Abstract

This study aims to know the tendency of science learning outcomes in 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta students in the academic year of 2014/2015 with used the Inquiry Role Approach (IRA) method and demonstration method. Comparatively to determine differences in science learning outcomes in 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta students in the academic year of 2014/2015 between Inquiry Role Approach (IRA) method and demonstration method. The results showed that the tendency of the science learning outcomes of students using method Inquiry Role Approach (IRA) is very high while the tendency of learning outcomes of students using demonstration method is high. The analysis showed that there differences science learning outcomes in 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta students in the academic year of 2014/2015 between Inquiry Role Approach (IRA) method with demonstration method.

Abstract

This research aims to know the existence of influence applying STM to class VIII SMP Trisula Salam Magelang student learning outcomes in the subject chemistry material. This population research is all class VIII, SMP Trisula Salam. Sampling technique used is population research. Research conducted by giving treatment in the form of applying of method study STM approach continued with post-test. Pursuant to result of research, obtained by mean assess post-test experiment class 100 and control class 80. Value of post-test experiment class and control class have the normal distribution and have same variants, while difference test two means of  t_count =2,725 with p=0,009. The result learning outcomes of experiment class is better than control class. Pursuant to result of research can be concluded that there is an influence of the method with STM approach to student learning outcomes of class VIII SMP Trisula Salam Magelang at the subject chemistry material.

Abstract

This research was aimed to improve motivation and evaluation of science for grade VII B students through concept map at SMP negeri 12 Yogyakarta in the second semester academic year 2013/2014. This research is Classroom Action Research that was collaboratively. The subject of this study is 34 students in class VII B at SMP Negeri 12 Yogyakarta. Thr object of this study is teaching by using concept map, motivation, and students evaluation. The collecting data method used observation, documentation, questionaire and test. The result of this research showed that after nimplementing concept map, motivation and evaluation grade VIIB students became better and improved. This showed that by improvment of average percentage of learning motivation for each cycle, indicator average of motivation pra cycle is 63,3% improve become 73, 3% in cycle I and 78,7% in cycle II. The average of evaluation in cycle I is 73 become 79 in cycle II. A lot of students can reach the KKM in cycle I are 17 students with 50% persentage. In cycle II become 79,41% one 27 students can reach KKM. Based on the result of the research , the writer gave advice for scince teacher to implement concept map as the variation of teaching and learning method.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to raise the interest and learning-result in Science for students in class VIII B through model a cooperative learning type Snowball Throwing. This type of research is a "Research The Act of The Class". The subject this research is the students in class VIIIB. while the object the activity t and its learning-result sciences. The data-collecting technique can be by the inquiry, test, observation, and documentation. The data analyzing calculated using analyzes technique, using percentage, qualitative descriptive and the indicator of success. The research result shows that the learning-activity and learning-result science has progressed every cycle.The result percentage the average activity indicator in cycle I am 56% and it increased up to 82% in cycle II. The students' Science learning-result average in pre-cycle also increased from 51,38 to 78,18 in cycle II. There are five students who succeed reaching the KKM in pre-cycle by the percentage 22,73%. Cycle I has 9 students with the percentage 40,91%. In cycle II, it increased there were 16 students with percentage 72,73%  succeed reaching the KKM.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference between science study results using experimental methods and methods talks in terms of communication skill. The type of research is quasi experiment. Data collection technique using documentation, questionnaire, and test. Data analysis technique using descriptive analysis and anacova. Descriptively, science study results using experimental method in very high level while methods talks in high level. Communication skill of experimental methods in very high level and methods talks in high level. Comparatively, there’s an effect of experimental methods on science study results in terms of communication skill

