discourse that Indonesia will experience a golden age in 2045 so it is necessary to prepare quality human resources so that it can provide positive things in accordance with what is expected. The education unit is the main gate of success. Not only creating quality human resources but education needs to shape character in accordance with national values to face challenges in the future. Based on this analysis, this study aims to describe the character education contained in the history textbook for class XI of the Merdeka Curriculum provided by the government as a learning facility. This study was conducted using content analysis with the history textbook grade XI Merdeka Curriculum as the subject and character education as the object. The existing data is then analyzed in a qualitative way by reducing data, presenting and drawing conclusions. From the study that has been carried out, a connecting line can be drawn that in the history textbook for class XI of the Merdeka Curriculum, which consists of four chapters starting from the colonialism period to the proclamation, there is character education in accordance with the indicators that have been formulated, which include spiritual, nationalist, independent, shoulder to shoulder, and integrity.

Abstract

History is not only about studying the past, but also about how we study the past and use it as a guide for living in the present. The essence of history is past events reconstructed in the present to serve as provisions for life in the future. The VSTP rebellion in Semarang in 1923 is an interesting event to be reconstructed and packaged in historical learning in accordance with current developments. Learning that does not keep up with the times will only make students unable to adapt to new environments that may be present when times change. This material is important because this event is one of the important events during the movement that students must know. The aim of this research is to share knowledge information with history teachers so that they can develop learning materials that suit the needs and characteristics of students to achieve previously determined learning objectives. In this research, the researcher used a descriptive type of library research, where this method uses documents as research sources that are collected and analyzed, so that they become research data. The results that the researchers got were that VSTP was an organization of railway workers who rebelled against the railway companies during the Dutch East Indies together with ISDV because their rights as workers were not fulfilled and were looked down upon. From this incident, teachers can develop history learning materials in the form of handouts, modules, LKPD and comics packaged electronically. However, teachers are not limited to these learning materials alone, but can develop other learning materials according to students' needs and characteristics. It is hoped that the development of learning materials can help teachers in the learning process in class, and can make students more enthusiastic about learning history.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze student perceptions regarding the use of artificial intelligence quillbot in overcoming plagiarism and students' awareness of academic ethics. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection uses observation, questionnaires, interviews and document studies. Data analysis is carried out continuously, starting from data reduction to drawing conclusions. The research results show that the use of Artificial Intelligence QuillBot in overcoming plagiarism in the Islamic Religious Education Study Program at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra is highlighted through two approaches, namely first, the resource person supports the use of the plagiarism checker feature as a solution for detecting plagiarism in their scientific work. They consider QuillBot not only as a tool, but also as a necessity in completing course assignments well, especially because a low level of plagiarism is expected. Second, QuillBot's ability to paraphrase automatically can simplify the process of avoiding plagiarism, reduce the risk of using unoriginal content, and increase the authenticity of scientific work. Some students consider their awareness of academic ethics to be good, showing progress in respecting the principles of academic integrity, such as avoiding plagiarism and stating sources clearly. However, there is still an opinion that awareness of academic ethics still needs to be increased because there are still many students who are less aware of the importance of academic integrity, especially regarding the issue of plagiarism.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education cannot be separated from learning activities because education includes the learning process. However, in reality, learning that occurs in the school environment is still far from the expected target, namely related to learning media that is still conventional, so that it has an impact on geography learning outcomes, therefore new innovative and modern learning media are needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Google Earth learning media on the learning outcomes of students in class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri Ngoro Jombang on natural disaster mitigation material in the 2022/2023 school year. This research is a quasi-experiment with data analysis using: descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon tests. The results showed that the learning outcomes of students at SMA Negeri Ngoro Jombang increased in the control class and experimental class with the calculation of the superior average of the experimental class.

Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students in higher education regarding artificial intelligence writing tools (AIWTs) in the context of Era 5.0. The research aims to understand how AIWTs influence writing quality, efficiency, and creativity among EFL students. Employing a mixed-methods approach, it examines the types of AIWTs used, students' perspectives on their benefits and drawbacks, and the overall value they bring to EFL writing. A total of twenty students from the English education study program at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra, Medan, participated in an online questionnaire aimed at investigating their perceptions on the use of AIWTs in Era 5.0. The findings highlight that EFL students perceive AIWTs as beneficial for enhancing writing quality, speeding up the writing process, and fostering creativity. However, concerns about potential limitations on creativity are also expressed. Despite this, AIWTs are generally regarded as valuable tools for EFL students in higher education. The study offers a reasonable strategy for using AIWTs to guarantee academic performance while maintaining writing creativity.

Abstract

The low quality of education in Indonesia has actually been a long discussion. But until now the problem of education quality has not been resolved. Quality education is the hope and demand of all education stakeholders. This research is a type of qualitative research, so that with this approach can be obtained in-depth understanding and interpretation of the quality assurance system at the Islamic University of Jember. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: (1) the management of educational quality improvement at the Islamic University of Jember is created and maintained in the quality management system of the Islamic University of Jember. The quality management system is a process of setting standards and managing compliance consistently and continuously so as to obtain stakeholder satisfaction. The system is contained in the quality manual integrated in the system documents at the Islamic University of Jember, which include: a) quality statement, b) quality policy, c) implementing unit, d) quality standards, e) quality procedures, f) work instructions, and g) quality objectives. Staging of quality objectives. (2) Furthermore, the implementation of the quality management system of the Islamic University of Jember uses the PDCA (plan, do, check, and action) quality control management model as stated in the policy documents and quality standards of the Islamic University of Jember.

Abstract

Social behavior is the foundation for children when entering the social world, where children are required to interact with others. The purpose of this research is to find out the similarities of the game in the Squid Game film with traditional games in Indonesia and also to see the social behavior that arises when playing traditional games for early childhood in the Squid Game film. This research uses qualitative research using a library research approach. Data sources are obtained from movies and other supporting sources in the form of literature. The analysis used in this research is content analysis. Content analysis is used to analyze the content of the Squid Game film itself. The findings of this study are that there are components of traditional games in the Squid Game movie, namely: Mugunghwa kkoci pieot seumnida, Juldarigi, Guseul nori, Geonneogi, and Ojingeo geim. The social behavior in the Squid Game film itself is mutual help, cohesiveness, cooperation, demonstration, sportsmanship, discipline, playing together, empathy, respect for others, mutual help, friendship, and solidarity. The relevance of traditional games for early childhood is the relationship between children in playing, traditional games raised in the Squid Game movie can be a learning medium.
