Abstract

Science process skills (SPS) are essential to assist the learning of senior high school students according to the 2013 curriculum, which prioritizes a scientific approach. The learning method that supports SPS is experiment methods. Nevertheless, learning with experimental methods is still rarely applied in schools, especially in the sound intensity level concept. The reason is the limited number and variant of experiment tool kits to support learning in schools. This study aims to develop a sound variable intensity level sound tool kit based on development procedures proposed by Jan van de Akker (2006). Sound variable intensity level kit was developed based on tool kit, which was developed before by Fikri Habibi. Sound variable intensity level experiment kit was evaluated by several learning media and learning material experts before being tested on high school students in several stages, including the one-on-one evaluation stages, small group evaluations, and field tests. The researcher revised the sound variable intensity level kit based on suggestions from the experts and the students. After being revised, the sound variable intensity level kit was tested on summative evaluation. Based on the results of summative evaluations, the sound variable intensity level kit becomes a successful, practical, and effective learning support tool kit for improving the science process skills of the student in the concept of sound intensity level.

Abstract

This research aim is to investigate the impact of simulation media toward critical thinking skill in static fluid concept. The research was conducted during 28 January 2019 until 13 February 2019 in SMAN 10 South Tangerang. The purposive sampiling technique was adjusted to determine subject which consist students role of XI IPA 2  as experiment class and XI IPA 1 as control class. The research used quasi experiment method due to nonequivalent control group design. The data were collective by 10 essays test and questionnaire and Mann Whitney to analyse the accpetance of hypothesis. Thus, the result of postest score who learn using simulation media was significant (angka signifikan) effected toward critical thinking skill. In addition,  the N-Gain result indicated student performance of  experiment class was higher improvement than control class. However, learning using simulation media got best category resulting 86% percentage  from student response questionnaire.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Masyarakat "Optimalisasi Pola Makan Mahasiswa Melalui Metode 24-Hour Food Recall" bertujuan untuk memperbaiki pola makan mahasiswa Universitas President melalui edukasi gizi dan konseling. Metode 24-Hour Food Recall digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data asupan makan 30 mahasiswa kedokteran. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata asupan kalori mahasiswa wanita adalah 1499,25 kalori/hari, dengan rata-rata BMI 20,75 (kategori normal), sedangkan rata-rata asupan kalori mahasiswa pria adalah 2964,83 kalori/hari, dengan rata-rata BMI 24,29 (kategori normal). Edukasi gizi dan konseling yang diberikan meningkatkan pemahaman peserta tentang gizi seimbang dan mendorong perubahan perilaku makan yang positif. Sebanyak 95% peserta merasa puas dengan program ini. Keberhasilan program tidak terlepas dari dukungan fakultas dan partisipasi aktif mahasiswa. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat menjadi landasan untuk program gizi dan kesehatan yang lebih luas di lingkungan kampus, serta mendorong terciptanya budaya makan sehat di kalangan mahasiswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a problem-based learning module to create valid, effective, and practical materials on the concepts of temperature and heat that will help students improve their metacognitive knowledge. The ADDIE development model used in this study. The research subjects were students of class XI SMAN 11 Maros who became the subjects of this research. The instruments used are tests in the form of cognitive and metacognitive knowledge and non-tests in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study based on linguistic experts amounted to 88.1, media experts amounted to 85.26, material experts amounted to 91.07 with a very valid category. The results of the effectiveness of the module by physics teachers are 98.95 and students are 88.79 in the very practical category. The results of the effectiveness in increasing metacognitive knowledge with an N-gain value of 0.4 in the medium category. This research obtained that the PBL-based module that has been developed is valid, practical, and effective to increase metacognitive knowledge on the concepts of temperature and heat.Keywords: metacognitive, problem based learning, temperature and heat.

