Abstract

This study is descriptively aimed to determine the tendency of science learning outcomes of students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 4 Wonosari academic year 2016/2017 through inquiry learning model and direct learning model in terms of student learning independence. Comparative to know the difference of science learning outcomes of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 4 Wonosari academic year 2016/2017 which learning using inquiry model of learning and direct learning model in terms of student learning independence. The type of this research is a Quasi experiment. Descriptive research results show that the tendency of science learning outcomes of students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 4 Wonosari academic year 2016/2017 whose learning using inquiry learning model included in the category very high and who use direct learning model included in the high category, student learning independence using model Inquiry learning is included in the high category, while learning independence using direct learning model is included in medium category. Comparatively, there is a very significant difference of science learning outcomes of students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 4 Wonosari academic year 2016/2017 which learning using inquiry learning model and direct learning model in terms of student learning independence.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe (1) the development of interactive multimedia of science subject by using macromedia flash and (2) the quality of interactive multimedia of science subject in energy and effort material. The type of this study was research and development. The research instrument was questionnaire. Data analyzing techniques were conducted by (1) tabulating data, 2) calculating the average score, and 3) changing the average score based on score category. Based on the result of product testing through expert of media, developing interactive multimedia by using macromedia flash in the teaching of energy and effort material that were seen from aspects of media features and organization were very good. The grading of learning media based on the aspect of teaching and material based on material expert was very good. The result of product testing by the teacher of science subject that was seen from aspects of teaching, material, media features, and the use was very good. The result of product teaching by the seventh grade students of SMP that was seen from aspects of teaching, material, feature, media, and the use was very good. Based on those descriptions, it could be concluded that teaching media of science subject by using macromedia flash was effective and efficient as the teaching tool for the teacher in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The research was to know the determine science learning outcomes. In comparative term in the research to know the difference science learning outcomes among that students learned in in process skills approach and expository approach. This research did in MTs Negeri Sleman City in academic year 2014/2015. This study was a quasi experiment. The population in the research was 132 students. The sample is taken using the technique of purposive sampling. The amount of research sample is 62 students, VIII D class as experiment class and VIII F class as control class. The data is taken using an instrument of learning result test in the form of multiple choice which has been tested its validity and reliability. The analysis techniques used analysis requirement included disseminate normality test, and variance homogeneity. Descriptively, the result of the study showed that propensity science learning outcomes result, that learned in process skills approach included of a very high category. The students that learned expository approach included the high category. Comparatively, the results showed is a significant difference in science learning outcomes of students who learned with the process skills approach with students that learned expository approach ( t value = 4,128 > t table = 2,000 ) at the 5 % significance level and. That means that the approach of process skills influence on science learning outcomes students grade VIII MTs Negeri Sleman City in academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

This research has succeeded in developing student worksheet based on scientific approach to fourth grade students of Elementary School. This research is based on the implementation of the 2013 curriculum emphasizes the theme as a unifying of various subjects and prioritizes learning that aims to activate students. But all this time the teacher only rely on teacher books and student books and supporting use of student worksheets from publishers. The student worksheet has not been able to balance the content of the expected curriculum. The student worksheet contains a brief summary of the subject and practice questions. Thus, the problem in this research is how the feasibility of development of student worksheet based on scientific approach of sub theme of Energy Source? The type of research undertaken is research development (Research and Development) with Borg & Gall learning system design model. This study was piloted in class IV SD Negeri 01 Podosugih as many as 10 students. From this research result of product of Student Worksheet based on scientific approach to support implementation of curriculum 2013 in sub theme sub theme 2 theme of Energy Source in fourth grade of elementary school. based on the validation result through 2 stages: a) the result of validation of the material of learning material of phase I obtained the average of 53.12 criteria less feasible and stage II 77,08 criterion is feasible. b) the result of validation of expert evaluation of learning media of phase I get the average, 78,33 eligible criterion and stage II 91,67 criterion very feasible. c) teacher response earned an average of 91.00 very positive criteria. d) result of questionnaire student response get average 88,10 with criterion very positive. The researcher's suggestion is that students are accustomed in scientific-based learning, in order to stimulate students' activeness and critical thinking, so that time allocation can be done well, and student worksheet based on scientific approach can be used for further research.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the constructivism learning model in order to increase interest in science learning and achievement of class VIII C of SMP Negeri 12 Yogyakarta in the Academic Year 2012/2013. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) or Clasroom Action Research (CAR) conducted collaboratively. Subjects in this study were students of class VIII C, amounting to 34 students. Objects in this research is of interest, science learning achievement and learning constructivism. The data collecting technique is conducted by observation, interview, questionnaires engineering, documentation and test. Techniques of data analysis conducted qualitative descriptions. Achievement test data analysis is done by calculating the average and the percentage of successful products. The results showed that after the implementation of this constructivism learning  students' interest in learning has increased. Seen before action students just passively listening to the teacher explain the matter but after being given the actions they have started actively to ask, and discuss with friends. Percentage of student interest obtained from the questionnaire on pre-action that is 63.81%, while the percentage obtained in the first cycle of 71.55%, and the second cycle is obtained percentage of 78.34%. The students also experienced an increase of value  average 56.65 initial capability, increased in the first cycle to 68.7, and the second cycle increased to 75.92. It can be said that the interest in constructivism learning model and student achievement VIII Class C SMP Negeri 12 Yogyakarta can be improved.

