Abstract

In the world of education, Indonesian is one of the subjects that must be taught to students. Indonesian covers the fields of language and literature. In literary activities, writing poetry requires teacher guidance. Learning to write poetry using the monopoly media of folk poetry (MoPuRat) is a concept that presents monopoly as a visual-based medium. This research aims to build the writing skills of many students who are still less active. This type of research is an experiment with a quantitative description method. This research is a type of true experimental design or actual research. The population in this study were all class VII students at MTs Al-Hidayah, while the sample used was class VII-D as the control class and VII-C as the experimental class. The data collection techniques used are observation, tests and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques use formulas to calculate student and teacher activities, test and posttest results, and student response questionnaire results. The results of the research show that the application of folk poetry monopoly media (MoPuRat) in learning to write folk poetry goes well and smoothly. In the control class the average test value was 71.12 and the average posttest value was 77.84. Meanwhile, in the experimental class the average pre-test score was 72.133 and the average post-test score was 87.133. Even though the average score of the two classes increased, the experimental class increased more than the control class. There is a significant difference in learning to write poetry between the control class and the experimental class. This is evident from the results obtained t0 = 2.9882 with db 53. Based on the calculation table, t0 is greater with ttotal at t0 0.005 = 2.00 and t0 0.001 = 2.9882.

Abstract

The 21st century requires students who have critical thinking skills and high learning motivation. PISA survey data shows that Indonesian students' knowledge of thinking skills is still very low and has not reached the standard scores set by PISA. Based on observations and interviews in elementary schools, it was found that there is still a lack of use of learning models and approaches, and teachers do not provide alternative options for student learning access. So this research aims to examine the effectiveness of PjBL-STEM on students' critical thinking skills and learning motivation. The research design used in this research is quasi experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 56 elementary school students consisting of 2 classes, namely 28 experimental class students and 28 control class students. The experimental class received PjBL-STEM learning treatment while the control class received conventional learning treatment. Data on students' critical thinking skills was obtained from the students' critical thinking skills test instrument. Student learning motivation data was obtained from the student learning motivation questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using the independent sample t test at the significance level (sig < 0.05). The results of the research show that there are differences in students' critical thinking skills and learning motivation in classes with PjBL-STEM learning and conventional classes. This can be seen from the increase in Posttest scores and questionnaire results obtained in the PjBL-STEM class compared to conventional classes. The independent sample t test shows that the significance probability value is 0.000, which means it is smaller than α 0.05 (sig < 0.05). Therefore, PjBL-STEM has proven to be effective for elementary school students' critical thinking skills and learning motivation.

Abstract

This research presents practical and innovative practices in the form of proposed class activities for college-level learning designs (assignments) focusing on collaboration and communication skills through behaviorist learning theory and social learning theory approaches. These two skills emphasize 21st-century competencies with the integration of Education 5.0. and Social Emotional Learning concepts. So, the main objectives of this paper are (a) how students are prepared to understand concepts and practice collaboration and communication skills and (b) form project assignments suitable for collaboration skills and active thinking from the themes understood. A qualitative method utilizes a literature review approach to investigate the process of developing project-based learning plans for classroom activities. Analysis of the discussion focuses on collaboration and communication skills through behaviorist learning theory and social learning theory approaches. The results of the learning design and class assignments show that collaboration and communication skills can be achieved through repeated continuous project assignments and feedback from colleagues in the class and lecturers. To hone collaboration and communication skills, repetitive project assignments, reinforcement, and rewards should be considered when designing special assignments for early semester students to equip them with people skills in an increasingly connected and rapidly evolving global landscape. Apart from that, this approach from the two theories in project assignments makes students accustomed to cooperation, time management, and communication. In conclusion, students need to convey ideas in oral and written form. Higher education needs to provide opportunities for students to participate in collaborative projects, group discussions, and presentations and be strengthened using digital communication technologies.

Abstract

History learning has an ongoing problem because of the assumption that history is just memorizing an event, so that learning is less meaningful. In fact, learning history provides new understanding and knowledge so that students are able to criticize things wisely. The phenomenon in the field is found that students are given learning to know other regions but do not study their own regions. From this problem, the researcher saw that there was potential from the PT Bukit Asam Coal Museum in Tanjung Enim to be an interesting object as a meaningful history learning resource for students. The purpose of this study examines how the potential of the PT Bukit Asam Coal Museum in Tanjung Enim as an appropriate and effective history learning resource. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive analysis techniques with literature review. The results of the research based on literature review and interviews conducted, researchers saw quite a lot of schools and public visitors who made field trips to the museum, meaning that this field trip-based history learning strategy is quite potential and effective to be applied to students. The field trip strategy helps students form a certain picture of the object being studied. Learning outside the classroom is one of the most effective learning strategies that gives students the freedom to develop and explore what they learn directly. Through field trip activities, students seem to be entertained because they can see and learn directly through the museum.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively is a necessary aspect in learning geography to find new ideas or thoughts in solving geosphere problems in the surrounding environment. The low value of students' creative thinking makes geography learning less meaningful, so it is necessary to apply the Collaborative Project Based Learning model through 3D diorama project learning to improve students' low levels of creative thinking. The urgency of this research is to determine the increase in creative thinking skills through the application of the Collaborative Project Based Learning model with 3D diorama projects. This research is a type of participant Classroom Action Research (PTK) using the Kemmis & Mc. Taggart model design which consists of two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 35 students in class X-9 at SMA Negeri 1 Tumpang. Data collection used a creative thinking test consisting of 4 filled-in questions referring to indicators according to Munandar (1999). Data processing was obtained from the results of the spatial thinking test in 2 cycles to determine the improvement at each stage. The research results show that the application of the Collaborative Project Based Learning model with 3D diorama projects has increased significantly from the pre-cycle stage to cycle 2. This is evidenced by the increase in the average value of students' creative thinking abilities from pre-cycle which has a value of 59.94 to cycle 1 it was 71.20 or experienced a percentage increase of 19% and cycle 1 with a value of 71.20 to cycle 2 obtained an average value of 82.29 or experienced a percentage increase of 16%. The application of the CPBL model through the 3D diorama project is able to provide space for student collaboration to find innovations or new ideas to solve geosphere problems through making this project.
