Abstract

Argulus sp. merupakan patogen utama yang menyebabkan luka pada inang yang akan diikuti infeksi sekunder. Ekstrak seduh batang pisang ambon mengandung saponin, tanin, flavonoid dan immunostimulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan konsentrasi penggunaan ekstrak seduh batang pisang ambon yang tepat sebagai upaya pengobatan infeksi Argulus sp. pada ikan mas koki (Carassius auratus) dengan teknik perendaman. Ikan mas koki yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berukuran panjang 6,06±0,70 cm dengan bobot 8,13±1,80 g. Ikan direndam dalam air yang mengandung ekstrak seduh batang pisang ambon dengan dosis berbeda yaitu 500 mg/L, 1.000 mg/L, dan 1.500 mg/L selama 1 jam. Kontrol positif adalah ikan yang tidak diberikan ekstrak. Uji tantang dilakukan dengan perendaman parasit Argulus sp. sebanyak 5 ekor parasit setiap ekor ikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua dosis yang digunakan tidak menyebabkan kematian pada uji toksisitas dan mampu menurunkan prevalensi serta intensitas parasit pada ikan. Perlakuan dosis 1.500 mg/L memberikan kelangsungan hidup ikan mas koki tertinggi pasca uji tantang sebesar 100%. Pemberian ekstrak mampu mengembalikan kesehatan ikan pasca pengobatan ditandai dengan ikan yang bergerak aktif dan peningkatan konsumsi pakan. Perlakuan dosis 1.500 mg/L adalah dosis terbaik yang digunakan untuk mengendalikan infeksi Argulus sp. pada ikan koki.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan budidaya adalah ketersediaan unsur hara dalam lingkungan perairan yang dapat ditingkatkan melalui pemupukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik dan anorganik terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas K. alvarezii. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan: pupuk NPK, Urea, DIGROW (organik), dan kontrol tanpa pupuk. Parameter yang diamati mencakup pertumbuhan mutlak, laju pertumbuhan harian (SGR), kualitas air dan logam berat perairan. Penelitian dilakukan di Teluk Banten selama 45 hari menggunakan metode rakit apung. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk, khususnya pupuk organik DIGROW, mampu meningkatkan produksi rumput laut hingga 586,67±27,38 g/m², dengan laju pertumbuhan harian tertinggi sebesar 0,33±0,08%. Parameter kualitas air seperti suhu, pH, dan salinitas berada dalam kisaran optimal. Namun, konsentrasi logam berat merkuri pada satu titik pengujian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan yang berpotensi membahayakan.

Abstract

Udang merupakan komoditas perikanan unggulan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis tinggi. Permasalahan saat ini adalah terjadinya kegagalan produksi sebagai akibat dari buruknya kualitas air yang digunakan dalam budidaya udang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kualitas air  lingkungan budidaya dan  produksi budidaya udang di industri tambak sistem intensif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian terapan lapangan, deskriptif dan kuantitatif.  Metode pengambilan data adalah observasi partisipasi, diskusi group (focus group discussion),  wawancara dan kuesioner.  Metoda analisis data adalah deskriptif, perbandingan dan pembobotan. Pengolahan data menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Lokasi kegiatan di lima kabupaten yang menyelenggarakan budidaya udang vaname sistem intensif dan terdiri dari PT AM Bangka, PTSUN Bengkalis, PTAN Probolinggo, PTMCS Yogyakarta, PTUK Pandeglang, dan PTLF Lampung. Penelitian dilaksanakan tanggal 22 Januari - 20 Juli 2023. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh parameter kualitas air sesuai dengan standar  dan dapat berproduksi  dengan baik. Semakin mendekati optimum standar kualitas air, maka semakin tinggi hasil produksi budidaya  udang vaname. Uji F mengindikasi terdapat hubungan yang moderat DO dan produksi. Pengaruh DO dan salinitas secara bersama terhadap produksi mengindikasikan tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan.   Produksi tertinggi 38.498 Kg Ha-1 dan terendah 18.540 Kg Ha -1