Abstract

Permeabilitas membran sel memainkan peran penting dalam menjaga homeostasis sel dan memfasilitasi pertukaran zat antara sel dan lingkungannya. Tinjauan teoritis ini membahas peran protein transpor dalam mengatur permeabilitas membran sel, dengan fokus pada mekanisme transpor utama, yaitu difusi sederhana, difusi terfasilitasi, tekanan osmotik, filtrasi, dan transpor aktif. Difusi sederhana melibatkan pergerakan molekul melewati membran mengikuti gradien konsentrasi, sedangkan difusi terfasilitasi melibatkan protein pembawa atau kanal yang memfasilitasi pergerakan molekul spesifik. Tekanan osmotik, yang dihasilkan oleh perbedaan konsentrasi zat terlarut, mempengaruhi pergerakan air melintasi membran semipermeabel. Filtrasi melibatkan pergerakan molekul melewati membran berdasarkan ukuran dan muatan, sedangkan transpor aktif menggunakan energi untuk memindahkan molekul melawan gradien konsentrasi. Tinjauan ini menyoroti peran penting protein transpor dalam masing-masing mekanisme tersebut dan implikasinya terhadap fungsi sel secara keseluruhan. Pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang mekanisme transpor sel dapat memberikan wawasan baru untuk pengembangan terapi yang menargetkan gangguan permeabilitas membran.

Abstract

Nickel (Ni) doped in the perovskite manganite could result in superior properties. The effect of the Ni on the morphology, crystallographic orientation, and magnetic properties of La0.7Sr0.3Mn(1-y)Ni(y)O3 alloy (y = 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7), therefore, was undertaken. La0.7Sr0.3Mn(1-y)Ni(y)O3 alloy was firstly processed using a ball milling process, and again processed through heat treatment and crushing at the end of the synthesis process. Powder alloy was then investigated using a scanning electron microscope equipped with scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), x-ray diffraction (XRD), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The particle size became smaller and agglomerated as the amount of Ni doping increased. The polycrystal structure phase formed would become more complex when the Ni doping was 0.5 and 0.7, where the dominant phase formed was La2NiO4 even though the La0.7Sr0.3Mn(1-y)Ni(y)O3 phase was still formed. The magnetic characteristics showed that the Ni doping of 0.1 had a higher magnetization value around 4.2 emu/g at room temperature.

Abstract

Terapi stem cell telah muncul sebagai pendekatan revolusioner dalam dunia kedokteran regeneratif, menawarkan potensi menjanjikan dalam pengobatan penyakit dan cedera. Tinjauan literatur ini menceritakan seputar dampak terapi stem cell pada lanskap sosial, etika, dan kebijakan kesehatan masyarakat. Melalui analisis kritis terhadap berbagai studi terkini, kami mengeksplorasi potensi terapi stem cell dalam meningkatkan hasil klinis, serta membahas tantangan dan pertimbangan etis yang terkait dengan penerapannya. Stem cell memiliki kapasitas unik untuk berdiferensiasi menjadi berbagai jenis sel, menjadikannya alat yang menjanjikan untuk regenerasi jaringan dan organ. Studi-studi yang ditinjau menunjukkan keberhasilan awal dalam aplikasi klinis terapi stem cell untuk kondisi seperti penyakit jantung, diabetes, dan gangguan neurodegeneratif. Namun, tinjauan ini juga menggarisbawahi perlunya penyelidikan dan analisis untuk mengetahui mekanisme proses stem cell serta mengoptimalkan protokol terapi. Dari perspektif sosial dan etika, tinjauan ini mengungkap adanya dilema etis yang kompleks seputar penggunaan stem cell, khususnya yang melibatkan stem cell embrionik. Isu-isu seperti status moral embrio, persetujuan donor, dan akses yang adil ke terapi menjadi perhatian utama. Selain itu, potensi penyalahgunaan teknologi stem cell, seperti untuk tujuan peningkatan kinerja atau seleksi genetik, menimbulkan kekhawatiran etis yang signifikan. Dalam konteks kebijakan kesehatan masyarakat, tinjauan ini menekankan perlunya kerangka kerja peraturan yang komprehensif untuk memandu penelitian dan penerapan klinis terapi stem cell. Kebijakan tersebut harus memprioritaskan keselamatan pasien, menjamin praktik etis, dan mendorong inovasi yang bertanggung jawab. Kolaborasi antara para ilmuwan, pembuat kebijakan, dan masyarakat diperlukan untuk menavigasi lanskap etika yang kompleks ini dan memaksimalkan manfaat terapi stem cell bagi kesehatan masyarakat.

