Abstract

Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (State Islamic Junior High School) 2 Kediri City is a national achieving madrasa that has won various achievements at national and international levels in academics, research by Scientific Youth, and institutions. National achievements were also achieved with the achievement of awards in the field of inspirational madrasah leadership, and madrasas with national integrity. In this study, a qualitative approach was used during the research process with a case study design. Participant observation and in-depth interviews and documentation studies were applied during data collection. This study shows that the achievement of the academic and non-academic quality of this madrasah cannot be separated from the role of the madrasah committee in providing considerations during the planning, implementation, and monitoring process of the quality of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Kediri. The synergistic cooperation between the government, the madrasa academic community, and the madrasa committee resulted in the achievement of the quality of the madrasa at a national level.

Abstract

This study discusses how family teachers at TMI and MTA Al-Amien Prenduan Islamic Boarding Schools apply character education to children, as well as what are the obstacles and supporting factors in it, especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 (millennial era). The approach used in this study uses a qualitative approach. The results of this study can show that the role of parents in educating their children's character cannot be separated from the parenting applied by each parent with various kinds of sophisticated technology. Besides being able to assist the process of implementing character education, it also requires parents to carry out supervision and extra education. They apply character education to children in various educational methods, based on Islamic guidance.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic situation has imposed a change in the design of the learning process that is normally face-to-face, as in general, to online learning. In this condition, students are required to do more effort in understanding the subject through online discussions. Online learning is also implemented in IDIA Prenduan by using the Integrated Information System (SIMASTER). The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which the SIMASTER is effective in the online learning process, specifically in the Tarbiyah faculty. This research uses a qualitative field approach. And the data collection through interviews, documentation, and observation. And for data analysis, using reduction, presentation, and verification. The result showed that the use of Integrated Information System (SIMASTER) in online learning was effective because it learning it was continuous even in a pandemic. Although it needs improvement because the system is new and needs development to be effective. Although is used still needs support for other applications.

Abstract

This paper proves that the fundamental problem in learning is to use a bank-style teaching model that castrates the creative potential of students and leads to authoritarian feudalistic teaching. The method used is analytical descriptive with the approach of social history and education science. The result is that independence in learning by using learning models is the choice of teachers because this model can build and liberate students' creativity, even with this model education can develop the mission of humanizing humans, and can print generations of quality both scientifically and morally.

Abstract

One of the Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia is Pondok Pesantren, it is the first and oldest education system in Indonesia because the nature of Islam and Indonesians integrate with pesantren is the main attraction, Over time, Islamic boarding schools have developed very rapidly. However, it is possible that there are various obstacles that arise. Islamic boarding school activities are developed through activities that have religious values, such as the commemoration of the great new of Islam, tahfidzul quran, istighosah, manaqib, and reciting the yellow book. That way, these activities serve as a support and complement to the learning in Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to determine how much the preaching and traditions of the Raudhatu Tahfidzil Quran Perak Jombang Islamic boarding school are towards the surrounding community. This type of research uses qualitative research methods with data collection through interviews, observations, and book literature that supports the collected data.

Abstract

This article aims to explain Rasyid Ridha’s view in responding the law of polygamy as stated in chapter al-Nisā’ verse 3. Polygamy is a discourse that has long been discussed in-depth in Islamic jurisprudence. Rasyid Ridha as a reformist figure in the modern age criticized and reviewed the law of polygamy that had been established in Islamic jurisprudence. This criticism was expressed by Rasyid Ridha because he saw that many people did not understand the essence of the verse about polygamy and then they misused it, so that many families did not achieve the goal of a harmonious marriage (sakīnah, mawaddah, and rahmah), and it even gave rise to wide and alarming social problems. Rasyid Ridha specifically discuss this theme in al-Manār chapter al-Nisā’ verse 3 and also in his book Huqūq al-Nisā’ fi al-Islām (Women’s Rights in Islam). This research shows that Rasyid Ridha views polygamy as something that is permissible but has very strict conditions. In addition, polygamy can only be practiced in an emergency, because the ideal marriage in Islam is monogamy.

Abstract

This paper discusses political and social issues in kitab Tafsir al-Qur’an al-Karim penned by al-Ustaz H. A. Halim Hasan, H. Zainal Arifin Abbas dan Abdur Rahim Haitami. Kitab Tafsir al-Qur’an al-Karim by these trio scholars was among the pre-eminent works of contemporary tafsir in Indonesia acclaimed for its balanced method of commentary using transmitted narrative (al-naql) and rational judgement (al-‘aql) in commentary. Some crucial issues of politics addressed were justice, democracy, shura (consultation) and freedom while social issues treated were hypocrisy, history of the Children of Israel, prophethood, natural disposition, intercession, mysticism and arrangement of nature. The method was descriptive and analytical in highlighting political and social views brought forth in the Tafsir. The finding shows that the political and social issues addressed in this work have been significantly established. The accomplishment has positive implication in the development and reform of tafsir in modern times that critically assist in the religious movement for social justice and political reform in Indonesia.

Abstract

Diversity and differences in ethnicity, culture and religion, apart from being the heritage of the Indonesian nation, also have an impact on the emergence of conflicts and criminal acts. However, in several areas, including in East Lampung, there has cc/ been a decrease in crime in the last four years, which is believed to be influenced by the role of Islamic religious counselor. This study aims to examine the educative and consultative role of Islamic religious counselor in crime-prone area for community harmony in East Lampung. This study used a qualitative method using a case study design. The research participants are all of islamic counselors who worked in Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in several areas prone to criminal in the East Lampung such as Jabung, Labuhan Maringgai, and Gunung Pelindung. These areas were chosen pusposively based on the highest crime rate areas in East Lampung. Research results show  that participation Islamic religion counselor can effectively improve the character of society, especially the mother and the father in a family with optimizing various religious activities so that potential criminal action will be minimized. Islamic counselors are found to have a better approach  in educating the society rather than teacher, and able to give in-dept counceling than general counselor because they basically understand more on the ciscumstances and condition in those societies.  In addition, the collaboration and synergy between islamic counselor, the government, and the community can optimize any effort to create a harmonious, safe, and prosperous society.

Abstract

This article aims to unravel the concept of moderation education in the Qur'an. The method used is a qualitative analysis method by reviewing the literature on the concept of moderation education in the Qur'an, as well as other references from several articles that are considered relevant and representative. The results of the study and discussion show that moderation education is a concept that educates not to be extreme, radical, and tolerant of religion. That is the characteristic of Islam. Islam always takes the middle way in its guidance. The peaceful, moderate, and tolerant face of Islam will have an impact on peace for mankind.

Abstract

The establishment of pondok studies in the Malay world is in line with the existence of Malay-Islamic kingdoms. Since then, the pondok school has become an educational platform for the Malay community. The uniqueness of pondok studies is that the education system stands according to the Malay-Islamic mold without neglecting the importance of the Arabic language in its curriculum. Thus, many study texts written in Jawi are produced to meet the demands and needs of the local community. In addition to imparting knowledge, the pondok school also plays a role in developing students' skills. This is where the motivation to conduct research, to find out the role and contribution played by the pondok school from the point of view of developing human potential. The methodology used is document analysis which refers to the writings related to the study of the pondok. Overall, the qualitative method was chosen because it is more relevant for the purposes of collection, screening, analysis and drawing conclusions on the data taken from the document. The study found that pondok study centers offer highly effective study and life routines for skills growth, although the facilities available at the pondok are unlikely to match the facilities provided at full boarding schools or universities.