Abstract

Testing of the student’s ability is required to know the success of the learning activity process. The purpose of the study is to describe the characteristic of the final term examination test quality of Basic Biology Course of Natural Science study Program FKIP UST on the odd term in Academic Year of 2010/2011 reviewed from the theorical and empirical aspect.he study aimed to determine the relationship of the final term examination test quality of basic Biology course. The process are blue print establishment, optional objective test determination, assessment criteria, examination, revision, and trial. The test characteristic clarified as follows: good content validity, content validity resulted through item examination by practitioners and experts.. The responses of the student are analyzed quantitavely to obtain the psychometric characteristic of the test. This study was carried out in the Natural Science Education Study Program FKIP UST Yogyakarta. The sample of research are 46 students of Natural Science Education Study Program FKIP UST attended the Basic Biology Course on the odd term in Academic Year of 2010/2011Result of the analysis using ITEMAN shows  the test have alpha reliability coefficient 0,697 and SEM 2,488. The Analysis result using Iteman shows that this test instrument has a quite good item difficulty level, good item discrimination, and good distracter affectivity. Overall examination question is good, but still to be revised in determining the language distractor and construction so the testee can understand the question easily. Suggestions for this research are to be widely used, the test should not be carried  out once, the samples should be taken from the wider scope. This examination should be supported with performance test to measure the real students ability.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to find out:  (1) the result of student’s achievement in science by using process skill approach. (2) To determine the differences in student’s achievement in science by using process skill approach and expository. The research used the quasi-experimental method. The data collection technique, the writer used documentation to know the students’ initial competency and used test technique to get data on the result of studying additives and addictives of science subject. The data analysis technique in this study used t-test. Descriptively, the result of this study showed that the inclination of learning natural science result at eight grade student in SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta in academic year 2013/2014 which through with skill process include in exellent/very high category, whereas the calss which learning by expository approach includes in good/high category. The calculation result of t-test from contril class and experiment gained tcount > ttable was 2,094 > 2,000 and the probality values (p) ≤ 0,05 at the 5% significance level was 0.040 ≤ 0.05, therefore comparatively there were significant diferences between the learning through process skill and expository approach, this means that there are the influences in teaching to the result through process skill to science subject achievment at eigth students on odd semester in SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the learning process IPA through the use of the science props, so as to enhance the creativity and learning outcomes of science students of class VIII MTs.YAPPI Jetis Saptosari Gunungkidul the academic year 2016 / 2017. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results showed that after learning through of the science props, creativity and learning outcomes IPA increased. This can be demonstrated by an increase in average based on the percentage of students’ creativity observation sheet for each cycle, in the first cycle 21,67%  and the second cycle 62,50%. Based on the results of tests of learning with the science props seen before by the action and after getting action. Improving students learning occurs on the average value of the capability is 56,68 increased to 74,42 at the end of the first cycle and increased again to 86,83 at the end of the second cycle. It can be concluded that learning IPA through the use of the science props can improve creativity and students learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the tendency of natural science result study between using Outdoor Learning model and Ekspository learning model. Comparatively aims to determine differences on natural science result study student class VII MTs N Dlingo on both the learning model. The data analysis technique using t-test but previously performed analysis prerequisite test including normality test distribution and homogeneity of variance test. The result of descriptive research showed that the tendency on natural science result study Outdoor Leraning model included the very high category, and the use of Ekspository learning model included the high category. The analysis shows that there are significant differences on natural science result study on both the learning model. The average of natural science result study using Outdoor Learning model is higher than Ekspository  learning model, so it can be concluded that the effect of Outdoor Learning model on natural science result study.

Abstract

The objective for this research is to recognize the differences between learning using Pictorial Riddle method and speech method by evaluating the result study of 8th grade science class students at Taman Dewasa Ibu Pawiyatan Junior High School. The research is Quasi Experiment. Its design is using Matched Group Pretest Posttest Design.  Based on statistical calculation, the average post-test results for control class and experiment class are 58,296 and 71,036. Through this calculation, we have tcount around 2,469 with p-value 0,16 in scale 5%. Since 0,016 is less then 0,05 (0,016 < 0,05) means there is a significant different study result for science’s (IPA’s) students. By using whole calculation, we have post-test average score for control class and experiment class in row 13,963 and 17,036 in which are in normal curve include in middle and high categories. It means learning using Pictorial Riddle method gives better influence towards study result improvement for 8th grade students in learning science (IPA).