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) assisted by Physics Ludo media in enhancing students' understanding of Newton's laws of gravity. Conducted at SMA Negeri 14 Bekasi City, the research involved an experimental group (grade 10 Science 1) using the TGT model and a control group (grade 10 Science 3) following conventional teaching methods. Pretest and posttest scores were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test, independent samples t-test, and Mann-Whitney U test to determine the impact of the intervention. The results revealed that both the experimental group (Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test, p = 5.82×10⁻¹¹) and the control group (p = 5.26×10⁻⁸) showed significant improvements in posttest scores compared to their pretest scores. Additionally, an Independent Samples t-Test indicated that the experimental group scored significantly higher than the control group in the posttest (t = 10.80, p = 2.16×10⁻¹⁶). The Mann-Whitney U Test further demonstrated that the experimental group had greater improvement scores than the control group (U = 1225.0, p = 4.79×10⁻¹³). These statistical findings confirm the effectiveness of the TGT model with Physics Ludo. Moreover, survey feedback showed high levels of student engagement and motivation, with the majority finding the learning approach engaging and beneficial for understanding physics concepts. These findings highlighted the potential of game-based cooperative learning models to transform traditional educational practices, suggesting that further research and broader application could lead to enhanced learning outcomes in various subjects.

Abstract

Peningkatan literasi sains siswa merupakan salah satu tantangan utama dalam pendidikan, terutama pada pembelajaran fisika yang sering dianggap sulit oleh peserta didik. Media pembelajaran menjadi salah satu solusi strategis untuk mengatasi tantangan ini karena mampu membantu siswa memahami konsep fisika secara lebih efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan effect size pengaruh media pembelajaran fisika terhadap literasi sains siswa melalui metode meta-analisis. Metode ini dilakukan dengan acuan PRISMA dengan empat tahapan yaitu identification, screening, eligibility, include untuk menyeleksi dan menganalisis artikel yang relevan, ditemukan 18 artikel memenuhi kriteria yang ditetapkan. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh effect size yang besar dalam penerapan media pembelajaran fisika sebesar 2,63 yang mengindikasi tingkat efektivitas yang besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya integrasi media pembelajaran inovatif ke dalam proses pembelajaran fisika, seperti penggunaan media digital interaktif dan penyediaan media visual cetak yang mendukung. Rekomendasi bagi pendidik adalah memilih media yang relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa dan materi pembelajaran untuk memaksimalkan dampaknya terhadap literasi sains.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of virtual laboratories and immersive technologies, such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), in science education in the digital era. These technologies are believed to enhance student engagement, facilitate the understanding of complex concepts, and overcome the limitations of physical laboratories. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing 13 selected articles from 574 initially identified studies in the Scopus and Scimago databases, published between 2015 and 2025. The analysis involved thematic coding, synthesis of findings, and comparison of research results to identify the benefits, challenges, and implementation trends. The findings indicate that virtual laboratories and immersive technologies can increase learning motivation, provide safe and flexible experimental experiences, and deepen the understanding of scientific concepts. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure, high costs of equipment procurement, and the need for teacher training remain significant obstacles. This study concludes that integrating virtual laboratories and immersive technologies has great potential to enrich science learning but requires policy support, infrastructure development, and enhanced teacher competencies. The implications emphasize the need for collaboration among educational institutions, policymakers, and technology providers to optimize their application in science education.