Abstract

Biofloc technology utilizes heterotrophic bacteria to control waste by adding organic carbon sources. The addition of organic carbon sources is based on the feed-to-carbon ratio. This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding low doses of molasses to a biofloc system on water quality and floc formation in catfish farming. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments: no molasses (control), 5%, 10%, and 15% molasses, each with three replicates. The results showed that molasses addition had no significant (P > 0.05) effect on water quality and floc volume. Parameters such as temperature, pH, TSS, TAN, nitrite, and nitrate remained relatively stable across all treatments, while floc volume at 5%, 10%, and 15% molasses was relatively similar. Thus, the use of 5% molasses is recommended as the most efficient dose because it produces water quality and floc formation conditions equivalent to higher doses. The presence of plankton in the rearing medium and the fish intestines indicates that the flocs have the potential to be utilized as natural feed by catfish.

Abstract

The kissing gourami (Helostoma temminckii) is an economically valuable freshwater fish species with increasing potential for aquaculture development. However, fungal infection remains an important health problem in its culture system. This study aimed to identify the fungal agent infecting cultured kissing gourami and to determine the prevalence and intensity of infection in aquaculture ponds in Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The study was conducted for 30 days, with fish sampling performed every five days across six observation periods. Fungal examination used mucus samples collected from the body surface, fins, and gills. The fungal agent was identified based on macroscopic and microscopic characteristics. The results showed that the fungal agent identified in infected kissing gourami was Saprolegnia sp. The prevalence of infection ranged from 0.7–6.0% , based on 150 fish examined during each sampling period. The lowest prevalence occurred on day 10, while the highest prevalence occurred on day 30. The intensity of infection ranged from 2–7 colonies/fish, indicating very low to low infection intensity. Microscopically, Saprolegnia sp. was characterized by long, branched, aseptate hyphae. Clinically, infected fish showed cotton-like white patches, fin erosion, and ulcerative lesions on the body surface. These findings indicate that Saprolegnia sp. is an opportunistic fungal pathogen in cultured kissing gourami. Therefore, routine fish health monitoring and proper water quality management are essential to minimize the risk of saprolegniasis in aquaculture ponds.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effect of feeding frequency of chicken intestine paste on the growth and survival of Kryptopterus lais fingerlings. The experiment utilized a completely randomized design with five feeding frequency treatments (2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 times per day) and three replications over 21 days. Ten fingerlings weighing 0.09±0.01 g were stocked in each aquarium and fed at a rate of 10% of their body weight per day. Observed parameters included growth performance, feed efficiency, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, and water quality. The results showed that feeding frequency had a significant effect on growth performance (P<0.05). Feeding four times day⁻¹ resulted in the best performance, indicated by a weight gain of 0.12±0.01 g, length gain of 1.14±0.21 cm, SGR of 0.57±0.01% day⁻¹, feed efficiency of 47.56±3.45%, feed conversion ratio of 2.48±0.21, and survival rate of 76.67±15.28%, with all water quality parameters remaining within optimal ranges. Therefore, a feeding frequency of four times day⁻¹ is recommended to improve growth and feed efficiency during the nursery phase of Kryptopterus lais.

Abstract

Beneng taro leaves (Xanthosoma undipes) have potential benefits for fish, including reproductive performance, but their use has not been widely studied. Therefore, research on the effect of Beneng taro leaf extract on zebrafish (Danio rerio) reproduction is crucial as basis for use in aquaculture. This study aimed to analyze the reproductive performance of zebrafish after exposure to Beneng taro leaf extract solution. The reproductive performance parameters observed were egg number, egg morphometry, egg fertilization rate, and egg hatching rate. The research method used was an experiment with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Sublethal dose tests were conducted at concentrations of 250 - 450 ppm for 96 hours. Reproductive performance tests used a concentration of 350 ppm with exposure durations of 0, 24, 48, and 96 hours. The results showed that exposure to a sublethal concentration of 350 ppm did not affect zebrafish reproductive performance. Based on statistics, each treatment did not show significant differences. The average number of eggs in each treatment was not much different, namely 43±8-46±5, the fertilization rate was around 45 ± 2 – 50 ± 14%, and the hatching rate was around 44 ± 4 – 47 ± 8%. In egg morphometry, the egg diameter ranged from 1.15 ± 0.03 - 1.20 ± 0.02 mm and the yolk volume was 0.084 ± 0.003 - 0.184 ± 0.020 mm3.