Abstract

The research descriptively aimed to know the result of learning natural science and students activity at eight grade of SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta school in academic year 2014/2015 which learned using problem-based learning and direct instruction. Comparatively to determine the differences of learning science result between problem-based learning and direct instruction in terms of students activeness. The population of this research was 171 students. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The data collected by documentation, a test of learning science and observation sheet. The hypothesis analysis technique used ANCOVA. Descriptively, the natural science result which learned by problem-based learning is in a very high category and direct instruction included in the high category. The students’ activity which used problem-based learning is in high category and direct instruction included in the medium category. The ANCOVA test gained Fcount = 7,405. Therefore the result of Fcount  > Ftable comparatively there were significant differences of science learning result at grade VIII students in SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta between through problem-based learning and direct instruction that is seen from the student's activity.

Abstract

This research descriptively aimed to know the tendency of science student achievement of 7th grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Mlati Sleman which was taught by using Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Direct Instruction model. This research comparatively aimed to know the difference of science achievement between the students which was taught by using PBL model and Direct Instruction model. The type of this research is Quasi Experiment. Data analysis used t-test by analysis requirement i.e. normality test by using chi-square formulation and homogeneity test by using F-test. The result of research descriptively shows the tendency of science achievement of 7th grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Mlati Sleman which was taught by using PBL model is classified in very high category, whereas using direct instruction is classified in medium category. The result of t-test analysis shows there is very significant difference between PBL model and direct instruction model. It means there is an influence of PBL model towards science achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to develop device learning according to a model learning media comic of teaching materials in subchapter mechanical systems man and its relation to health in the class viii junior high schools 3 Sarolangun. The kind of research is research development referring to the model of development borg and gall. Subject research used as a subject pilot were students class VIII junior high schools 3 Sarolangun. Steps research is: analysis products to be developed, product development early, validation the people of and revision products, pilot the field limited and revision products, trial on center court and the final product. Media developed tested its feasibility with the validation by the matter and media experts before undergone a try. An instrument used to collect data is chief. The results of the study showed that validation the people of material obtain the average score 4.10 included in 23.501 very good. The results of validation media experts have the average score 3.9 included in category good.The results of response students to media learning comic obtain the average score the percentage value of 93,04 included in category good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the tendency of students communication skills, attention to parents and learning achievements of natural science students of SMP Negeri 10 Umbulharjo District of Yogyakarta; and (2) there is a positive and significant relationship between students communication skills and attention of parents with learning achievement either independently or together. This research ex post facto quantitative certain model implemented in SMP Negeri 10 District of Umbulharjo Yogyakarta, this study bersampel 167 students. The results showed that (1) the tendency of each - each independent variable in the high category and science learning achievement in the category of very high; (2) the relationship between each - each variable with learning achievement seen from the students' communication skills sig 0.009 <0.05 and attention of parents sig 0.00 <0.05; and (3) the relationship between the two variables with student achievement seen from the value of F count = 7.849> F table = 3.05 with a significance of 5%. So that the students' communication skills and attention of parents have a relationship to improve learning achievement IPA class VIII SMP Negeri 10 districts of Umbulharjo Yogyakarta. The relative contribution on students' communication skills amount 20.34% and the attention of parents amount 79.66%. While effective contribution on communication skills of students amount 2.3% and the attention of parents amount 6.4%. Thus to improve learning achievement IPA it is necessary pay attention to students' communication skills and attention from the parents of students.

Abstract

This research was aimed to improve motivation and evaluation of science for grade VIII E students through a type of cooperative learning model Inside Outside Circle at MTs Negeri Sleman Kota Yogyakarta. This research is Classroom Action Research that was collaboratively. The subject of this study is 33 students in class VIII E at MTs Negeri Sleman Kota Yogyakarta. Thr object of this study is teaching by using a type of cooperative learning model Inside Outside Circle, motivation, and students evaluation. The collecting data method used observation, documentation, questionnaire, and test. The result of this research showed that after implementing a type of cooperative learning model Inside Outside Circle, motivation and evaluation grade VIII E students became better and improved. This showed that by improvement of average percentage of learning motivation for each cycle, indicator average of motivation pra cycle is 66,84% improve become 75,08% in cycle I and 81,14% in cycle II. The average of evaluation in cycle I am 73 become 79 in cycle II. A lot of students can reach the KKM in cycle I am 17 students with 50% percentage. In the cycle, II become 71,8% one 23 students can reach KKM. Based on the result of the research, the writer gave advice for the science teacher to implement a type of cooperative learning model Inside Outside Circle as the innovation of teaching and cooperative learning model.
