The results of testing the effectiveness of giving red dragon fruit to hypertensive patients with CI systolic> 1p value 0.096 <α, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected. As for the diastolic CI> 1p value 0.032 <α, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected, meaning that dragon fruit is effective in reducing systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Conclusion: Red dragon fruit can lower blood pressure. Because there is a content of iron and potassium which helps accelerate the circulation of oxygenated blood in the body Keywords: Blood pressure, hypertension, red dragon fruit

Abstract

Background: Breastfeeding at the beginning of a infant's life is essential because the enhancement of human quality starts from the baby. Breast milk contains substances that can protect babies from bacteria and viruses that cause infections. The failure of exclusive breastfeeding is caused by various factors, one of them include nutrition of breastfeeding mothers. Breastfeeding mothers need to pay attention to their nutrition by consuming foods that have a lactagogue effect or increase and accelerate milk production. Consumption of breastfeeding mothers towards Indonesian traditional plants which have lactagogue effect is still lacking. One of the plants that contains lactagogue is Torbangun (Coleus Amboinicus L) leaf which has effect to increase the volume of milk production. Objective: To find out he effect of giving torbangun (Coleus Amboinicus L) leaves on prolactin levels and milk production of breastfeeding mothers. Methods: This experimental study was conducted on 32 breastfeeding mothers which divided equally into 16 mothers as a control group and 16 mothers as a treatment group. This stude aimed to determine the effect of consumption of Torbangun leaf tea for 14 days on prolactin levels and milk production. Results: The results showed that supplementation of Torbangun leaf tea increased prolactin levels (significance 0.014 (p <0.05)) and milk production (significance 0.046 (p <0.05). Conclusion: The results of the analysis showed that torbangun significantly increased prolactin levels and breast milk production. Lactating mothers can consume torbangun as supplementation which can increase prolactin levels and milk production.

Abstract

Background:The production of breast milk which is less and slowly exits can cause the mother not to give enough milk to her baby. In addition to the hormone prolactin, the lactation process also depends on the hormone oxytocin, which is released from posterior pituitary as a reaction to nipple sucking. Oxytocin affects the myoepithelial cells that surround the alveoli so that the alveoli contracts and secretes milk that has been secreted by the mammary gland, this oxytocin reflex is affected by the mother's soul. If there is anxiety, stress and hesitation that occurs, then the expenditure of breast milk can be hampered. Various ways can be done to stimulate the oxytocin reflex. The endorphin massase method is used as an alternative way to provide comfort for labor pain and can increase the release of oxytocin substances. Objective:This study aims to determine the effect of endorphin massage on breastfeeding in postpartum mothers. Methods:This study was quasi experimental with a sample of postpartum mothers. The independent variable is endorphin massage, and the dependent variable is breastfeeding with a post test only design with control group design. The statistical test used was the Wilcoxon test. Results:Based on the results of research conducted on 20 respondents, the results obtained from the non parametric statistical test 2 indepedence samples (Wilcoxon test) stated that the results of the Wilcoxon statistical test showed results p = 0.026 <0.05, meaning Ho was rejected and Hı was accepted so that there was influence oxytocin massage against the time of milk removal. Conclusion:There is an effect of oxytocin massage on the time of breastfeeding in postpartum mothers.
